Roseland Ballroom
New York, NY

  Source:  AKG 480/ck63 (+A61) > Sound Devices 744T (24-bit/48k).
Location:  Balcony rail, on stand ~6\' high, dead center.
Transfer:  Sony Sound Forge 9.0 (0db Normalization; Fades; Resampled with Anti-Alias Filter,
Interpolation Accuracy = 4; Bit-Depth Conversion (24>16) with Highpass Triangular
Dither, Highpass contour Noise Shaping) > CDWave > FLAC16.
   Taper:  Dave Pecoraro
Notes:  The sound kept getting louder and louder throughout the night, and about 45 minutes
in, I made the not-so-great decision to flip on my limiter (as I couldn\'t set my
levels any lower), and there is a distinct difference in the sound before and after
the limiter was turned on. In hindsight, I regret doing it, but I was really fearing
that clipping would occur. Keep an eye out for Dan Lynch\'s recording.
Big thanks to Dan Lynch, Tom and Jimmy at the Roseland, and most importantly, of
Montreal for making this recording possible!

I hear they will be in my area a month from now.  Can you give me a brief description of the music and live show?  Before yourself, Zapp and DPeck started mentioning them in every other thread a month or two ago, can\'t say I ever heard of this act.

where my seeders at?

al z... its quite difficult to describe exactly what they sound like. their older stuff is really indie sounding; newer stuff dabbles in progressive rock, but its all really experimental/trippy/electronic sorta and plays with lots of effects and harmonies and such. their live show is a spectacle, with crazy lights and stage props, i remember seeing kevin barnes in maybe 4 or 5 outfits at least? the horse, the noose & subsequent hanging, it was totally a "show" by definition.

i guess it really helps to know the music too. i mean, you\'ll probably like the show even without knowing the music, but i\'d recommend giving at least the new album (Skeletal Lamping) a spin or 2 (or 50, like i did, :giggle: ), if you have time, Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer is a fantastic pick, and The Sunlandic Twins and Satanic Panic in the Attic are also gems.... either way, i dont think you\'ll regret the decision to go!!
