Escher\'s 3 > Buquebus inverticus had to be sick.. Actually, what section of Queeb did it drop into? I\'m imagining 2nd jam but realize it could\'ve fallen into many sections.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

you will never see me write the word "dyslexic" on a setlist, unless it happens to appear in the title of a new breakfast song, or if the word somehow comes up in a FFT.

that story ends there. let\'s talk about the show and how fucking great it was.

The tail end of the night (\'dyslexic\' Buquebus jam onward) was worth the drive and the exhaustion after the metal show.

Breakfast straight up kills it. Bottom line.

Some pics from the past couple nights, if yer interested....

Most of \'em are of my ugly mug, but a couple great band shots (\'specially Timmy\'s tantrum on Friday night).

ROCK.
One way or another this darkness got to give...

The show seemed to take forever to get started.  I was just impatient.  It absolutely was as good as it looks on paper.  Probably could\'ve been 2 sets if they didn\'t drag ass, though.

I honestly have no idea what to say about the show.  It had to be good to take our minds off of the fact that it was about 110 degrees in the place.  Holy shit.  Gencs actually put wet towels on their mic stands.  but anyway...

As quickly as Escher\'s 1 started it went right into a very hard hitting What the Funk that got everyone dancing for the rest of the night.  When it seemed time for WTF to come back around it went back into Escher\'s 2 which was just spectacular.  I haven\'t heard Reel Time in a while so that was a nice treat.  Escher\'s 3 was fuckin\' beautiful as always, I have to say that I never thought I\'d see an INVERTED Buquebus to tell you the truth, I mean it just started right as the change for Escher\'s 4 supposed to happen, it left me and I\'m sure a few others scratching our heads about whether or not it actually was Buquebus.  It picked up at the jam right after the first verse, it only took a few minutes to figure it out, I think it was just the fact that it was so unexpected.  It had a different feel to it than the legendary, though probably never to be heard one from 8/16 at River Street, still top fuckin\' notch.  Definitely the highlight of my night when it went back into Escher\'s 4, my favorite B\'fast song right now, just a perfectly timed segue.

Metropolis is always fun.  This one was as about as good as it gets, though every version seems to surpass the one that came before it, this was also the case, just some really tremendous playing.

I figured there\'d be a few more and maybe the begining of Buquebus to close things out, but I was wrong as usual.  I don\'t care what the haters say, I love And She Was.  I also think that for the type of crowd there, it was a perfect fit.

When it was over, I said quietly, "The Chase...?"  It was a perfect fit and a perfect ending.  Though an encore would\'ve been nice, I\'m still happy...
