every fucking morning i try to log on it says backup in progress.makes no sense.god forbid i wanna check the board before work.someone needs to get this mickeymouse messageboard working in the morning for the folks who wanna see whats what at around 6-630am.

Freddie - I asked Paul the same question last month and his response was:

"asked dave about it yesterday as you\'re not the first to mention it. It backs up the site automatically every morning at 4am and then is suppose to turn the boards back on, but it\'s been acting up and has to be manually restarted by dave after the backup."

I don\'t know about you, but I\'m not getting up after the 4:00 back up just to re-boot a server.  I\'m sure he\'s working on it, so cut the guy some slack.  If it weren\'t for his initiative a few years back, this site wouldn\'t exist.

This site does NOT live on a dedicated server.It is a shared webhosting. Which means that the message board software is backing it self up most likely to preserve the database the entire thing runs on.

So there is no getting up at 4:00AM to reboot a server. It just means that the code for the site needs to be tweaked to either run at diffferent time or be optimized to run faster.

some folks gotta work in the am and cant get to a computer during the day.this means i gotta wait til 5ish to find out whether or not the band even exists still.

and take us longtime fans out of the equation.  any casual fan of the band hopping on dot info to find out information on a show that happened/ upcoming show is gonna be less likely to come back here if its down for six hours a day.  we all know this board isn\'t directly connected to the band, but it still comes off as unprofessional and is gonna hurt the band\'s chances of picking up more longtime fans.

i def. wish the board was guaranteed to work 24/7 like every other one i go on, esp. since this is the band my focus is mainly on.   i have tried to show kids shit on the board in the past, but the backup is ragin, sometimes till past 11
