Yeah, This is going to be a good time. I\'ve been friends with the band for years, I design merch, cd covers and posters for them and they played HBAAMF last year for me as well. this year its going to be alot of fun, its well organized and we have some really great acts like cabinet (just got of tour with railroad earth) and grammar debate! (think velvet underground)
The people of Hop Bottom have been kind enough to let us do this party again this year, it is in the middle of a small NE PA mountain town and in the day will be somewhat of a family event hence the rollie polie guacamole band
, they are a kids band. The pony rides and such are for the familys in the area that really do not care about the music, we have to have stuff for the locals to keep them happy and into supporting the event. this event will have a family vibe in the day and there will be a good old party scene at night. (all of us putting this event on have been around the block more than once and we like to have a good time too) There are also fireworks and about 20 or so venders with some real cool stuff.
$10 for 2 day or $7 single day, I know camp bisco is going on that weekend but this is a real budget alternative because we all know money is tight right now. I encourage everyone to support the vendors and buy their stuff and come and have a good time if you just can\'t afford bisco.
a couple of rules. no coolers, Respect the neighbors and the community and have a good time. I am the head of security and I\'ve got 200+ grateful dead and Phish shows under my belt so believe me everthing you do at the fest is cool with me as long as no one gets out of control and I know you all know what I mean
. Pretty much do what you want but Keep it cool.
there is camping about 1/2 mile away from the fest site
please feel free to visit
http://www.hopbottomartsandmusicfestival.com for camping, ticket info and to listen to the bands that are playing
everything booked I think is top shelf stuff and promises to be fun for all.
hope you can all make it if you are not going to Bisco and I hope this is the start of a yearly event that gets bigger everytime we do it, Its twice as big as last year as it is.
we are still looking to add vendors like artsy craft types of stuff and we are looking for volunteers to help out as well. If you are interested in any of that email me at
john_e_warner@yahoo.comtake care and I hope to meet some of you
also if anyone is interested check out
http://www.evansink.net and
http://www.jduballstars.com, I\'ve been doing art for the band since like 2000 and alot of that stuff is on the sites
thanks
