New album has a different feel. Might be my favorite already.

It hasn\'t completely sunk in for me yet.  I might need to play a bit more without distractions, as it has been getting play while making dinner etc.

I doubt I\'ll dig on it to the extent I like Hebron Gate or Rockamovya.

As a local band, they played close to 5 Bay Area shows on the last tour (Feb\'s Marley Tribute) so I\'d say we\'re spoiled.

You are definitely spoiled al. Hebron Gate and Rockamovya are definitely two of my favorite albums (Hebron being my absolute favorite for some time now), but I can\'t get enough of Here I Am already. It has literally gotten 90% of my iPod\'s play time since I loaded it a few weeks ago. The first four tracks are unbelievable. Especially "Time Came." The guest vocals are so sweet, and the sax solo is something Karl D would masturbate to.

I think I\'m falling for it because of the different vibe it has too. I liked Upon The Bridge a lot, but I started wondering if Groundation was able to produce something original unto themselves after a few very similar albums. I think Rockamovya sparked a new direction.

Have you seen them with any guests live al? That\'d be something to see, I\'m sure.

I\'ve seen them play with Will Bernard and Horsemouth on the Marley tour - and they played a few Rockamovya tunes for very good measure.  Can\'t remember any other specific guests.

Holy shit that\'s hilarious!

He has the wrong song name in the story though, which will probably bring about some assholes calling Groundation bullshit. It\'s actually "Waterfall" off of the album Each One Teach One, and Fergie\'s tune basically rips off the entire horn line verbatim. It\'s just faster.

That\'s their one downfall. He\'s too assertive and it really can get annoying. But the music is fucking sick. And live his voice is way more tolerable.

I would have to agree with gordo that live the music is so fucking groovy you don\'t have time to get annoyed by his voice. However I could not help but laugh during is on stage banter in which he continues to use his rasta man voice. It is absolutely hilarious to see a 5\'5 jewish looking man bust out the rasta voice to praise ja and ala fo da ***** on the most highest of mountains high.. BO BO

just saw them last night at higher ground. so good! i agree, lose the accent for stage banter but i am bnot annoyed by his voice at all, even on studio shit. sometimes it sounds goofy, but at least its unique. also, the phrasing of his vocals is pretty badass, esp on any tracks from "Hebron Gate" and "Each One Teach One". just got the new album, pumped to give it a listen.

Dream might be one of his best vocal tracks. I like Confusing Situation a lot too, Waterfall.... there are plenty of tracks he nails, but a lot of the time it\'s just too much.

Great that you got to see them Lexi! It\'s been a long time comin.....
