Urban Fetch - Official Thread
« on: February 05, 2008, 11:20:40 pm »
Hey everyone,

So Urban Fetch has been competing in the Bodog Battle of the Bands.  I\'m sure some of you are familiar with it.  Thousands upon thousands of bands sign up to compete for a spot on the Bodog Battle TV show on Fuse.  This past saturday, Urban Fetch played the Regional Semi-Finals at The Blender Theater in Manhattan.  We managed first place out of the thirteen bands on the bill (after having already beaten out about 25 other acts from the first two rounds).  Anyways, now that Bodog Music has crowned us the best unsigned band in New York (*pats self on back*), we\'ve got to battle it out in the Finals with the best of the entire northeast at Irving Plaza in Manhattan.

So here\'s where you come in.  I think with the right kind of support from our friends, family, and fans, we can definitely win this thing.  I\'d like to invite the tristate area based B\'Fam to Irving Plaza on WEDNESDAY MARCH 5th, 2008.  The doors open at 6pm, and I\'ll know exactly when our set time is in a couple weeks.  The tickets are $15 if you buy them from me, $20 at the door.  If you want a ticket, shoot me a PM and I will send it to you at my own expense, just paypal me for the ticket itself.

Out of all the UF shows I\'ve plugged on here, this is the one I REALLY would love for everyone to try and get out to.  It would really mean a lot to me and the rest of my band.  We\'re really feeling good about being able to outperform the other bands, so having the support of a large audience would really be the clincher.  Thanks so much guys and gals, I hope to see some of you there.

congrads jim. I\'ll have to check the work schedule, but in order to do this I would have to burn a vacation day. Hope to make it! Good luck if I can\'t!

Congratulations Jim! Livin\' the dream. Fuckin a\'.

I\'d go, but I live in Chicago.

Good luck.

Alright so I listened to a couple tracks of you guys a loong time ago, liked it, forgot about it.

I just listened to a few songs on your myspace, then watched a couple videos-- you guys are fucking sick Jim. I really, really like your sound.

So is the ep all you guys have out right now? Tour plans towards Chicago any time soon? Live shows I can download?

Seriously, I\'m in.

I just listened to all of the other bands up there and you guys should give it one hell of a shot. Half of those bands you can probably toss out of the running because they seem way too gimicky. There\'s four or five that are either original or just so tight in their style with solid vocals that they\'ll be considered. I think you guys have a great shot at taking this thing down. Your singer has a strong and distinctive voice, more so than any of the others. Good stuff.

Hey thanks gordo, glad you enjoy it.  The EP is the most recent release from us, but we\'re almost finished tracking a full length record, "Songs With No Names".  The songs on the record (you guessed it) dont have names.  Should be out in a couple months, and yes, there is some touring in the agenda, so we will def be out to chicago at some point.

bump!  the show\'s this wednesday.  big things to come for UF, we\'ve got some very influential people on our team right now, so once the new record is done (mid-late april) we\'ll most likely be hitting the road and seeing all of your respective necks of the woods.

oh also, we play at 9:30 this wed.

I just read this thread for the first time. Congrats Jim! How exciting!

I really wish I could be there but it looks like it will be impossible due to work/school. Best of luck!

Good luck Jim. I\'ve been listening to you guys often actually.

I\'m excited to hear the album + seeing you guys live if all moves along as planned. Exciting.
