Nice, I\'ll have to check it out... I love good music, but after an hour w/out vocals, the ADD starts to kick in... I had to break up Kung Fu into 30-45 minute segments...

I said the same thing last night about Kung Fu. Need some kind of vocal or something to keep me mind from wondering.

I\'m glad I\'m not the only one... I usually get slammed for that kind of comment... I love the music, but my musical tastes are vocally driven as well as musically...

The BTX Top "55" Boots MP3 Thread
by Leah on Nov 20, 2006 1:18 pm

There\'s been a fair amount of interest in the so-called "Top 55" shows (actually, by my count, I think there\'s 59 shows on the list on http://www.theboots.net). I used to have them listed in a special section on the index, but the index is getting a bit too big and unwieldy to keep that up. So, I thought I\'d post them here in a thread all by themselves so they\'d be easier to identify. (Please bear with me. This is a work in progress. I think I might\'ve missed a few from the index. I\'ll come back and plug in the holes as needed).

Of course, if you have any of the missing boots and would like to share, that would be wonderful.

01/13/1970 – Steel Mill, The Matrix Club, San Francisco, CA
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6O66RG6W

Set List: The War Is Over / Lady Walking Down The River / Jeannie I Want To Thank You / America Under Fire / Send That Boy To Jail / The Train Song / Going Down Slow / I Gotta Be Free

Notes: Steel Mill, one of several pre-E Street Bands Bruce formed, featured Danny Federici, Vini Lopez, and Vini Roslin (Robbin Thompson didn\'t join the band until the band returned to New Jersey the following month). After playing several dates in San Francisco early in 1970, the band records three songs for Bill Graham, who offers them a $1,000 recording contract which the band declines. Two of the three songs are included in this show, "He\'s Guilty" and "The Train Song"; the third song was "Goin\' Back to Georgia." Available on the CD "Live at the Matrix," which uses a soundboard recording as the source.

LOST IN THE FLOOD (start cut)(4.57)/ SPIRIT IN THE NIGHT (4.58 )/ CIRCUS SONG (4.48 )/ BISHOP DANCE (4.01)/ DOES THIS BUS STOP? (5.13)/ BLINDED BY THE LIGHT (5.30)/ THUNDERCRACK (10.43) ANNOUNCEMENTS

ONE show, 8PM, double bill, with Springsteen opening for headliners BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS. Ironically Bill Graham, who\'d nearly signed Bruce/Steel Mill 3 years earlier, orchestrated this concert. The above-mentioned setlist derives from an excellent quality soundboard recording that began circulating in the mid-1990\'s. Given Bruce\'s restricted performing time as the opening act, the circulating audio is likely to represent the complete performance. The circulating audio is missing the opening seconds of "Lost In The Flood".

Set List: New York Song / Circus Story / Spirit In The Night / Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street? / Hey Santa Anna / Tokoyo / Thundercrack
Notes: Broadcast on WMMR radio in Philadelphia, PA, this show highlights some of Bruce\'s early stories, including the hilarious draft avoidance story and the Ducky Slattery\'s "Wanna buy a duck?" story.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ITYWX8DT

Late Show: 4TH JULY ASBURY PARK (SANDY) (7.35)/ NEW YORK CITY SERENADE (8.40)/ SPIRIT IN THE NIGHT (5.16)/ DOES THIS BUS STOP? (4.14)/ SAINT IN THE CITY (3.14) (cut)/ YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME (7.46)/ THUNDERCRACK (13.32)

TWO shows, double bill, with Springsteen headlining and Nashville-based country singer-songwriter ALEX HARVEY on the undercard. Opening of a sellout, 3-night (6-show) residency. Springsteens second (late) show was broadcast live on WLIR-FM as part of its weekly Tuesday evening simulcast from My Father\'s Place. The above-mentioned setlist represents the circulating audio from this show. This very good (but not perfect) audio appears to have been taped off the airways and likely represents the entire broadcast, although the performance almost certainly included three or four additional songs that never went to air due to time limitations. Available on the CD "MY FATHER\'S PLACE" (Great Dane) and more recently in even better quality on the CD "JACKSONVILLE & MY FATHER\'S PLACE".

Yet another broadcast room acoustic show by Bruce and the band (minus Boom Carter). The above-mentioned setlist represents the entire performance and can be found in excellent broadcast quality on the CD "RADIO WAVES" (GDR). Unquestionably the highlight of this show is the unique acoustic performance of "Rosalita" - a genuine "must have" track.

02/05/1975 – The Main Point Club, Bryn Mawr, PA
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QXWIUVYL

Set List: Incident On 57th St / Mountain Of Love / Born To Run / E St Shuffle / Thunder Road / I Want You / Spirit In The Night / She\'s The One / Growin\' Up / Saint In The City / Jungleland / Kitty\'s Back / New York City Serenade / Rosalita / 4th of July Asbury Park (Sandy) / A Love So Fine / For You / Back In The USA

Notes: FM Broadcast. Broadcast on WMMR radio in Philadelphia, PA, this show is perhaps one of the most legendary shows of Bruce\'s career. Bruce is introduced by Ed Sciaky to start the broadcast. Suki Lahav played violin and added backing vocals on several tracks during this period, most notably "Incident on 57th Street." In fact, this may be the definitive version of "Incident on 57th Street." This was probably one of the best shows of the period, certiainly one of the longest. Another note about "Incident" is that during the closing bars of the song a police siren can be heard, which is very fitting. This was the premiere of "Thunder Road," actually called "Wings For Wheels" at this time, as well as "Back In The USA" and "Mountain Of Love." Available on the CDs "The Saint, The Incident & The Main Point Shuffle (MasterPlus),""You Can Trust Your Car To The Man That Wears the Star," "Prodigal Son at the Main Point," and Crystal Cat\'s "Main Point Night."

08/15/1975 – The Bottom Line, New York, NY
Part 1 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XFNIMJPB
Part 2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N7JDG0J1

Complete show:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4IIEYGQJ

Set List: 10th Ave Freeze Out / Spirit In The Night / And Then She Kissed Me / Growin\' Up / Saint In The City / E St Shuffle / Everytime That You Walk In The Room / She\'s The One / Born To Run / Kitty\'S Back / Thunder Road / Rosalita / 4th Of July Asbury Park (Sandy) / Quarter To Three

Notes: Broadcast on WNEW-FM in New York, NY, this show possibly represents the beginning of modern Bruce. Bruce had just completed the marathon recording sessions for Born to Run and the tour was ready to start. After a few warm-up gigs, the band hit the Big Apple and began their quest for super-stardom. Unfortunately, the hype started here as well, which culminated in the simultaneous cover stories on Newsweek and Time in October 1975. This show can be nominated as being among the best ever. The radio broadcast led to one of the first vinyl bootlegs back in 1976 called "The Great White Boss" (an allusion to the first bootleg ever, "The Great White Hope" of early Dylan demos). The show was later released on the CD "Live at The Bottom Line." In mid-2004, a fan was able to locate recording of the entire broadcast, DJ chatter and all, and "released" a more complete version called "The Way It Was." The bootleg label Godfather Records used that new complete recording as the source for their own "Punk Meets the Godfather."

10/02/1975 – Uptown Theatre, Milwaukee, WI
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LVIRD62V

Set List: Pre-Bomb Scare: Meeting Across The River / 10th Avenue Freeze Out / Spirit In The Night / Pretty Flamingo / She\'s The One / Born To Run / Thunder Road
Post-Bomb Scare: Little Queenie / The E Street Shuffle / It\'s Hard To Be A Saint In The City / Sha La La / Kitty\'s Back / Jungleland / Rosalita / Detroit Medley / 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) / Quarter To Three

Notes: Pre-scare: audience source. Post-scare: soundboard source. The (in)famous "Bomb Scare Show." Forty-five minutes into the concert, the building had to be cleared due to a bomb-scare. Bruce and the band evidently spent the time in the bar of the "Phhhhhhhhister" hotel continuing the "bomb" motif, if you know what I mean. Bruce came back to the stage feeling rather loose, and several times during "Little Queenie," he asked the audience, "Are ya loose?" starting a Bruce catch phrase that lasts to this day. Entire second set is from the soundboard. The second set also exists on a audience shot film. Available on the CDs "Milwaukee Bomb Scare Show" (Mistral Music) and "We Had Too Much To Drink Last Night" (BS). The audience tape of the first part of the show is rather mediocre and can be considered optional for collecting purposes.

From Brucebase:
Soundboard sourced but suffers from over-recording in parts. This was the first version of Night since the Bottom Line gigs in August. Miami Steve disappeared from the stage sometime around She\'s the One and didn\'t return. He had the flu. Released on CD "Teardrops On The Tower". A more recent soundboard upgrade tape has now circulated which has "Wear My Ring" in a different location and includes the final two tracks not on other releases.

NIGHT / TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT / SPIRIT IN THE NIGHT / IT\'S MY LIFE / THUNDER ROAD / SHE\'S THE ONE / BORN TO RUN / INCIDENT ON 57TH STREET / FRANKIE (6.13) / BACKSTREETS (7.09) / GROWIN\' UP (2.57) / IT\'S HARD TO BE A SAINT IN THE CITY (4.34) / BLINDED BY THE LIGHT (3.52) / JUNGLELAND (8.18 / ROSALITA (cut)(7.35) / 4TH JULY ASBURY PARK (SANDY) (6.12) / DETROIT MEDLEY (7.04) / QUARTER TO THREE (4.08

Soundboard tape - First known Blinded By The Light since 1974 ( and interestingly - an edited version as Bruce skips a verse for some reason - thanks Per) and Incident on 57th Street since September 1975. Released on CD "Live At The Allen Theatre" (BS). Most recent release is "Runners In The Night" (Doberman)

11/04/1976 - Streak of Light Through The Tunnel, Palladium, New York, NY
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PKPVPJVM

Set List: Night / Rendezvous / Spirit In The Night / It\'s My Life / Thunder Road / Mona - She\'s The One / Something In The Night / Backstreets / Growin\' Up / Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out / Jungleland / Rosalita / Baby I Love You / Walking In The Rain / Be My Baby / 4th of July Asbury Park (Sandy) / We Gotta Get Out Of This Place / Born To Run

Notes: Soundboard sourced. The second tour of 1976 wasn\'t on the agenda for Bruce, but the lawsuit between Bruce and Appel prevented Bruce from returning to the studio for the follow-up to Born to Run, so Bruce returned to the road. This tour featured "Rendezvous" and "Something in the Night," with different lyrics and musical arrangement than the version released on Darkness on the Edge of Town. This show was supposedly readied for airing on WBCN in Boston later in the year. Encores are something special for this show with Ronnie Spector guesting on 3 songs and an incredible version of "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place." Originally available on Great Dane Records\' "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," a remaster, utilizing several different sources, has surfaced called "Streak of Light Through the Tunnel."

Audience tape - features first Growin\' Up of the \'77 tour and the last version of Raise Your Hand in 1977. Released on CD "Soul Crusaders"

03/04/1977 - Jacksonville (& My Father\'s Place), Auditorium, Jacksonville, FL
Disk 1 http://www.megaupload.com/it/?d=U9VBG7YL
Disk 2 http://www.megaupload.com/it/?d=1F8L0R0P

Set List: Night / Rendezvous / Spirit In The Night / It\'s My Life / Thunder Road / Mona...She\'s The One / 10th Avenue Freezeout / Action In The Streets / Backstreets / Jungleland / Rosalita (Cut)

Notes: Although the tape is incomplete, the sound and performance of what does exist is incredible. The circulating tape is supposedly from the soundboard, and while that might not be 100% accurate, the sound is amazing. The introductory story to "It\'s My Life" is one of the best, again featuring Bruce talk about his relationship with his father, is very emotional. And this version of "Backstreets" could be nominated for one of the best ever. Available on the CD "Jacksonville (and My Father\'s Place)". (Should be noted that the sound quality on the bonus tracks from this CD, taken from Bruce\'s July 31, 1973, show at My Father\'s Place in Roslyn, NY, also sound great.)

03/25/1977 – Boston Music Hall, Boston, MA
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VZMY01E4

Set List: Night / Don\'t Look Back / Spirit In The Night / Incident On 57th St / Thunder Road / Mona - She\'s The One / 10th Ave Freeze Out / Action In The Street / Saint In The City / Backstreets / Jungleland / Rosalita / Born To Run / Quarter To Three / Little Latin Lupe Lu / You Can\'t Sit Down / Higher And Higher

Notes: The last night of 1977 tour, and probably one of the greatest shows ever. "Are you ready for the final moments?" Bruce yells as the music culminates into "Night." "Don\'t Look Back" is just intense, and unfortunately isn\'t played again until August 7, 1999, after it\'s release on Tracks. "Backstreets" features an extended introduction and arguably the best pre-"Sad Eyes" monologues: "I wish God would send some angels to blow this whole f***in\' town right into the sea." Available on the Great Dane Records release called "Forced to Confess," of which an upgrade has circulated called "Stranded in the Park."

07/07/1978 – The Roxy, Los Angeles, CA
Part 1 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EET1V250
Part 2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BLMFGI9L

Set List: Rave On / Badlands / Spirit In The Night / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / Candys Room / For You / Point Blank / Promised Land / Prove It All Night / Racing In The Street / Thunder Road / Paradise By The C / Fire / Adam Raised A Cain / Mona - She\'s The One / Growing Up / Saint In The City / Backstreets / Heartbreak Hotel / Rosalita / Independence Day / Born To Run / Because The Night / Raise Your Hand / Twist And Shout

Notes: FM Broadcast. Live broadcast on KMET radio in Los Angeles, CA and another contender for best show ever. Premieres of "Point Blank," "Rave On," and "Independence Day," which is performed solo on piano for only time on the tour. "Point Blank" features different lyrics to later versions and is played slightly differently. Several songs from this show are later used on the Live 75-85 CD set; unfortunately, the edits in "Growin\' Up" and, most notably, "Backstreets" show how much tinkering was done in the studio in preparation for that release. Once a person hears the unedited version of "Backstreets," they realize how disappointing the Live set actually was. Thus, this show must be heard in its unedited entirety. Available on CDs "Roxy Night" and "Hands Across the Sky."

19 Born to run
20 Because the night
21 Quarter to three

Notes: Soundboard sourced. In 1988, Backstreets Magazine had a "time machine contest" where they asked readers what show would they like to attend if they could go back in time and why. One reader said, "August 4, 1978. Explanation: \'Oh Boy.\'" \'Nuff said. This show includes the premiere of "Sherry Darling" with some different lyrics, as well as an oustanding version of "Oh Boy." Available on the CD "Oh Boy" from E St Records.

Notes: Broadcast on WMMS radio in Cleveland, OH. By early August, the Darkness tour was hitting full stride, with Bruce opening with either "Badlands" or rare covers, such as "Rave On," "Sweet Little Sixteen," or "Summertime Blues." The "Sad Eyes" portion of Backstreets is heartstopping, and the intros to "She\'s the One," whether it be "Mona" or "Not Fade Away" coupled with "Gloria" just rocked the house. August 9, 1978, featured all of the above and was one of the highlights of the 78 tour. The story during "Growin\' Up" was the "I was a Teenage Werewolf," which became legendary. Available on the CDs "The Teenage Werewolf," "Summertime Bruce," "Agora 78," "Just in Time For Summer," and "Agora Night."

Notes: Broadcast on KSAN in San Francisco, CA. The stretch run of the Darkness tour featured several differences from early in the tour, most notably Bruce\'s regular inclusion of "The Fever" and "Point Blank," as well as opening the second set with "The Ties That Bind." This show is another nomination for greatest show of all time, and another show with which you should start your collection. The performances of "Prove It All Night," "The Promised Land," and "Backstreets" are some of the best of all time. It was first released on CD by Great Dane Records as "Live in the Promised Land," and then Crystal Cat released their version called "Winterland Night," and the remasterer extraodinaire Prodigal Son released his version called "Prodigal Son at Winterland."

It should also be noted that this show was another of the early vinyl bootlegs, also called "Live in the Promised Land," but the source tape was from the broadcast and does not include the last two songs. By this time, Bruce knows that radio broadcasts really help the bootleg industry, and he dedicates "Racing in the Street" to all the guys on Kingsley and Ocean Avenues (along the Jersey Shore) who will hear this show "through the magic of bootlegging." This was Bruce\'s last radio broadcast until July 3, 1988.

------
notes:
* Mixed with another show to fill missing part

Many pops/clicks removed one by one, mixed missing parts with another soundboard shows from 1980, boosted audio levels on some quiet parts and so on. You\'ll hear the difference.
+many other improvements I never list

"Yellow Rose Of Texas" is originally just an intro to "Cadillac Ranch", that\'s the reason it fades out to "Fade Away".

------
Notes: One of only four (circulating) complete soundboard shows from the entire River tour, this show serves as one of the sources for the Live 75-85 set. This show includes several highlights from early in the tour, especially opening with Born to Run, as well as rare performances of "Jackson Cage" and "No Money Down" as an intro to "Cadillac Ranch." Another "highlight" may be the trio of "Stolen Car," "Wreck on the Highway," and "Point Blank." Available on the CDs "Heart and Soul" and "Tempe 80."

NIGHT / PROVE IT ALL NIGHT / SPIRIT IN THE NIGHT / DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN / INDEPENDENCE DAY / WHO\'LL STOP THE RAIN / THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND / THE PROMISED LAND / OUT IN THE STREET / RACING IN THE STREET / THE RIVER / BADLANDS / THUNDER ROAD / CADILLAC RANCH / SHERRY DARLING / HUNGRY HEART / MERRY XMAS BABY / FIRE / CANDYS ROOM / BECAUSE THE NIGHT / 4TH JULY ASBURY PARK (SANDY) / RENDEZVOUS / FADE AWAY / PRICE YOU PAY / WRECK ON THE HIGHWAY / TWO HEARTS / RAMROD / YOU CAN LOOK / HELD UP WITHOUT A GUN / IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR / AULD LANG SYNE / ROSALITA / SANTA CLAUS / JUNGLELAND / BORN TO RUN / DETROIT MEDLEY / TWIST AND SHOUT / RAISE YOUR HAND

Soundboard - last known version of Rendezvous and the premier live version of Held Up Without A Gun - a tremendous show and one of the longest known. Released on CD "Nassau Night" (Crystal Cat), "Midnight Lightning" (SEA) and on CDR "In The Midnight Hour". Audio recording of 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) from this show was officially released on the Live/1975-85 box set. In addition, that nights performance of Merry Christmas Baby was officially released on 7/12 vinyl in 1986 (as well as on the Very Special Christmas Various Artists benefit sampler LP/CD); Rendezvous was officially released on Tracks in 1998, and Held Up Without A Gun was officially released on the Essential Bruce Springsteen bonus CD in 2003. About 14 minutes worth of amateur film footage shot from the audience - including the Midnight Hour New Years countdown and the first seconds of 1981, with Bruce spraying champagne all over the front row - is circulating among collectors.

05/08/1981 – Johanneshovg Isstadion, Stockholm, Sweden
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UR21K4WW

Set List: Run Through The Jungle / Prove It All Night / The Ties That Bind / 10th Ave Freeze Out / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / Independence Day / Factory / Who\'ll Stop The Rain / Two Hearts / Out In The Street / Price You Pay / This Land Is Your Land / The River / The Promised Land / Badlands / Cadillac Ranch / Sherry Darlin\' / Hungry Heart / Because The Night / You Can Look But You Better Not Touch / Wreck On The Highway / Point Blank / Backstreets / Candy\'s Room / Ramrod / Rosalita / Born To Run / Detroit Medley (Including High School Confidential) / Can\'t Help Falling In Love / Rockin\' All Over The World / Twist And Shout

Notes: An amazing transformation took place between New Year\'s Eve 1980 and the summer of 1981. The fall 1980 River shows may have been among the longest of Bruce\'s career, but they didn\'t have the cohesiveness that marked Bruce\'s earlier career. The spring and summer of 1981 brought a much more focused Bruce to the stage. New songs in the set included "Rockin\' All Over the World," "Trapped," "Can\'t Help Falling in Love," "Follow That Dream," "Johnny Bye Bye," and the underplayed "Run Through the Jungle," performed twice in 1981 but only in Europe. This show, the second of two in Stockholm, showed off several of those news songs and the more focused set. This show was originally released on vinyl as Teardrops on the City from an audience tape, and a CD was later released under the same name. Unfortunately, the sound wasn\'t upgraded with the CD.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZCOL9M8Y in m4a

Set List: Who\'ll Stop The Rain / Prove It All Night / The Ties That Bind / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / Johnny Bye Bye / Independence Day / Trapped / Two Hearts / Out In The Street / Promised Land / The River / This Land Is Your Land / Badlands / Thunder Road / Hungry Heart / You Can Look But You Better Not Touch / Ramrod / Cadillac Ranch / Sherry Darlin\' / Jole Blon / Wreck On The Highway / Racing In The Street / Candy\'s Room / Ramrod / Rosalita / Jungleland / Ballard Of Easy Rider / Born To Run / Detroit Medley (including You Can\'t Sit Down, Sweet Soul Music, & Shake) / Twist And Shout

Notes: Possibly the most emotional show of Bruce\'s career, this benefit show starts with an introduction by Bobby Mueller, a disabled Vietnam veteran, and several band members reportedly had tears in their eyes when they started "Who\'ll Stop the Rain?," Credence Clearwater Revival\'s song about the Vietnam conflict. Bruce himself was overcome with emotional during "The River" and stopped singing at one point. This show features the one and only performance of "Ballad of Easy Rider." For years, this show was available in only mediocre quality, but an outstanding audience tape was finally located in 2001 and is available under two different titled sets: the fan-produced "Written on the Wall" and the silver disc version called "A Night for the Vietnam Veteran" from the Scorpio label. The original, less-than-stellar release was from the Winged Wheel label.

Notes: The fall leg of 1984 featured a more intense Bruce than the summer 1984 shows. The darker songs, such as "Johnny Bye Bye" and "State Trooper," were played more and more. In October, Bruce began switching the closing song of the set; for more than ten years, fans knew "Rosalita" would finish the set, but Bruce began alternating other songs in that slot, such as "Born to Run" and "Racing in the Street." This show features a gorgeous "Racing in the Street," as well as an extended "Nebraska set." Available on the CD "Kansas City Night" from an excellent audience tape.

Notes: Audience tape. After a very successful summer tour of Europe, Bruce brought the tour back to the U.S., this time in stadiums. Some fans felt the stadiums took away the intimacy of an arena show, and some fans felt Bruce didn\'t change the set list as frequently as he did in arena shows. But the last two weeks of the Born in the USA tour, and especially the last four shows at the LA Coliseum, showed Bruce really enjoying the homestretch. "Stand On It," premiered in August, became a staple of the encores, and "Janey, Don\'t You Lose Heart" was played in Los Angeles, the only E Street Band until August 7, 1999. Several songs, including "Born in the USA," "The Promised Land," and "Bobby Jean," were later included on the Live 1975-85.

Notes: After six weeks of rehearsals, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, along with the Horns of Love (formerly the Miami Horns), began the 1988 Tunnel of Love Express Tour. Bruce developed a concept show about relationships, which meant that the set list changed very little over the next several months. This show was chosen because everything was fresh and new, and because of the amazing keyboard intro to "Walk Like a Man," which was not played after the tour left Worcester. This show featured the debut of eight songs from Tunnel of Love, four additional previously unplayed songs, and "Be True," which was played only once before, as well as an acoustic "Born to Run." A CDR of this show, sourced from an audience recording, has circulated under the title "The First Date."

Notes: FM Broadcast. Something about the summer always brings out the best in Bruce, and the summer tour of 1988 is no exception. After what some fans called a very lackluster American tour, Bruce turned it on again in Europe. Older songs such as "Because the Night" and "Cadillac Ranch" returned to the set, and the newer material never sounded better. The first set, which times out at exactly 90 minutes, was broadcast on the radio all over the world, during which he announces his participation in Amnesty International\'s Human Rights Now! Tour. The first set, from the broadcast, is available on the CDs "Summer Night" and "Tunnel of Love Express Tour." The second set and the encores are now available on CDR as "Summer Night Part 2," and the sound quality, while not a broadcast, makes the second set come alive even years after the show.

Disc 1
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I0VE0B8N
Disc 2
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q3Z9DARH

This is the soundboard recording of the second Christic Concert November 17,1990 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The songs played on the first night which were not played on the second Night are on Disc 2 (including the best ever My Father\'s House)

Flynn says in his Top 55 section:

November 17, 1990, Set List: Brilliant Disguise / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / Mansion On The Hill / Reason To Believe / Red Headed Woman / 57 Channels / The Wish / Tougher Than The Rest / 10th Avenue Freeze Out / Soul Driver / State Trooper / Nebraska / When The Lights Go Out / Thunder Road / My Hometown / Real World / Highway 61 Revisited / Across The Borderline

Notes: After almost two years off from performing, not including surprise club gigs, and a year of a lot of personal change (he moved to LA, became a father, and broke up the E Street Band), Bruce agreed to do two acoustic shows for the Christic Institute, a public watchdog agency, with Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne. Many, many rumors of Bruce\'s recording activities circulated in the spring and summer of 1990, and many people wondered if Bruce was going to debut any new songs. Between the two nights, six new songs were played. The first night included the debuts of "Red Headed Woman," "When The Lights Go Out," "57 Channels," and "Real World." Other highlights from this show include a slow version on piano of "10th Avenue Freezeout," "Thunder Road" (Bruce forgets the words), and "My Hometown," as well as the acoustic premiere of "Darkness on the Edge of Town." "Real World" is performed on piano, which most fans prefer to the version later released on Human Touch.

The second show for the Christic Institute featured the premieres of "The Wish," a real rarity until the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour and later released on Tracks, and "Soul Driver," later released on Human Touch. Bruce also played "Tougher Than the Rest" on piano. "When the Lights Go Out" is never played again, but is released on Tracks.

According to an article in the Boston Globe a year later, bootleg tapes of these two shows were so good that Landau and Bruce considered releasing portions of these shows.

Set List: Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street? / Ain\'t Got No Home / This Hard Land / Better Days / Local Hero / Viva Las Vegas / All The Way Home / Tougher Than The Rest / When You\'Re Alone / Point Blank / Human Touch / Because The Night / Achy Breaky Heart / Blinded By The Light / My Hometown / Promised Land / Leap Of Faith / Mans Job / Roll Of The Dice / Bobby Jean / Glory Days / My Beautiful Reward / Janey Don\'t You Lose Heart

Notes: After taking the tour all over North America in the fall of 1992, Bruce went back to Europe in the spring of 1993. After a few weeks of rehearsing at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, Bruce and the band did a warm-up benefit show on March 23. Probably the most unusual set list of all time, including the one and only performance of "Achy Breaky Heart." Debuts of "Viva Las Vegas," "When You\'re Alone," and "This Hard Land." Second performance ever of "Ain\'t Got No Home." First performance in years of "Bus Stop," "Blinded by the Light," and "Point Blank." "Janey, Don\'t You Lose Heart" is dedicated to Dave Marsh and Barbara Carr in honor of their daugher, Kristin Ann Carr, who had recently passed away. This show has circulated on the fan-produced "release" "The Basie," and the sound quality was an improvement over previously circulating tapes. The soundcheck, which included Curtis Mayfield\'s "Warm and Tender Love," was filmed and Bruce did an interview with MTV Europe.

This upload includes the soundcheck, which was:
01 Warm And Tender Love
02 Human Touch
03 Because The Night
04 Brilliant Disguise
05 Soul Driver

Set List: The Ghost Of Tom Joad / Atlantic City / Straight Time / Highway 29 / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / State Trooper / Mansion On The Hill / Pilgrim In The Temple Of Love / Red Headed Woman / Brothers Under The Bridge / Born In The USA / Dry Lightning / Seeds / Youngstown / Sinaloa Cowboys / The Line / Balboa Park / Across The Border / Bobby Jean / This Hard Land / Streets Of Philadelphia / Galveston Bay / The Promised Land

Notes: After a second U.S. leg in January, Bruce took the The Ghost of Tom Joad Tour to Europe, and, as Bruce usually does, shook things up on the other side of the big pond. The London shows at Brixton Academy and Royal Albert Hall included many surprises, including the premieres (believe it or not) of "The Angel" from the Greetings album and a new song called "Pilgrim in the Temple of Love," also called "Santa Gets a Blow Job." Another highlight of the European tour was the totally reworked "The Promised Land," which featured Bruce using his guitar as more of a percussion instrument. However, the "New Promised Land," as some fans call it, must be heard live to be fully appreciated. Available on the CD "Brixton Night," which also includes bonus tracks from the other London shows.
Disc 3 has all London bonus tracks in similar quality

Notes: The third and final night in Asbury Park, NJ, in November 1996, this show included several guest apperances, including Little Steven, Danny Federici, Vini Lopez, Danny Gallagher, Soozie Tyrell, and Patti Scialfa. Bruce\'s introduction to "Red Headed Woman" is just hilarious, as he believes that if Bob Dole had endorsed cunnilingus rather than a fifteen percent tax cut, he would now be president. Available on the CD "Asbury Park Night."

Most of the "crap" that ends up in this thread is posted by you and I\'m sure that there\'s a handful of people that download each...

I put the bruce stuff here because people are always bitching about him w/out hearing his shows and this is what the most dedicated fans have deemed the top 55 shows from all eras...

I\'m just responding to you post as everyone has the ability to... No need to turn this into a conversation will most likely end with you telling me that you wouldn\'t piss on me if I was on fire or to KYS...  Fair enough?
