Meriden Record Journal, Sunday 2/19/06 page B-1

Quote
Who do you want to hear?
Help me Meriden - We asked you last sunday what band you would like to see come to celebrate the city\'s Bicentenial in june. The Bicentennial Steering Committee is negotiagion already (the word is they\'re after the Beach Boys), but it\'s fun, fun, fun to dream of the possibilities. Here are the responces:

[...] 5th responce:
"For the 20 year olds, I would recommend a local band from East Haven who has 4 CDs out and has traveled all over the U.S. and has won the Jammy awards at Madison Square Garden.

Let\'s see... Sean W. Moore is my mother\'s boss, and Kathryn R. Olson was my first grade teacher.  Who else do we know on this committee?  Let\'s sell us some Breakfast.
Go see your Breakfast, there are starving Leiths in California

Rob DeRosa books that event, and he happens to be a huge Breakfast fan.  we tried to get a date together for the Daffodil Festival, which he also books, but we couldn\'t fit it in with everything else going on.

I have discussed this event with Rob...he\'s sort of under mandate to make it a very \'Family" (read old) event, but some emails might help him convince the powers that be.

I don\'t have his email...but use the "contact" button at http://www.thinmanmusic.com

Hubbard park is such a great little area. They have great hiking trail up to \'castle craig\' (the tower you see when your driving on I-691 between 84 and 91/merritt), not to mention a good size band bowl with a nice big area to sit and watch the bands. I always thought it would be great to see the breakfast play there. Should have known Steff would be on it!
