come and play 11/30/09

that trailer gives us a very vague idea as to what is going on in this web series, but I am very excited.  I\'ve been lending my books to a buddy at work, so mental rehashing them everyday as he gets further, it\'s fun to see someone else get bitten by the DT bug.

Abrams Departs Dark Tower
Writer-director leaves Stephen King adaptation.
by Chris Tilly, IGN UK

UK, November 11, 2009 - Bad news for fans of Stephen King\'s Dark Tower series -- it seems that J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof are no longer on the project.

Having previously stated that they could start work on a feature around the time that TV series Lost wraps, the pair have now apparently had a change of heart.

Speaking to MTV, Abrams stated "The Dark Tower thing is tricky. It\'s such an important piece of writing. The truth is that Damon and I are not looking at that right now."

And with projects as large and diverse as Star Trek 2, M:I 4 and the recently announced Micronauts on their collective schedules, it looks like they won\'t get around to it any time soon.

Yes while that is somewhat disappointing, king said last night at a live appearance in NYC that he is working on another DT book. It will take place between Wizard & Glass, & Wolves of the Calla. He also said it will not contain Roland or other main characters it will revolve around secondary characters!!

I am excited as hell for this one!! Under the Dome should be delivered by tomorrow!!

I have not heard that.  That\'s really good news.  Can\'t wait. Under the Dome looks really good, but I\'ve been a slacker when it comes to reading lately.

It was just that if anyone could do a DT movie I think it would be JJ

Not sure if I like the idea of another DT book that goes back in time to tell part of a story of someone that wasn\'t a central character...  That would be like Mario Puzo (if he were alive) going back and writing a book about the story surrounding the death of Peter Clemensa...  I\'m sure I\'ll read this book, but after Dark Tower book 7, I\'m not sure why you would go back in time...

that was sorta my initial reaction too, but I know myself well enough to know that I\'ll gobble up anything DT related.
