Your Top 5 Albums & Music DVDs of 2003...
« on: December 18, 2003, 01:43:21 pm »
now that the year is coming to a close, list your top 5 albums released in 2003, in order...

mine:

5. Nappy Roots - Wooden Leather
4. Pearl Jam - Lost Dogs
3. The Beatles - Let It Be Naked
2. Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
1. Radiohead - Hail To The Theif

tough call between radiohead and outkast for me, but i think HTTT wins by a hair...

utter crap of 2003:

Metallica - St. Anger
Dave Matthews - Some Devil

top 5 music dvds of 2003:

5. Tenacious D - The Complete Master Works
4. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Live At Slane
3. Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You
2. Pearl Jam - Live At The Garden
1. Dave Matthews Band - Central Park

both cd\'s and dvd\'s were tough for me to decide - cd\'s because i don\'t really think there were too many good albums released this year, and dvd\'s because i bought a shitload of music dvds (more than cds).... but, those are my lists and i\'m stickin\' to \'em..

Top 5 CD\'s:

1.  Diverse - 8am
2.  Outkast - Speakerboxxx/Love Below
3.  Randy Brecker - 34th N Lex
4.  Hieroglyphics - Full Circle
5.  Danilo Perez - ...Till Then

3 hip-hop and two jazz...yup...Rock and Roll is dead.  Nice showings from Radiohead and a couple of rock jambands, but with RHCP, Pearl Jam, and Phish all long past their studio prime, rock is fucked.

On a brighter note, Hail to the Thief and Speakerboxxx might be the two best albums to hit #1 in the last five years.

Props to Leith...I never thought I\'d see someone else with Hieroglyphics on their list.  Bet you didn\'t either, especially from an east coaster.  HIERO IS BACK BABY!!

I\'m not buying music videos right now.

I\'ll get that Leith.  I kinda stopped trying to keep track of all of them when I was extremely dissapointed with Del\'s "No Need for Alarm".

I can\'t believe you saw them.  That\'s just too cool.  Did they do any Third Eye Vision joints?  Oh yeah, I ment to tell you:

One Life One Love

Intricate so simple

Wolfman I can not even explain how fun they were. They did dune methane, mics of the round table, 1 life 1 love and a couple others . Mainly new stuff and some solo joints from casual, pep, and del.

CD\'s

5 Pearl Jam - Lost Dogs
4 miles davis - The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions
3 Radiohead - Hail to the thief
2 Rush - Rush in Rio
1 FZ - Halloween

DVD\'s
5 Pearl Jam - Showbox
4 RHCP - Live at Slane Castle
3 Pearl Jam - Live at the Garden
2 Rush - Rush in Rio
1 FZ - Baby Snakes

PJ\'s showbox probably wouldnt be on the list if I had seen pink floyd or zeppelin, but alas, if I havent seen it i cant vote for it.I agree with wolf. Out of my entire list, with the exception of radioheads album, everything is older bands playing mostly older songs. Thank god we finnaly got some dvds out of the vault. still waiting on 200 motels...
