Not sure if any of the band members read this board (or anyone of any importance insofar as booking shows, filing complaints, etc.) but...
I\'m a long time, die hard PB fan. I\'ve met many of you recently, some of you I\'ve known for 8 years. Today was the first time I\'ve ever walked up to a Breakfast show and became so appalled that I turned around, money in hand, and went home.
Long story short: I park in Stonebridge parking lot (where I ALWAYS park when I go to Daniel St. since it\'s OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE). My girlfriend and I (2 x $10) walk up to the door to be told by the perpetually grimacing bouncer guy that we have to move the car because "that parking lot is for Stonebridge customers only". I ask him if he\'s joking. He\'s not. I ask again. He\'s not. I ask him where, then, should I park since I\'ve parked in this lot EVERY SINGLE TIME I\'VE EVER COME HERE. He tells me, "Try the bank or the train station."
Listen...as much as I love PB and everything they\'ve ever sonically enhanced in my life, I\'m not about to kowtow to these Daniel St./Stonebridge assholes. The drinks are too high priced. The proprietors are too uptight. Fuck this venue. I\'m not parking in the train station parking lot--especially if there are a HALF DOZEN spaces NOT TAKEN in the parking lot I\'m ALREADY in--when I\'m just as viable a customer, spending just as much money as the couple who\'s eating their Sunday dinner at the "real" restaurant (as opposed to the bastard "fake" club).
Sorry I missed the show, boys. Sorry you lost my money (and my girlfriend\'s money...and my buddy Tim\'s money because he refused to patronize Daniel St. out of principle after I informed him of my circumstances on my way home). I love your music more than you know and I would\'ve loved to celebrate this glorious holiday with ya\'ll.
I\'m sure the show rocked. But you should tell the Conines and co. to shove it.
Thanks for listening to me vent.
Hope the show was everything I was hoping for and more for everyone who didn\'t mind parking a half a mile away for no good reason.
Rock.
