so they had a small piece on the nbc news this morning about people outraged over tickets to some pop-crap disney singer I never heard of playing in ct where the tickets are selling for upwards of $500-5,000 each and people are outraged because the show sold out and it\'s all agency tickets now.
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said that "the prices are that way because of a law that was recently dropped that in the past allowed me to prosecute ticketing agencies and scalpers. With the new settings, they are allowed to go in and buy up thousands of tickets simultaneously, blocking fans from getting anything so that they are forced to purchase from the agency if they want to see the show at all, and then charging any amount they want for a handling fee" [sic]
He continued, "There is no reason for this law to have been revoked and I am outraged at out state government for passing a new law that serves to help no one while preventing me from prosecuting criminals. All Connecticut residents should be outraged at their elected officials right now." [sic]
not a word for word quote but pretty close. Glad someone has the balls to call them out on this shit.
