I thought Surreal Radio was actually a pretty good take... if only the levels were tweaked a little it would be truly ass-kickin

But I always liked that song ;)

I like HB -  I agree about it being maybe the weakest of the cd.
ME is by far the best record this band has put out.

I think Future Peek, psygn and OE are my favs.
I thought for sure FP - GT & SR would have been the focus tracks for radio

It still amazes me that Deuce was so frickin awesome and that\'s with 5 years less experience as a band (or however long ago that was)...

to take another page from mr. maturo\'s book - can you imagine if the band recorded deuce in 2006? :wah:

(note: not sure if he meant with or without jordan, but i would guess with.)

Well I\'m not sure what you mean by that question Dave... but I honestly do think Deuce is a better album. I can\'t see it being recorded the way it was in 2006, of course, because a lot of the songs on the album have evolved significantly since then.

I mean, you just don\'t hear old-school Buquebi anymore like on the album,... but at the time that was a good representation of the way they played Buquebus live, at least during the earlier PB shows I caught.

So, in that sense, no.

But here\'s the thing. When Deuce came out, it was a masterpiece for the band at the time. Each track was just about a perfect take... even See The Light which was shortened for the album was done so beautifully and creatively. Mooboo\'s Voodoo and Buquebus on that album are fantastic. The thing about that album was all the subtleties... and somehow the instruments and vocals sound better too--- waaay better than Real Radio and still somewhat better than Moxie Epoxy. More-- dimensional, more clear, more subtle.

Moxie Epoxy, to me, is simply a bunch of pretty-good recordings of their new songs, that sound pretty good. Pretty good is pretty good (better than Real Radio thatsfordamnsure) but I know The Breakfast has the ability to make another mindblowing album. Moxie ain\'t it for me.

I know part of my opinion is formed on the fact that I am not 100% behind the new direction the band seems to be taking. By that I mean rocking harder in general. I mean, I love hard rock and some metal, shit, Tool is like my 2nd favorite band... but that\'s not what Breakfast does best IMO and to see Tim playing power chords in between shreddin\' solos is cool, but its not why I fell in love with PB.

Eppy 3 is an exception to me and gives me hope that this hard-rockin-ness is not a permanent swing in the direction of the band. In fact I\'m glad they left it off this album, hopefully it will be on the next album with more intricate instrumentally-driven songs like it.

thats my 2 cents (see what you get when you actually ask for my opinion hahah)

... and with that said, the best show I ever saw them play was still just a couple months ago in Burlington. So it ain\'t like I\'m even close to being jaded with the band... faaar from it!

what i mean is -

i believe deuce is their best album.

i also believe that the band is exponentially better then they were in 2001.

deuce is amazing, and that was the band in 2001. can you imagine what it would sound like if they recorded it today??

hopefully that clears it up..

Ahh gotcha. Well if they recorded it today lets just say they\'d definitely need to make it a two-disk CD ;)

I\'m glad I\'m not alone in the opinion that Deuce rules the studio but also that Breakfast 2006 rules the stage
