pirated ableton live = beats galore.  steep learning curve tho.

as for the article; I think the music industry is just catching up to the technological revolution that has occurred.  As time goes on, online corporations will merge into music empires and uberstars will become the new superstars.  As for artists not in the mainstream, I think technology offers bountiful opportunity.
