Thanx Reed Mathis (TLG content)

Reed Mathis loves being in TLG!

He is having the time of his life and it totally shows in his playing. He did not use any effects but just played the Bass like a MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 2 shows this past weekend were amazing in that it really showed me what a band that is that good can do with so little time and with a player of Reed\'s caliber.
They did not miss a beat and actually rocked way harder than ever really.

It made me feel better about the upcoming loss of Ron and what that late January Daniel St. gig will be like.

Great to hear leith. Reed is so fucking good, hardly a surprise here. I never liked Chambers as a player, he bored me.

Is Mathis definitely a permanent member? Is he indefinitely wearing Green? Or is this just going to be an extended fill?
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

So far it\'s all tentative. I had an in depth talk with him concerning his position and come to find out he was really good friends with Ben. He was telling me how he always thought Ben\'s Bass lines were the glue in alot of TLG jams because they were so silky subtle and smooth. He  went on to say that that was his biggest worry was being able to achieve that flow at all.
He was also very hungry for feedback and is really excited to be in a Rock and Roll band. He said he\'s been wanting to be in one for so long and it feels really good.

I suggest you check out the 2 shows when they go up on LMA. Even the really really longtime fans were like "This is a whole new band".

Good news. Will do.

You\'ve gotta\' be in an excited whirlwind with your 2 favorite touring bands and all of their changes of late.

It was so funny because I have been turning all sorts of Leafers onto The Breakfast lately and a lot of them I had not seen in person for awhile so many of them were like" Dude what is it with you and bands you like?"

It was so good Nick really Reed fits in so naturally and I am really just enjoying the shows I can as much as I can because it probably will not last just because Reed and Brian Haas of JFJO have been playing music since they were kids and I do not see that stopping. It\'s possible for him to do both but he\'s not sure how well that could work.

It gave me hope though as Ben helped found TLG and no matter what people say he was an integral part of the band\'s sound and the Green in TLG (dropping the G in TLG was discussed) and they are just fine w/ him gone. There are no hard feelings between any of the guys and Ben. Ben just did not want to do this anymore and needed a career change.
Hmmm  Ron is leaving for the same reason, and many feel the same way about him and The Breakfast so.....

Me=Excited for 2008 for sure!

Partial Reed solo.

Even with the shaky quality, that shit sounds awesome. I hope they come to Chicago while Reed is still on board. They\'ve jumped up ... :chin: I guess a lotta\' notches in my book with this change.

Funny to see Reed say his biggest worry was being as silky smooth as Chambers when I consider him one of the silkiest smoothest bassists on the scene. I think he was just being respectful and humble. He knew what his tips o\' velour would bring.
