What The Funk / Re: Big Up 7/29/11? Daytime Set

Hi frolfer thanks for the reply. I was a bit late to the party but I’m a diehard Breakfast fan and think they are easily one of the best psychedelic bands of all time. As for the small fest I figured it out, it was Heads in Harmony 9/29-9/30 2012 in Norridgewock, Maine. Dopapod headlined and I think they played right after The Breakfast.

tom, welcome to the board!!

In my mind, there's always a chance that the Big Up '11 turns up. You never know. I know there's tons of dank shows just waiting for the light. Shit, there's tons of dank shows on the LMA now! But I want to hear them all.

As far as the small fest you described, the only thing that really lines up to me is 7/29-30/2016, Wild Woods up in NH. The 29th looks like a real short set and the 30th is a full, two set affair with a Gladys in Set 2. That one is on the archive.

Hope that helps!  8)

What The Funk / Big Up 7/29/11? Daytime Set

This is really random but I’ve never been able to find this show. The first Big Up in 2010 was incredible. The Breakfast played in a tiny little barn around 10pm on the first night of the festival and blew the fucking roof off the place. I still have flashbacks to that Synergy jam. That show is on the LMA.

The second Big Up was a bit of shitshow, at least for me. Weird scene. I remember Marco Benevento playing probably the worst show I’ve ever seen on the first night: dude was black out drunk, pissed off, screaming at his bandmates, chugging a bottle of Jack and not even trying to play in time. That kind of sums up the overall vibe… However, The Breakfast played a killer daytime set on the main stage the next day. I was pretty out of it that whole weekend but I remember a sick version of Mayfly and torrential rain starting literally the second we made it back to our tent from that set.

Is there any chance of shows like this ever popping up on the LMA? I think the date was 7/29/11. There was another small fest too I forget the name of, possibly in 2012 - not Fusion Fest. It might’ve been in October or November. Breakfast played Thursday and Friday night. The Thursday show was meh if I recall but Friday was epic. Standout in my extremely hazy memory was Gladys.
