Well after having the wind taken out of my sails by having the Webster show cut short an hour, the hatches were battend down as we hit the Buffalo Creek music festival.  The scene was chill and there was no pressure as we were the first band to hit the stage at 8pm.  The band that followed us, Green Lemon, were very amicable in letting us play for over 2 hours.  We were going to do 2 sets but the boys made a decision on stage to not stop and keep rocking worlds till the bitter end.........The sound and lights were amazing and the music was tight.  The crowd kept growing through the whole set till there had to be about 300 getting down in and around the shed.....After the set and we were fully loaded out, the Breakfast band and crew enjoyed the festival scene to its fullest raging the grounds till the last moment........Love Lake was ser.  Hot For Teacher was perfect.  Sir Psycho got the juices flowing and Tunage was the jamma of the night........

band and crew were great people.  a young band out of colorado with a very mini bisco thing going on.  i will be curious to see and hear them as they develop their sound and grow as musicians.  very and easily dancable music.  they bring the party.  i didnt mean the mini bisco thing as an insult, just as its the easiest way to describe their sound.  i was raging the shit out of their set in between balloons and various other jaunts out into the madness of the field/lot.

however they did steal our hotel rooms, but since it was most likely an honest mistake and  they drove way further than us, i cannot hold it against them.  we got 5 minutes outside of the fest grounds and had to make one more bathroom stop.....as we were waiting to get back in the van,the  green lemon van pulled up to us.  they were pretty lost and since we had directions they followed us in.  we were on at 8 pm and them at 11, so they went to check in at the hotel.  there were 4 rooms reserved for the bands 2 for us and 2 for green lemon.  we got to the hotel around 2 am or so and found that our reservation was given away.  so it appears that when they checked in they inadvertantly thought that all 4 rooms were for them......we stayed across the way at the Stink Winkler Roadside Inn.

All in all a way hilarious experience........

Question: So tell me why they couldn\'t play Chase, Love Lake, and Tunage Friday like I asked??

Answer: They love to rub it in my face!

Escher\'s Etching (part 1) without Part 2 = heads being scratched at the end of the show

I remember when that used to be one song

From the looks of it, a very smart set to play at a festival. Looks like they definitely catered to where they were playing which is wise. A definite high energy set.

yep. last time they played it was the same kinda thing - smart song selections to keep the energy high for the all college aged crowd (i was easily 10-12 years older than everyone else there - sadness descends) with a good cover for everyone to be able to grab onto and get re-energized by!

i\'ve gotta say, it really seems like (with the exception of the webster bugs) they\'re really reading their audiences well lately and tailoring the song selection to the crowds much better than before. i mean, i know if they had a big packed raging crowd they\'d drop a rufus kinda thing, but it really seems like they\'re getting a lot more subtly attuned lately. which is a huge growth step for any band!

i\'m curious to hear cut me some slack. Stevie, could you possibly give me a verbal breakdown? i mean, does it sound as sick as it used to? better than it used to? lacking?
last time i saw them play it was 4/22/06 at the middle east and it was grimey. its a cool instrumetnal, i hope its back for good.

Lex, I would say its still quite "grimey"......Def jazz funk.........The River St. Jazz Cafe bustout was better than the Buff Creek version IMHO.....but still ser....and actually the Switch Up Slack was better than the Buff Creek version too.....but I may just be splitting hairs here.......

I am pretty sure its back in the rotation so its just a matter of time before you get to hear it for yourself....
