Wow thanx so much Chris. That song is great. I can see why everyone is stoked. If PB is gonna start writing stuff like this.....
I really wasn\'t sure how mature their songwriting was but i hear now how it is. This song has so much room to explore in the middle. It IS a song full of love JOE. Wow thanx again chris. I hope they have more songs like this in them. Do not get me wrong I love the aggro energy of a PB show but damn I\'m getting old and need a few "pretty songs" to chill to. God I dig this band more and more each day.

vera st. ..dont know what inspired it, but it is a sweet song that is  a good way for the band to test their vocals and harmonizing and all that. its deff a cool song. should only sound better as they play it more. since we wont be seein Pb for a bit we should get Tim to play it on wed.

Where is Vera St?  Anybody have the lyrics?  What is the signifigance?
Title: Vera Street
Post by: leith on January 07, 2004, 01:30:26 am
The lyrics seem to describe the singer remembering a memorable time w/ a lil hottie.  ON Vera St. As for the significance come on now, the guyz gotta have something to themselves.

i quote adrien, 10/31/03 pre-show: \'Tim wrote it about some girl he was seeing for a while. thats the street she lived on in staven.\'

editors note: mave have said \'is seeing\', dont remember. Vera st is a (1 way?) road in east haven off of short beach road / rt142.

Tim has been plagued by a sore throat lately, and if there\'s one song that would be affected by that, it\'s Vera St.

Lots of repeats to flesh out the newer material and some songs link w/ other songs easier than others thus some of the same segues and transitions are found also. No big deal.
Cafe 9 should be insane as the new material will have a winter and spring tour behind it. damn lucky least coasters.

@ VERA STREET

Thoughts of her flow into me like an
Incoming tide of a love filled sea
Moonlight shines in the distance of the night like her
Smile when she gazes at a beautiful sight
Times running out to sweep her away for
She knows not one place she liked to stay
Travelin’ and bafflin’ every turn
Time for me to start exploring this girl

Lying down on a marsh mellow rug with a
Pillow made from someone else’s blood
Wanting the moment to stretch on and on like a
Recurring dream you don’t know where it’s from
We both hold hands and exchange a kiss and
The world outside absorbs our bliss
The universe will stop harm from here for the
Love we have there is no fear

Making the night last forever
I wish we were together
Memories of you in the summer heat
‘Bout the love we had on Vera Street

My eyes tiptoe on her skin again I
Notice her creamy color blend
Soft warm supple epidermal heights her
Skeleton strong due to her life
Nose and toes and fingers so
Peaceful ringing out her soul
Hair that melts the heart in me she
Belongs in the sky for all to see

Her lips light up from a touch of a fingertip
Shining like a drunk full of rosy red wine
Time to take sip from my wishing glass
We’ll intoxicate our sexual sides
Tides of a sparkling summer wave linger
By like lullaby in the night
“Outta sight”, she said as she sprang from her bed
Leaving footprints full of golden stride

Permanent Shelf!

I don\'t think that there should be such a thing as "permanent shelf", and don\'t think that there is, provided Matt has learned the song. So maybe Za, Prom \'97, and possibly Gypsy Girl are permanently shelved.

On a side note, does anybody know if Matt has learned (or ever heard) some of those ancient songs?

Vera Street is a great song, IMO. That and Score got me hooked on this band. I think it\'s a great song to pull in new fans with and see how much potential this band has.

I mean it has great lyrics, a nice structure, and it shows listeners that they can jam.

vera street owns,  its not being played is severely unjust.  its great in timmy tour format, for a midset chill song(i\'d rather hear it than most recent good things\') and i could think of other songs that deserve a shelving over it.

i think its very interesting how a song title can draw you into listening to the song if you havent heard it before.  when im first getting into a band and i dont know their material, i tend to chose songs by if they have a cool title.  i cant explain it but certain song titles make it sound like the song is probably good.

for example...vera street just looks like it would be a good song...others that first drew me in from the breakfasts catalogue include buquebus, mooboo\'s voodoo (episode 2), sundance, garcian fishbowl, eschers etchings, glady\'s pimp and kangaroos with me, hard luck harry, love lake, psygn, phaddy boom baddy, the grand scheme of things, son of simpleton, among others.  these looked like they would be good songs by the titles (not to say they all are)

some ones that i didnt listen to for a while becuase the names were turn offs include bugs, the chase, doughboy, fairy, inner glimpse, puppetry, rust, score, tricky ways, the vermont song
