While I have complete faith that the band rocked the fuck out of it, I question (on paper) how Bugs could possibly follow Over Exposure > TGSOT as a set closer.

bugs was a cool ending, they were running late and the guy who was gonna let em play later had temporarily vanished (gaf), so they had to get off stage (damn you, douchebag bartenders), much to the dismay of a ser crowd.  despite sound issues :cough cough: the show sounded great.
tuneage is SER! lookout honey butter, tuneage is the new heart-pumping-a-miilion mph ragefest. i need to hear it again. and again.

and again.

jams into d5 and ldz were larger than life and hdx>overexposeure was one of the grimiest segues i\'ve ever heard. all in all an amzing two shows, hard to gauge which was better although i was a little more emotionally attached to second night.
eldwayno and Grill Master= the saviours of sanity
i love you guys, wish yall wre there

The three day run looked incredible.  Congrats to all who made it out.  The reviews of "Tuneage" have my curiosity piqued big time.  You Lucky Bastards!  Meanwhile, I sit here in Chicagoland freezing my ass off and dreaming of Summer Camp and potential Breakfast invite and t00r (Freddie, you got me goin\' dude).

Great couple of shows in Syracuse... If I had to choose, I personally liked the first night better, but they were very close.  It\'s a shame the encore got killed on the second night... was going to be a very cool first time played that I would have loved to hear.

Nice seeing all the usual suspects and meeting others for the first time!  I had a blast.

Until next time........

wow... what an awesome run of shows!!!  I personally liked Night #2 much better - Tuneage will be a SICK song @ future shows :awwyeah: The crowd was bigger on Saturday also.  My highlight was Scheme>BB>LDZ>HDX>OE>Scheme.  I\'m sorry to have missed some of the dogshit downstairs (i think!) & sorry that I didn\'t get to say goodbye to AlZ & Marcial too.

& thanks to mama for driving us home afterwards

note to the skeevey white trash looking taper dude with the jordan hat on:

LIGHTEN UP AND ENJOY THE SHOW!!!!!

You are serly lucky I wasn\'t wasted and billigerent when you tapped me on the shoulder and scowled at me for talking too close to your mics! I only had two beers in me and it was still very hard for me to bite my tounge at your lame ass outa line tape nazi behavior.

I was at least 8 feet away from the mics, talking normally and in no way ruining or even comprimising the quality of the recording. That is beside the point tho because if your going to be THAT uptight about crowd chatter I would recomend  NOT setting up an aud recording in a place that size right behind the merch table.  Ask for sbd patch or  don\'t even bother to set up if your going to be that anal and harass people for talking to thier friends within 10 feet of your mics!

I hope the recording came out good because I can\'t imagine your night was very enjoyable if you wasted it all spazzing out about every person daring to speak within the confines of your no talking zone.

second set definitely owned. i liked over exposure without late and the great (the best part of late and the great is over exposure ha!) the bugs ending wasn\'t spectacular. the band was going to play a cover i would have loved to hear/heard them rehearsing earlier that evening... bugs as a set closer/encore=meh to the tenth power. the first night was definitely a better show for me than saturday.

i\'m wondering if it was the same guy as last time..... was he also doing a video recording of the show. if he was you should have seen him starring down Esther last time bouncing her light up ball all over the place and running around i thought the guy was gonna flip out. and to this day that show still hasn\'t surfaced. the Welcome to this World from that night was freak\'n awesome

I liked night 2 only slightly better than night one, mostly because of the Ser Scheme Samich (the bread was the best part), but set one was rockin as well. Especially Mayfly, Episode 3, & Tunage. I personally feel like I have seen better OE\'s but this one was definately rockin don\'t get me wrong. Tim was just making too much hissing noise in the middle while he was playing with his peddles. I actually couldn\'t tell if he was having problems or if he was trying to do that, I think there was a feedback issue. Chadwick did a good job on sound though esp. considering the stage is surrounded by windows. Thanks to Todd & Robin for letting me crash in yer room and for driving!!! Good to meat you Marcial and Eldwayno.

face\'s rearranged setlist owned.... but i think first night owned me a bit more.... second sets both night were unreal tho

the first two posts of this thread pretty much sum up my thoughts exactly at the end of the show......   bugs? after scheme(theultimate second set closer by any band for any show ever)? no encore? ......... mildly depressing, but not enough to ruin the euphoria of a ragin, taint influenced two nights of debauchery in cuse....

pleasure to finally meet fierybill, eldwayno, alz, and marcial.... but how did i miss klout... do i know you already? who are you?

so thank you to Broseph (I refer to The Grillmaster\'s bearded friend as Broseph.  Though no one person is Broseph, he definitely saved my ass that night)

Okay this is getting waaay out of hand now.

All I was suggesting was for this dude to chill on the over the top, unfriendly, no-talking-zone enforcement.

Quote from: raoulduke;133773
I generally don\'t record at the Mezz because the room is just too damn small and cramped for mics .....the recordings come out chatty and it\'s a nightmare protecting your gear at this venue b/c it\'s so damn small

Clearly no bar is a GOOD place to tape.  Its  almost always a tiny space packed to capacity with loud, rowdy, off-balance, beverage holding, oblivious, DRUNK people! Its brave and valiant of you to even attempt taping under these conditions. We understand your heightened anxiety levels  due to these circumstances but cut us some slack and refrain from taking it too far (i.e scolding us for speaking). You have to live with the fact that people are going to talk...probably loudly....probably within a few feet of your mics. I don’t enjoy listening to tapes with lots of loud chatter either, no one really does.....but the fact of the matter is.... ITS AN AUDIENCE RECODING IN BAR. Deal with it.

Quote from: raoulduke;133773

I will give y\'all some friendly, free advice though; do not EVER touch gear or threaten to harm gear that belongs to audio or video recordists at shows.  If I ever see anyone even remotely close to grabbing my microphones or gear bag, or waving beer around my stuff, I will not hesitate to physically move you away from my property and I will do it forcefully and without remorse.

Ummmm....Dude..... chill....seriously....You don\'t need to make violent threats. We understand your situation and position.

No one is threatening or planning to harm or touch your gear or spray it with a champagne bottle. Why would we want to?  We know its expensive and fragile equipment and that your more anal and protective about it than we could ever even comprehend. I can\'t speak for every single person at every tb show but its pretty safe to say that everyone reading this has been to enough shows and has enough common sense to realize that tapers don\'t like their equipment touched, bumped or drenched in beer.

So just have a little faith in that, stand your guard, relax a little bit, enjoy the show, and leave the rough stuff to the bouncers...

mmmkay? :) Thanks in Advance. Klout.

next time you see that particular taper would you say that to his face?  i don\'t think you would and that\'s what i\'m trying to get at.  tapers may be uptight sometimes and get overbearing with peeps but that doesn\'t give you the right to bad mouth us after the fact.  if you\'ve got a problem settle it right there, don\'t go talking shit about someone after the fact, that\'s what children do, not adults.  if you\'ve got a problem, settle it then verbally in person, don\'t drudge it up in the public forum.

hey fellah ...are you totally brain dead or just a little slow?

your advice is that I should have settled it verbally right then and there.....

Man, hostility going on in here...can\'t we all just love some music?

Sounds like everyone had a great time. Wish I could have made it, but I have a 10-day trip to San Fran next month for spring break to finance. This whole Tuneage thing has me interested...can\'t wait until some sort of recording surfaces. The Mezzanote is definitely a small place, but it can draw a crowd. Glad to hear of a good turnout.

i know all about tapers and what happens when they\'re not on guard about protecting there equipment. i\'m a pretty big dude and one of my buddies used to pay for me to get into shows if i would stand in front of his recording equipment and keep an extra eye out and i couldn\'t tell you how many time someone has come by and tried to walk behind me and grab on to the mic stand and i just push them right off. it wasn\'t my equipment but i understood what he went through to get all that stuff. people yelling to each other or talking is another story though but most people don\'t understand how sensitive the mics are and how loud they talk especially after drinking all night. i can understand both points and you guys are kind of arguing the same point in a way.

raoulduke, thanks for your efforts they are much appreciated by everyone here and then some. Klout, that guy, if it was the someone was def. a bit over the top but what are you gonna do, some people are just dickheads.

I\'m not saying if "you" come "close" to my stuff I\'m gonna clock you in the head, not that at all.  I\'m just saying respect my space and my equipment and I will respect "you".  Yelling directly into the microphones because "you" want to be on the recording is not cool and i won\'t hesitate to tell "you" so.  If "you" came to the gig to yell at your friend all night next to "you", fine, just don\'t do it directly under my microphones or right next to me.  I came for the music and don\'t give a shit how many times "you" finger banged Sally Rotten Crotch last week and how great her snatch is.

This isn\'t directed at anyone in particular and I quoted the posts above b/c I happened to come across them when reading about how the shows were last weekend.  I mainly record the band at the Electric Co. in Utica or at Beardslee Castle so please don\'t hesitate to buy me a beer or catch me a buzz if you run into me.  I\'m a nice guy (really I am) just don\'t fuck with my equipment or there will be one less taper going to your shows, I can promise you that.

Regards -
Tim

Spoke to the taper last night at u-melt, his battery died during the show at somepoint and so it\'s looking like of the three nights from CNY last weekend, only the one show will surface, however the video crew did get the whole show and will have it up on you tube
