This set list is the reason why you don\'t miss a show in driving distance:kicks self in ass:...DAMN IT!!!!!
Curious how long this show was.........anybody?
-
Great show. I did not intend to go for the opener, but they were really good too.
For some reason, they have played Asscracks at EVERY show I have been to.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all you cats.
-
absolutely incredible evening.
Buquebus > Rufus intro to end the first set was ballsy.
ahh, driving home at 7am wasted, priceless.
-
wow, i thought getting in at 4 was late...
-
we got back to CT around 9am.
oh and if I forgot to mention, this may have been the best if not number 2 breakfast show. It was musical and no self-promotion (i.e. visit the merch). (You\'ll hear its all about 6/10, but this made me think different about the 3rd set of the PH)
I hope that a copy of this show ends up on the internet quick, take a listen to the way they finished Rufus in the first set to get a vibe of the whole night.
Close to a sell-out and there was minimal grassroots done, outside of Whatthefunk.
-
:hair:
-
That show was F*CKING on fire last night!!!!
:holyshit:
:jawdrop:
-
so was that a dyslexic rufus?
-
so was that a dyslexic rufus?
They played the Rufus intro to end the first set and then finished the song at the start of the second set.
The jamming between Buquebus>Rufus>Buquebus was flawless.

wow...can\'t say just one thing about any particular song in the setlist. i love all of them and this looks unbelieveable. queeb>rufus..are these guys trying to kill people?! really wish i could of made it up..if i didn\'t have to be stuck here for xmas festivities i would have been at the show. can\'t wait to hear it. i made the mistake of leaving my phone in my car last night when i got home and missed what would of been an interesting phone call at 5:40AM from wolf\'s party. thanks to all who left that hilarious message. :)

well, it was a group decision to drive home. it was done well and should never be done again.

interesting phone call indeed. what a show!

Should have been...........Should have been

all I know is that the boys brought out thier motherfuckin A game last night. I was a bit worried about the crowd turnout due to all of the colleges and universities in the area being closed for break, but it was pretty much packed the whole time. Garcian Fishbowl > Gravity > Bugs > Gravity > Garcian Fishbowl- this shit was insane!! they really are craftsmen when it comes to putting together segwiches like this and having them executed so smoothly.. Sequoia sounded real tasty on Bugs- vocally and on the ivories.. Good Things sounds better everytime I hear it, it is always good to have a catchy tune that gives people on/off stage some breathing/down time.. Buquebus>Rufus to close the set was the best case of blue balls I have ever experienced. Set II started right where they left off... the tempo changes were nicely drawn out and carried along nice organic segues. the second set reminded me a lot like second night of SPAC from pheesh\'s last tour.. well rounded, energetic and a big, beautiful orgy of sound. WPOAC had the place going nuts.. I could hear an LDZ @ every show I attend, and am thankful it is still thrown around in the mix. dobz has his knob tweeking down to a perfection these days, and myself and others seem to be appreciating the addition of Ellis and his visual madness.... can\'t wait for Philly>Hartford... good to see everyone as always

sorry about that. i vaguely remember a \'DUDE WHERE IS HOLLY, LET\'S CALL HER\' moment at wolfies....
that show was insane. i just woke up. happy holidays. i\'m late for dinner.
-
the chitterchatter i been hearin ever since the show ended is "best show ever?"..
imo,not at all...
dont get me wrong, they were up to no frickin good on that stage..
punk nasty was all over the place..
the jam in buquebus was outta the gates technotrancy..
adrian just kept buildin and buildin until he couldnt build no more..
the encore,to me,was the highlight.
i always get a kick outta the goofyass smile tpalms throws on when hes walin the drumkit.man in me was not even an option..ser.adrain=on top of his strat game, per usual..
id give the show 8.5/10
NOT EVEN CLOSE TO 6/10 OR 8/20
on a sidenote, who ever said you should rest up and get some sleep on xmas eve?????
-
The Bfast fan voice of reason Wah? Who woulda thunk it?
Adrian on Man in Me musta been as SER as SER gets.
-
i mean, dont get me wrong,it was a stellar show.kids were losin their minds last night.all im sayin is 6/10 is untouchable.puppetry>mooboos>wuiac>mooboos>puppetry.nuffsaid
-
I have no doubt it was stellar but to hear a vet like you NOT saying Best Ever makes me think that there is some balance to the reviews. That\'s all, resume your PreChristmas activities.

Are you the brunette chick who left at 6am?
-
There was attitude last night in their music. I\'ll have to listen 6/10 again but for myself, last night surpassed the 8/20.
-
what part of rufus did they start the second set with?
-
basically the beginning of the song minus the intro.
-
Close to a sell-out and there was minimal grassroots done, outside of Whatthefunk.
Actually, there were some 50 fliers around UMass Dartmouth, mainly in the Group II, Library and Dion buildings, but I put some up in Group 1 too.
I wrote in:
"End finals and start break with The Breakfast" follwed by the venue info, etc.
-
The Concrete Prison.
I use to attend UMass-Dartmouth.
Good to hear that some grassroots happened there. Good Work!
-
Am I the first person to point out that there\'s a slow Merge missing from the setlist?
-

Yes, you are!
Good fucking eye. I knew the setlist looked different but b/c my brain is so fried today, I didn\'t even realize.
Slow Merge was sick!

Great, great time last night. The crowd was pretty dense and very loud at all the right moments. One of the best first sets I can ever remember. Incredible shifts in dynamics from psychedelic to hard rockin to soulful to playful to spacey and all points in between. Kinda had the feel of a Phish show, and I mean that in a good way. Gravity jam reached mega cruising altitude, though I thought Bugs was misplaced coming out of it. (To be fair, I\'m not such a big fan of Bugs.) The rest of the double-decker palindrome segue back to Garcian was awesome, especially the last Garcian jam which came just as you thought Gravity was going to end. They played the first parts of Buquebus and Rufus only, leaving both unfinished before the second set. Doesn\'t matter what team you\'re on, Buqubus > Rufus is about as ser as it can ever get.
Going into second set I was curious how they would attack the unfinished business of both Buquebus and Rufus. Open with one, close with the other? Nope, open with Rufus jam, then into Buquebus. Holla! The second Buquebus jam hit this insane industrial beat with Jordan\'s synth behind it all repeatedly playing what sounded like an alarm siren. I kept picturing a secret underground biological testing facility that had just become contaminated. The alarm is going off and everyone is scrambling around like mad to save themselves and the self destruct sequence is activated. This was the jam to that scene. (btw this scene is actually in the movie "The Andromeda Strain.") So that was nutty, as was the rest of the set. The problem with the rest of the set was the lack of dynamic shift. They went for the huge rock jam every time. Even when they changed song, it felt like they were back at the same high-furiousness jam again within a couple of minutes. You gotta have contrast to make all that seem even bigger. It\'s about the ups and downs. If last night\'s second set were sex, it would be like taking your woman and railing her as hard as you could for 60 minutes straight. For a few minutes that\'s all well and good, but over the long run you gotta change things up to get some contrast going and make everything seem more pronounced. Man In Me is a really really good cover. A lot of people know it, nobody else plays it, and it\'s a fun party epilogue tune. Good encore.
Thanks to everyone who came over, great time! Boy do I love hosting parties. I woke up at 3PM today after that madness. There was lots of ball-breaking...specifically the silver shiny balls on the Christmas tree. I hope we get to do it again soon. Special thanks to Steve and Elysa for my "Christmas Miracle." :)
Great times, see you soon!
-
Wolf - Thanks for having us last evening, it was a splendid time. Thanks for the Holiday mug.
Where else can you go to a post-show party and get real glass mugs to KEEP while drinking out of the keg.
Very classy.

-

and, elisa thanks for driving :)
i can\'t say anything else about the show that hasn\'t been said already... i can\'t wait for the download!
-
Did anyone find an orange & green patterned knife? It most likely fell out of my pocket in Todd\'s car or on one of the couches at Wolfman\'s apt.
-
All I can say is that it was a ser throwdown in Cambridge on Friday night.....
I haven\'t gotten down that hard at a breakfast show since 8-20, and I heard some stuff from these guys that, yet again, I didnt think they were capable of doing....From the trancy get down stuff to ser MMW\'ish funk to off the planet plain ole freakin out it was a night to remember indeed.....

-
i can\'t belive i miss 12/23/05
Since you are so utterly surprised to be feeling nostaligic for last Friday night\'s show, do this mean you normally regret going to Breakfast shows in the days after they are played?
-
First wrong forum.
You\'re new you\'ll learn.lol
Second I love your post the DAY b4 12/23.
Latent psychic powers?
Thats a hard one
rufus is a realy good song but buquebus is a little better but not by much
it would be could to see a buquebus sandwich with rufus in the middle but i realy don\'t see that happening
that would be a shocker
LOL
-

-

lesson why you never miss a show that you are capable of getting to
-
the whole show was completely nuts. i cant think of one specific part of the show that was my highlight because it was all so damn good.
Spacy and Aruny, thanks for the rides, i (we?) was in rough shape. Al z, good to meet you, Wolfman thanks for your hospitality.
-
Real rough shape.
Lucky we are alive.

Nice to meet you as well, hope you were comfortable passed out/slumped over in that chair.
Seems there are quite a few Breakfast fans in the vicinity of Sunapee, NH (10 or so). Continue the recruitment efforts!

New hampshire loves the breakfast
-
^^^^^^^
-
I brought some friends with me to the show - the same friends I brought with me to see them 11/17 at Stone Chruch. Now, they say that they were bored with this show because there was a noticable lack of dancing, and that the set lists of the two nights were the same. I told them they were idiots and should have paid more attention to the show than to making out...but what are you going to do?
I really enjoyed the show, Bequbus is quickly becoming my favorite song of theirs, and I always love Wild Pack.
Happy New Year cats, enjoy the Webster.
Any idea when tapes will be up for this show?
-
lack of dancing? are they sure they weren\'t downstairs or outside?
-
the only songs i recall they played at both the stone church and cambridge were beef and buquebus. other than that, they are definitely too different shows....and both were RAGIN\'.
-
Tell them they are nuckin\' futs!!!
-
lack of p33ps getting down= lame ass Boston crowds, always..
-
New hampshire loves the breakfast
fuckin right new hampshire like the breakfast:bounce2:
they kick ass :guitar:
best band going right now.:disco:
-
This show is out of control
i never thought they would play a show like that
it sucks that i miss it
i hope they do a show like it again
i would be realy be shocked

-
who would have thought that they would play buquebus rufus rufus Buquebus
there was enough of us to make it happen.
-
the tapes are hot. too bad about that rufus cut/fade in
-

I am partially to blame for the tape not getting turned in on time and it really is a short amount of the song missed if I remember correctly.
-
^^^^^ i\'m going to kick dobson\'s ass for that one. i dont care how how much is cut off...it\'s fuckin rufus man.
-

Well, at least Buquebus is ok.
it was Jason-A\'s recording on archive and that is the tape that I think he is referring to. If Dobson has a recording, get him to release the first couple minutes of Rufus.

dont think he does. i had the gear, he had the cable and we talked about hooking something up for a soundboard recording before the show. but after that the next thing i remember clearly was leaving late night and riding home in the car.
-
fitzy, i still cant believe you don\'t remember ANY of this show :wah:

very little unfortunately.

yeah, jason-a\'s recording is the only one in existance of this show.
