Is this a 3rd set or a very SER encore?
This show looks absolutely sick. I can never forgive myself for missing such a weekend.
I can\'t wait to hear the stories from the front lines. This has proved to be a very SER weekend, hopefully those tapers get these shows up pronto.
-
So who went to moe.down and didn\'t see TB anyway?
-
no i never made it to moe.down. couldnt risk driving w/o a license so i just never went, instead i went to the bar where umelt was playing and promoted how much better the bfast is then umelt and well any other jamband in the community

SER FACE OWNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
Ripped it up, the Crowd was SCREAMING for an Encore that they could not provide. They won over many new faces. Definitly the most packed Beer tent show I\'ve ever seen at moe.down. 4/6 years. It Raged, many peeps were completely blown away. Moe was a yawn after that shit. Nice meeting all you kids this weekend, although I\'m the only one home. I couldn\'t take another night of moe.

Just got back from the down.....only gonna give a short review (full one will come later after some rest). All I can say is saturday was one of the best days of my life. That gravity was INSANE......and then there was buqubeus....a MONSTER, really got that place moving. Tons of new fans were made that night. It was taped by several people. Nice to meet a bunch of new people from the board, more to come later.....
p.s. Moe. was tight on saturday, and terripin was sick on sunday

32:00 3rd set on the bt. consider it an encore, no?
-
nope.
for those confused about the 3 sets, the schedule looked like this:
6:45 - 7:45 - The Breakfast (TENT)
7:45 - 9:15 - MMW (main stage)
9:15 - 10:00 - The Breakfast (TENT)
10:00 - 11:30 - moe. (main stage)
11:30 - 12:00 - The Breakfast (TENT)
12:00 - 2:00 - moe. (main stage)
-
thats cool. that woulda been the shit standing around watching MMW for an hour and a half, going nuts about the first set, real excited about the 2nd. repeat second time around. only leading up to that 30 min. spot i cant even imagine what was goin through peoples minds. and then..... :scared:
good stuff.
-
i have never seen that many people that blown away by the breakfast...heads and newbs alike. after every set and the next day people couldnt even understand what had happened...but they knew they loved every second of it.
-
what an amazing weekend.. i don\'t even know where to begin..
moe.down was a great success. i have to say that i was a little disappointed with the crowd in the first set.. lighter than i expected.. it was a pretty good set musically.. escher\'s was defintiely a notable, as was may fly.. doughboy was a nice strong closer to make people want more in the next 2 sets.
when the crowd left to head up for MMW, they definitely did their job. word of the Breakfast spread like wildfire during MMW\'s set, and by the time the band had started set 2, the tent was stuffed!
set 2 was even better.. WUIAC opener - awesome. the jam into SB was also quite good. BB wasn\'t as good as some of the ones we\'ve seen lately, but it was still above average. Gravity was off the hook, and taking it into TONT really took the show to another level. everyone was rocking out HARD during TONT! the segue back into gravity was a little sloppy, but still pleasing. Gravity was supposed to be the set closer, but during the 2nd half of it, the band was granted one more song, so WPOA was thrown in.. a damn good one, i might add. the end of WPOA was off the hook, and people were screaming when it was over. great set.
with only a half hour for the band to play in between moe.\'s sets, i wasn\'t expecting a lot of people to leave their spots to come down to see the b\'fast.. boy was i wrong! the tent was even more stuffed for set 3, and the band managed to floor everyone there. the buquebus was MONUMENTAL! huge, just huge. and the segue into the scheme was seamless. perfect, perfect, perfect. only problem was they sort of ran out of time towards the end of TGSOT, so you will hear that the end comes a little rushed. still could have not asked for anything more from the set.
after set 3, a lot of people stayed, and were making a lot of noise for an encore. people really wanted it, and for about 5-6 minutes, people were really loud. it looked like they were thinking about giving the band an encore, as moe. still hadn\'t started their set, but finally, they decided to not give the band an encore.. still though, the fact that people were NOT leaving to go see moe. was a huge victory, imo.
great success. well done, breakfast, and welcome, new fans!
-
man that is so great that they stuffed the house for 2&3.
-
great little review Dave. Glad that people were owned.
-
owned might be an understatement. the 3rd set owned me more that i\'ve ever been in my life. so packed with intensity. escher\'s had so much insane high points, there were times even i didnt even know what to do, let alone all the people seeing the band for the first time. adrian was hitting his drums so hard at the end of doughboy i thought he was going to bust em. gravity>taboo>gravity = ridiculous. they can really take gravity far now a days. awesome space city opened up the 3rd, then right into buquebus. i knew the set was only 30 minutes, and they were jamming buquebus really hard, so i started to think maybe they were just going to play a monster monster sized one. i talked with tim before 10kl and said he should save scheme for moe down, and it seemed like that made sense to him. so ever since then i\'ve been banking on one at the festie , and when they did the seamless segue from buquebus into tgsot, i couldnt think of anything in the entire world that was more perfect than that situation. my arms didnt leave the air until about 5 mintues after the show was over. i was so floored, and so happy with the results of what the band did that night.......i honestly couldn\'t have asked more a single thing more. really the only problem was seeing the band unless you were right up front. there were so many people packed in there you could only really see tim and ron\'s heads above the crowd. there was a mini glowstick war in the 3rd set i believe........made things a little interesting. i really liked that they didnt play a cover too, even though a shakedown would have been nice. overall........well worth every second of every hastle ( even tho there wasn\'t many - the weather was perfect, no traffic, barley any mud) and the breakfast just made it what it actually became. can\'t wait to see them on the main stage next year
-
ah, i forgot to mention the glowsticks.. first glowstick war broke out in sleeping beauty, then there was another (i believe) towards the end of the 3rd set..
-
nice review b
-
ahhh, so damn happy for all of you.
glad a glowstick war happened.
Dave - Did you pass out cds with the .info on it? How\'d it go?
-
i had close to 200 cds that the girls passed out with the first batch of digests in the first set. i don\'t think they lasted more than 15 minutes..
-
^^^^^^^^ they ate them up, the real radio ones too........ or as many as were available when they were wanted
-
Great news and a terrific job done by the .info Angels.
Good to know. Hopefully we see many new faces around this place.
-
looooooooong weekend.
good to meet
mama
leith
princess
anyone else I met from the board and forgot (sorry!)
random incidents of the weekend
1. stepping out of my tent and saying to fitz "I\'m gonna go call...", planning to say Todd anderson and Steve Gencs RIGHT AS THEY WALK IN FRONT OF ME.
2. finding out that the reason that anderson/gencs walked by me was because they were on there way to oldnewbies, who was 2 tents away! (also unknown)
3. hearing about the casino and all that damn rukus.
4. Japan tour 2006!!
5. Seeing Dobs pissed at me because I had a more powerful backstage pass then he did.
6. Having some random guy come up to me, say "Paul Ryan, whats up.... I\'m Leith" and then watching a camera for me
7. Pulling in at 12 am friday night and being on stage by 12:15am shooting video for moe.
8. Myself and Fitz havig access to a private room with bathtub/shower/toliet etc.
9. Laughing when fitz said he never found the room.
10. breakfast sat night kicking ser ass. unfortunetly I was only in the tent for set 1 but I heard set 2 and 3 from nearby.
11. Thinking how damn loud it was in the tent, and yet still being able to hear steve gencs whistle come through.
12. Todd - dude, wheres your car?
13. Leith - you rented a haunted car from the sounds of it.
14. Getting paid for going to a festival for free with backstage passes and free meals, ect.
15. Watching the show from the stage.
16. Only seeing 1 breakfast digest on the ground for the whole weekend!
17. seeing a ton of newbies with their jaws on the floor.
18. Meeting mama and sharing my 1 slice of pizza against my will ;)
19. Meeting and working with the people responsible for the phish IT pbs documentary, and trading info for future colaborations...
all in all the set I watched, 6 out of 10, 10 being the puppet house night 2 set 3. I\'ve seen better, but the newbies were blown away and thats what this was all about. we\'ll know how the digests did if a bunch of people start showing up on the message board.
quote of the weekend:
"The stage tech came up to me after we got off and said we were increadible. That means alot. These guys at festivals are busting there asses all day with band after band after band shuffling through, and all they are usually thinking about is how fast they can get you off of the stage after your set. When one of them says you blew me away, you know you did alright."
- Ron Spears, after set 1.
-
12. Todd - dude, wheres your car?
13. Leith - you rented a haunted car from the sounds of it.
is this a weekend recap or random high school yearbook quotes?? lol
seriously though, good to hear the weekend was a great success. wish I could have been there for it!
-
random yes, but funny nonetheless
-
This was bound to happen for all you guys. Congrates to everyone on a hugely successful weekend. Raise your GLASS to.... "The turn of the page"
-
That shit was intensity in tent city. by far the best beer tent set to ever grace a moe.down stage. hopefully they\'ll get invited back next year and get bumped up to the mainstage. The Asscracks set 3 closer was my request, so i\'m happy timmy was thinking of me when he realized there was more time left. i\'ve got nothing to say about set 3. it speaks for itself.
that last post was me by the way(Igzy).
err, you get the idea. this is not postom.

moe.down review<<<<<<<<<<:jawdrop:
Sounds like a real good time. Glad everyone have fun and got back to reality safe. Cant wait to here more storys...
-
good lord! these reviews are reeediculous.
-
i have chills reading all the reviews of this show. i\'m so damn happy!
-
what a fantastic weekend!!!
the breakfast were HUGE!!!!!!!! many new fans, i walked around and handed out digests with sallyalli... many people we approached with the digests were already excited for the band, so it was really nice to assist in their anticipation... i honestly only saw a few fliers in the trash/on the ground -- i expected to see many more.... a very very good sign i would say!!
the moe.heads were more than welcoming to the breakfast and their pack of serheads that follow.... i felt so at home at this moe.down even though it was the first time. couldn\'t have asked for a better environment for the breakfast. i used the analogy this weekend : the breakfast at moe.down is like milk meeting cookies for the first time....
... this weekend was monumental in the timeline of the breakfast... i\'m so glad to have been part of it ... thanks to everyone on this run who made it so incredibly special... wont be forgetting this weekend anytime soon :D
-
yeah, it was so great to spend time w/ my breakfast family at my favorite place on earth. so you glad you guys could make it(elisa, sallyalli, gavin, gencs, leith, holly, and everyone else....).
-
i said it before and i\'ll say it again, i love you all very much. from the bottom of my heart.
-
The reviews are sweet...sounds like so much fun.
listening to gravity and blown away...this band is ser bass kickers
Reminds me of this (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/23/AR2005082301229.html) article I read a while back. TB have reinvigorated my thirst for ass kickin music
-
Seems like this was a huge success. A friend of mine from Colorado (by way of New Hampshire) said they were very good and alot of people she talked to were very impressed. Just posting what she said for an outside view since she is not a .infoer. I also found this searching google news, how dumb can ya get. 15 days in jail too.:
A man from New Hampshire found out the hard way it’s cheaper in the long run to simply buy a ticket to a concert, rather than sneak in.
22-year-old Zachary J. Libby of Piermont, New Hampshire was arrested at the Moe Down concert at Snow Ridge in Turin after security personnel caught him sneaking into the venue twice in the same day. According to Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies, security at the concert found Libby on the concert grounds without a ticket and escorted him off the property. A short time later they found him again inside the concert area, still without having purchased a ticket.
Libby plead guilty in town of Turin court to charges of trespassing. He was fined $250 and sentenced to 15 days in the Lewis County jail.

Sounds like moe.down kicked all sorts of ser asscracks. I\'m glad everyone had such a good time. What a great festival slot. Thanks to princess caspian, mamalakabubadaya, and sallyalli (Wolfy\'s Angels) for the distribution of Breakfast Digest! You guys are amazing. Boy am I psyched...I can\'t even sit down anymore! Excuse me while I go do the dancing banana...

deja vu....
-
Wolfy, kudos to your Angels. It took a little motivation by Bosley to get the ball rolling, but once they focused through the mountain induced haze of Friday night > Saturday, they handed out about 75% of the printed digests from before the 1st set and through to after the 3rd set.
All the CD\'s went before the first set was halfway over. It was great to walk around the camp and not see it littered with yellow and blue digests and to hear The Breakfast playing in a camp here and there.....
What a weekend indeed....
I dont want to say to much here as I am working on a weekend in review as I type this post.....
-
well one thing I must say which I do not think was said is how about the quality of the sound!!!! Dobs did an outstanding job very loud sickning even in a good way. I have a few highlights,
1.Right after the grand scheme, three or four people came up to me and said they could not belive how good this band was, they knew who they were but never saw them play. At this point moe. had started playing they replied to me they did not even want to see moe. they just kept saying amazing, amazing, dazed and confused at what they had just witnessed.
2. my children came with me and they have listened to sleeping beauty quite a few times, the looks on their faces for this song was great, so much in fact when we got up in the morning they both were singing it in the tents, this actually got peoples attention who also knew the breakfast and got everyone laughing.
So for me this weekend was great to be here to see them perform fantastic, as i am sure you all can agree to those shows were there are few people and to see this the energy was great, like someone had said before this is a new chapter, with the new management company here they go!!!!
great to see everyone cobby you said it best love you all great to see everyone the breakfast family is the best one around!!!!
-
For those interested, my review of The Breakfast\'s throwdown is up in the review section.

I agree the sound was great
moe down was the loudest and clearest I have heard jordan in probly 15 shows. that was great! even without the organ. he was rippin it all night and you could hear every note
-
4. Japan tour 2006!!
12. Todd - dude, wheres your car?
13. Leith - you rented a haunted car from the sounds of it.

Yeah Japan is going to be sick!!! Saving $$ now.
Todd losing his car was pretty damn funny really.
Yeah Fitz and I were trippin\' on that car.
This quote is so true. Stagehands see so many crappy bands when they are stoked to hear a band worth something they will mention it.
-
The best thing I saw was Ellis having stage hands help him take his lights down, he was ser schwilled out

For a second, I thought I was going to have to start saving money, (lol), for a Japan Breakfast run.
The only thing I know that is worth the trip to Japan musically is the Fuji Rock Festival.
-
No Big Frog wants The Breakfast to open. That\'s why I\'m saving all my $$ . I may sell my Vegoose pkg. actually.
-
^^^^^^^ what are you talking about guy??????
-
Well the cat is outta the bag anyway so I\'ll spill the beans. I believe the word was that Big Frog LOVED The Breakfast and want them to go out there in 2006. No one remembers Paul telling us that? He was Ser as Hell too!

steve man, you got bad memory! this is, word for word, what you said when we told you the first time on monday! :P
This is all rumour. It goes that someone from big frog came up to either dobs or jordan and asked them what they would think about co-running a tour over on the other east coast. Depending on who you listen to it sound more or less believable.
In the mean time, in an average %, americans are saving less of the money per takehome (post tax) earnings than they did in decades, so you putting some of that cash in your savings account will help in the long run either way.
-
no i mean some peeps i talked to who went to moe.down were telling me the breakfast played 3 sets sat. during moe. setbreaks but others said they played another set sunday.
-
no set sunday. tim played at porter\'s sunday. the breakfast playing another set on sunday at moe. down = pretty much completely impossible even if i did happen.
-
thats what i though so.

Anyone care to estimate how many dropped jaws may have been present beneath the tent for set 3?

Anyone care to estimate how many dropped jaws may have been present beneath the tent for set 3?
I was\'nt there but, I can imagine that you had to high step it through the tent not to step on peoples faces, our jaws...
-
Anyone care to estimate how many dropped jaws may have been present beneath the tent for set 3?
I heard estimates from 700-1000....
but anyone who was at the main stage or in the vicinity could hear the sets loud and clear...

That high huh? I can not even pretend to know but it seemed for sure more than 500. It was so hard to tell because EVERYBODY was dancing. Well except the few I saw that were just kind of standing still in shock. LOL
But Gencs is right in that it was heard by all in the vicinity of that tent whether they were listening or not!
-
Hearing the Buquebus last night at Dobz\' house, I still feel that the PuppetHouse \'Queeb still takes it...the moe.down version is good but never really left the main theme long enough to bring it to the level that the sonic insanity which was the PH \'Queeb was. That being said the transition jam into tGSoT is one of the smoothest segues that the Breakfast has ever pulled off.
-
^^^^^ i agree. moe. down\'s was not as good as puppet house\'s, but it was definetly the 2nd best buquebus i\'ve heard. the segue into scheme was by far my best breakfast/ live music experience ever.

thats fucked. i do like him on the SG a lot though. still, i hope it was someone who knows the epicness of that axe and not just some random "dude, grab that guitar" bullshit.

Are you ser?
I hope the fucker/fuckers who stole it (and his rig) is/are already dead..... and I hope it was a slow and painful death... i am sure it was the latter by the way....

ummm yeah. i was speaking on behalf of the realistic approach. obviously i dont support Breakfast thieves. like i said, thats fucked. but it is what it is and whoever has it better cherish it like something more than just a guitar. thats all my point was.
-
I had no idea that happened that really sucks
-
yeah....when i\'m leaving town for the weekend, i like to park my car in a commuter lot with all my valuables in it. i mean, what could be safer than that. i especially like to leave things that i need to make my living. it just makes life so much more interesting.
then it\'s really fun to watch all my friends blame everybody else except me. i couldn\'t be the dumb ass!!!
-
come on guys lets not get back on this one. thats why theres insurance and from what i understood everything was going to get taken care of.
I\'m glad the show went over well, i hope to see a bunch of those kids at the Rev Hall show, it\'s going to be insain

The Breakfast was the next tent performer. The band gave one of the highest energy shows of the festival. Guitarist and lead vocalist Tim Palmieri’s quirky facial expressions and goofy body gestures added to the entertainment, while his intense voice added to the unstoppable rock sound created by the rest of the band.
I just stumbled upon this in a review of moedown by "The Ithacan" Not too shabby a review, and im amused that they threw in that little part about timmys gestures, cause they really do add to the show, and i dont think ive ever read a review mentioning that before.
