dmb already had a flavor! do they have two now? thats not really fair.
If they were going to make a breakfast flavor they would have a lot to work with because there are so many food references in their songs, and there will probably be a lot more to come in the future. i dont know why i care because i don\'t even eat ice cream, but if the band had their own flavor that might be a good time to start.

I think DMB\'s old flavor (One Sweet Whirled) is now retired, and they have the Magic Brownies flavor to replace it.
Bacon flavored ice cream....mmmm.

It\'s a seasonal brew...get it while you can! I got up the next morning smelling like bacon. I thought I had died and woke up in heaven. I\'ll be back at school in a couple weeks and I\'ll ask Greg (owner) when he\'s planning on making it again. Hell, if Gordo and I come to CT this fall, I\'ll buy a few growlers and bring a treat for latenight :)
Back to ice cream. What\'s your favorite Ben & Jerry\'s flavor? They have this new Karamel Sutra that is organically orgasmic.

I haven\'t seen it in a while, but Wavy Gravy was always my favorite.
I\'m a little down on B&J\'s, I think that since they got bought out they have kinda gone cheap on their pints. If you go by weight alone, you can tell they\'re pumpin\' a lot of air into them.

Walsh- they do have a small line of non-dairy, non-fat sorbet. The flavors are limited though- Doonesberry (rasberry and blueberry swirled), Lemon Swirl, and Mango Lime- (this was at least the case a while back). the doonesberry is fuckin gooooooood.. oh yah, can\'t forget strawberry-kiwi...

I could never justify paying $4+ for a pint of ice cream when I can a gallon of Hood or Breyers for less, so I have never had any B&J flavors. Am I missing out on much?

interesting. had a conversation with some people at work how good bacon is and how you could put it on anything..... except desserts. bacon flavored brew!? reeeaal curious to taste it kate, it sounds kinda\' rank if you ask me. ill definitely give it a shot though. it sounds like theyd have to serve it luke-warm or somethin, i dont know. waking up in the morning smelling like alcohol is bad enough, then you throw in a smokey bacon tinge.. i think i feel weird now. im gonna go drop a Deuce. << ha!

No no no Fitz, it just tastes like bacon. :lol: Kinda has a smoky flavor as well, like drinking a liquefied alcoholic summer sausage. People go apeshit over it. I think they only brew it in October and November...I\'ll have to ask.
antbach, you have a mission: go to the nearest grocery store immediately and get a pint of Ben and Jerry\'s. I ate a whole pint in one sitting last week.

Yeah, there are some grocery store brand ice creams with gourmet flavors that are just fine by me (taste great and priced right at $2.5 - $3 for a large container).
On a side note, ice cream parlors are so expensive that I generally do not visit them. I recently bought two brownie sundaes and spent $13 - could have been out to a cheap-but-satisfying meal for that price.

Isn\'t that the only way to drink beer anyway? ;) Yes, they recommend you let it sit for a while so it\'s room temperature. I really can\'t explain it - the first time I ever tried it was at the Ekoostik Hookah concert, and Ed from the band and I spent the whole setbreak talking about how we weren\'t sure if it was gross or awesome. Yet we drank about 3 of them. :)

when i used to work at shaw\'s, i used to get my hands on some hot coupons.. every once in a while, we had B&J\'s for buy one get one free (@ $3.99ea. i think)... couple that with a stack of $2 Off coupons, and we\'re talking tons of free B&J\'s! at one point when we were in our condo, our freezer was literally FULL of just B&J\'s and veggie burgers.. :D
those were the days..

Ironicly enough i work at a ben and jerrys. i used to work there years ago when Gabe (buquebus) was my manager, and Holly (Mamalakabuadaya) was my coworker. now im back in effect, so if any of you .info guys or girls roll into the Mount Kisco store, ill hook you the fuck upo. and for the record gabe, you forgot berry berry extraordinary sorbet.

first of all, i just want to say that dave mathews band sucks and i wish they never had that nasty one sweet whirled flavor (worst ice cream ever)
just for the record, buquebus now works at coldstone in boston and dances/sings a jig while he serves ice cream. blackieshamps works with alanis morrisette obsessed girlie boy at b+js and tucks mgarrett in at night.

you have no idea...the external freezer in my garage was stuffed with pints when i worked at ben and jerry\'s. never paid for a single pint or scoop or drink while working there.

I wish I saw this earlier. There is a Dutchess in wallingford, on the west side of town off of 68 on the meriden/wallingford line.

Inspired by this thread, I opted for a smaller, though more delicious container of Ben & Jerry\'s while strolling through the frozen foods aisle yesterday.

Half Baked is my #2 choice, especially when baked. But, the taste that comes out of Phish Food will always own my craving.

Just to add a British angle to the discussion, yes, we even get B&J here. It is a known fact throughout my family that Phish Food is my favourite of all ice creams of all makes, though Cherry Garcia comes close. Haven\'t seen the DMB one though, or is this a wind-up?
Also haven\'t seen a Phish bar/lolly for years - only saw one once when at a theatre in London years ago - were they a limited thing?

Phish Bars are still around here. Probably not an heavily exported item from the US. DMB is alright, but because I don\'t like DMB I don\'t like the ice cream much either.

Exactly - I can\'t think of a more appropriate song title that could double as an ice cream name. You could even name a pizza after the Breakfast at a local joint and use Doughboy as part of the title, possibly for a deep dish.

Many smoked beers have bacon notes, but for the ultimate in bacon beer find yourself a bottle of Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier. It tastes like raw bacon and has the texture of lard. I personally hate it but it it has a very good rating at BeerAdvocate.

Holy :moo: Kate, stuff like this is usually my department but your ideas are unbeatable. I worked at Ben and Jerry\'s for two years and we used to do this game every day with all sorts of categories.
I\'ll throw some in with flavors to be different, but Kate already wins:
Spunk - Sweet cream ice cream w/ marshmallow swirl and two types of nuts.
Wake Up In A Coma - Chocolate, caramel, marshmallow, and strawberry swirls with rainbow-colored stars. No actual ice cream base.
The Vermont Flavor - Hemp flavored ice cream w/ swirls of maple syrup and Magic Hat #9 with chocolate bongs.
Fresh Cut - Pupernickel ice cream w/ chunks of ham, salami, turkey, and roast beef.
Phaddy Boom Baddy Doughboy- Dark chocolate ice cream w/ chunks of brownie, cookie dough, and marijuana.
Last but not least...Specialty Sundae: To Boot or Not To Boot: A scoop of all 10 of the above flavors drenched in toppings. $14.99, but free if you finish it yourself and hold it down for 46 minutes and 15 seconds. (46 and 1/4.)
