Osama bin Laden tried to buy a massive amount of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States hoping to kill thousands, according to reports.
The plot failed when Colombian drug lords decided it would be bad for business if they got involved in the deal.
An investigation by the US Drug Enforcement Administration has examined how advanced the plot became when it was hatched a year after the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington.
The Washington Post has reviewed a document detailing the DEA\'s findings in the matter, in addition to interviewing sources familiar with the case.
Osama bin Laden personally met leaders of a Colombian drug cartel to in 2002 to negotiate the purchase of tons of cocaine, saying that he was willing to spend tens of millions of dollars to finance the deal.
"They wanted to kill thousands of people - more than the World Trade Centre," said a source.
Although the drug lords would have reaped millions of dollars in profits by selling the cocaine to bin Laden, they knew that if his plan succeeded it might effectively destroy the market for their cocaine in America.
The other was their fear of retaliation from the US government once its citizens started to die from the drugs, according to sources.
In 2002, the then DEA Director Asa Hutchinson said: "The DEA [has] received multi-source information that Osama bin Laden himself has been involved in the financing and facilitation of heroin-trafficking activities.
"It is important we recognise that when money goes from the pocket of an American to buy drugs, it may contribute to the financing of unspeakable crimes of violence around the world."
Earlier this year, Afghan tribal leader Hajji Bashir Noorzai who was one of the most wanted drug dealers in the world and previously had been identified as bin Laden\'s major heroin supplier, was arrested in New York City on federal criminal charges.

I don\'t think the Breakfast fanbase can get there hands on this quality of cocaine. By the time it arrives at a show, the stuff is heavily cut and stomped down to garbage compared to a wealthy person who has the money to purchase lesser cut and higher quality blow.
I have never tasted Columbian Cociane at a B-Fast show. And if it is circulating, someone is not letting me know.

Really? The DEA released this to the press...wow!!! Imagine if they were the agency that was in a WAR ON DRUGS, how good it would be for them to have this "Story" leaked...Don\'t believe everything that you read.

if the government has any interest in drugs, it\'s certainly NOT eliminating the flow of drugs onto the street. its a little game they play to widen the gap between the haves and the have nots. i wouldnt be surprised if most of the drugs you guys take originally came from our own governing bodies.

This seems to just be the latest push by the powers that be to tell you if you do drugs of any kind then you are helping the terrorists and Bin laden.
Funniest part about it is that most of the herb is grown domestically by US citizens. Afganies, and most of the H and stuff like that, that makes it to our shores is from South America not the middle East. Just a bunch of Propaganda BS.
And the easiet way to combat this type of operation is to leaglize all drugs. If you take the $ out of it and make it legitamate biz then they have to do what all business do when it comes to labeling, QC, country of origin, liability etc.

Because when people have money it probably means they deserve to die.

this article read verbatim like the anti-drug adds you started seeing in the 2001 superbowl, "If you use drugs, you support terrorists." my take, 99% positive it is propagada.
problems with it:
1. As in the article, Drug lords would never allow a massive amount of there customers to be killed, it would be bad for buisness.
2. As Walsh said, this press release was announced by the same department that is currently \'at war\' with drugs, so take it with a grain of salt.

I cant believe there are people out there that actually believe anything that comes from the "press"..... The news can only get you so far......I like to take my facts from a blend of tv, radio, newspaper, internet, mediums and then blend it in my brain....basically getting the major facts from the sources, but since there is ALWAYS a spin or motive on a story, I just take it at face value and wait for some real deal evidence, proof, or whatever..........
as for poisoning cocaine.....i dont think any poison blow would make it too far, if that is actually a terrorist plan..... for people who have no problems strapping pounds of dinomite to their person and blowing themselves up or hijacking airplanes and flying them into skyscrapers, i think poising a recreational drug is a bit weak and a bullshit story.....
Not to mention anyone who buys weight of poison blow will either be dead before selling one gram or quickly stop selling it after a few cases of dead cokeheads turn up...It is definately not good for your business to have your customers die.....
Anything in moderation is okay....
