My love for rufus (although not displayed very well this tourny) is very strong, i truely consider it one of the many truely great breakfast originals....but i personally do not find it to be as original or should i say face meltingly mind blowing as some of the grand schemes i have heard. Plus the treatment it recieved on RR was absolutly ser as it just makes the album for me....if GSOT wasn\'t on RR i could start to understand where all the RR bashers are coming from....But a new studio version of the old PB original along with tunes such as score, gravity, and one of my personal favs Dimension 5, make this album one to be remembered...IMO of course

and this is where it gets tough..

two of the band\'s best 4 songs (so we say), and yet entirely different.

on the one hand, you have the elusive scheme - instrumental.. possibly the band\'s most complex composition, with many different sections, each showing the supreme talent of all 4 band members..

on the other hand, there is Rufus. another monster, but this one with catchy lyrics, a shitload of fun, and tons of room for improv.. i still remember the first time i heard Rufus - i just could not get it out of my head afterwards. wanted to listen to it over and over again. the chorus brings such a smile to my face, it\'s stu...

i\'m going rufus.

I still remember my first Rufus too: 8-16-2000 at the Living Room.  Dave comes over to me when the song begins and tells me how good the new song is, though I have to admit it went over my head the first time I heard it and didn\'t share the hype till the 2nd listening.

I\'m not sure I can vote in the final - too difficult.

I\'ve never been a huge fan of TGSOT... I mean, it\'s good, but I\'ll take Rufus any day of the week.... the Rufus jam on Bonafide is one of the best pb jams in history.

Rufus is def. an old friend of mine, crowd pleaser, great fucking song, etc. etc.  Lord knows I love the "Reba" type jams that come of it.. The feeling that is aquired when one hears the first few notes.. and then there\'s Scheme! maybe I haven\'t seen enough of it, and what I have witnessed have been redonkulous (see 11/27/04 Sully\'s Set 1 Closer).. The way I see it, TGSOT is as close to insanity as I\'ll know for now, and boy is it something. I feel it showcases the capabilities of these guys on a higher level..enough of my rambles.. The Grand Fucking Scheme of Things takes the cake, this time around..

I will have to go with TGSOT here people....I will also be calling for it and hoping it will be the encore or at least closer for the boys at 10klf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Definitely features all 4 members and does a damn good job at portraying all of their talents.  I was playing this for a guy the other night and told him to pay very close attention.....the ending in my opinion is the best.  I love how they drag it on and on and then tease you with the last notes.

Dave, which show is this TGSOT from?

what a tough tough choice to make.  The grand shhhkeeeeem of life basically is an amazing compossition  with some great rythmic patterns and it is fun to dance to.  The roofing song is an energy buildin fun time with lots to think about and dance to as well.  Both tunes are great to listen to and they all give great audience energy for all to soak up and enjoy.  I voted but I shall not say online which is my best....  see ya in the thick of it

more times i listen to Scheme, i have no problems with Rufus losing here... even though i did vote Rufus. TGSOT has like 300 riffs that could be the base of a song, instead its all in one.

Rufus was my vote as I am a fan of lyrics I can sing along with. Only reason. Scheme is an Epic in it\'s own right but the song just does not groove me like Rufus does.
