wow, crazy show, just got in.
MFD was incedible spread all over the place same with Rufus. The other one was a nice touch, and man did they really jam out message in a bottle. Overall incredible show as usual......

knew that was coming. ;) there\'s a method to my madness...
though the \'ahoy\' section was played apart from MFD a few times when it was first written, there is no b\'fast song called \'ahoy\' (published, copyright-wise, or otherwise).. what we\'re calling \'ahoy\' is simply the end of MFD. otherwise, every setlist ever written should be changed to say \'May Fly Disarray > Ahoy\'.
had \'ahoy\' not been played, MFD would have been listed as unfinished. had the \'ahoy\' section been played first, MFD would have been listed as inverted.. in this case, it was just finishing the song at the end of the set..
think of it as the same reason why you never see Punch You In The Eye > The Landlady > Punch You In The Eye... though that is slightly different, since Phish actually did publish a song called The Landlady.. but... you get my drift..

Looked like a SER doozie about 15 minutes before the set, but people started to show up right when they started to play.
Turned out to be an awesome show! Unbelievable second set!! Lots of energy at the very end. Loved Message in A Bottle!!!!!

where to begin, everything was pretty SER if you ask me. The jam from Mayfly back into HLH was somethin\' fierce. I can\'t wait to listen to this show every day for the next few months or so.

The Episode 1 was amazing. Timmy DESTROYED it. It sounded so nice. Now that I think about it, I wonder what guitar he was playing for it. He had both the tele and the SG up on stage and used the Tele early but then switched....
The Space Oddity jam was out of control....
These kids just keep taking it to a higher level every time. I often wonder if they feel any kind of pressure to play better than the show before.

definately a ser 2nd set. these guys continue to impress me everytime they take the stage. Every show is better then the previous. Very tight jamming this evening. Lots of little treats that just leave you hungry for more. Great time @ the call.

i think i met princess in boston and again in prov.or maybe im just nuts...
either way you dice it up.last night was an unexpected treat.i think basically everyone ruled out the chances of a ser show..doozie was he only word going around until about 1030 or so...best second set of the year,perhaps of all time.confirmed!

How would you compare the crowd size to the last call show (12-10-04)? Last time there was a decent crowd but lots of room to shake it. Mike, I hope you had an easier ride up to Providence this time!

fairly similar if not a few more heads. when the show started there were probably 50 peeps there, but by 12 that place was bumping for a snowy March night.

yeah, i got there right before they went on. kinda small crowd, but i bet the snow deterred a lot of folks, or slowed \'em down because like the above post mentioned, the floor was bumping
and after going through a few other threads...i see the SER pretty much everywhere. by my powers of intuition, it looks like it can be used to describe anything that was serious/sick...but i\'m confused by the "looked like it was going to be a ser show at 1030" comment, cause that seems to have negative connotations. anyone care to explain??

As the show began to look less like a Doozie, the setlist turned into a bona fide 1999-2000 Doozie Setlist.
Can\'t wait for the footage of Stevie G jumping up onto the stage as the "Ahoy"/"May Fly Disarray Pt. 2" (whatever ya wanna call it) starts.

great show last night. As adrian said, after providence, boston never even happened. The energy level in providence was crazy and they fed right off of it.

Incredible show, tough day at work on Sunday, but it was all worth it. Definitely better than the Boston show. Glad everyone got out and braved the snow, good to meet some of you guys (freddie) and revisit others. If you missed it, you missed the next big step for the guys. 05\' will be a ser year.

boston venues suck.. haven\'t seen a Boston show w/ any sort of energy goin in years..except the 20th anniversary pheesh show...well the last time the Breakfast played (oversold) the ME upstairs they brought out a good amount of communication with the bodies in front of them

i remember the Phish show, played so late we had to walk over to the Bus station and wait for a ride home. No T or anything. so cold that night, if it wasn\'t for the free t-shirt I recieved after the show. My face would have been frost bitten.

Yeah, it was freezing that night.
Boston doesn\'t suck though. The Regattabar is a pretty sweet place.
And I saw a band at an art gallery in Cambridge recently that BLEW ME AWAY. The energy would have been really something if the place wasn\'t a tiny little gallery.
Actually, I have been meaning to post about that band I saw there for days now. Thread to follow, when I get a chance.

Damn, what a show! I just finished listening to it last night... I thought that 3/4/05 from Toad\'s would be tough to beat, but holy shnikey!!! Space Oddity was one of the best I\'ve ever heard and the second set was just insane... definitely the best show I\'ve heard recently... if not ever...

i dont think providence was better than toad\'s. it was definetly amazing and they played my favorite song, but the grand scheme encore itself at toad\'s was enough, not to mention the insane amount of energy and the 2 sets that blew us all away........

Just plugged in the old cd player to my beastly amp and PUMPED this whole 2nd set straight through. I still think this is my favorite TB set of all time. What The Funk kicks things off with "a whole lot of energy" as Timmy states, and the jams and segs are filthy and smooth straight fuckin through. I feel so young right now. Lovin it. :biggrin:
