Back in my younger daze, I f\'n loved medeski, martin, and wood. Caught em live a ton.. still got the love, just am in a different realm of life, which means less and less live music... anyways, these d00ds have a residency at The Whitney Museum, every Friday in August.. fo fr33! guests will include, mr. rourke:dj:, dj logic, cyro baptista, and others...

Most person\'s complaints about their live setting, is that at times they can get very spacey/out there, but sheesh this is considered jazz music, correct? Besides all that, the three intertwine, weave, groove, funk, and mesh so well, that I can definitely deal with a few weird feelings-(i.e. gd drums>space) I\'ve seen them all over the place from an opera house in Poughkeepsie, to one of the gyms at uvm. I haven\'t seen em in years, but I always laughed at the crowd diversity, where smelly w00ks may come face to face with an older, very, respectful, quieter, more standard jazz fan base. First time was on a rotating stage at the melody tent out on the Cape in the summer of 2000, lolz. With the flecktones tab00t! looks like short performance times in august, but a lot will occur, for sure...

And yeah, Sco is great, but I\'ve seen him plenty of times already.

no, but trying to hit the 19th or 26th. good to know it\'s a good time
-
i would just suggest trying to get there early... it\'s a small place and no one behind the 5th row of people can see the band.
-
this friday, zuke?? wolfman is in town and is down for joining.

I am definitely in for the MMW show this Friday (it\'s actually Billy Martin and friends no Medeski or Wood but still fine with me!) I am squeezing in an hour with a college friend from 5pm-6pm who cannot meet at any other time, then booking it to the museum for 630-645. So I cannot do any preshow, but note that the show is only from 7-830 so I am totally down to go out afterwards. Dinner would be great after the show, and maybe even Indobox after that!
(Taking this offline to FB message, check that and get back to me)
