Ended up with some Bohemian Highway.

Great little store. Everything is new from the walls out. Ten door cooler. Very diverse selection of wine and liquor.

Make sure you peep Hampton Trey next to the Liquor Permit watching over the shop. In Red We Trust.

The Crimson Dego oversee\'s all transactions at Mt. Road Wine & Liquor.

Superficially the store appears full, however it still needs to grow and the selection will definitely expand exponentially over the coming months.

I just wanted to casually mention the following... the first couple of months after a liquor store opens are a very stressful time for the owner.  It costs a great deal of money to fill a store with hooch.  Even if the store is not close enough to be your weekly/daily store of choice, please consider paying Steve a visit to show a little love, wish him luck, and make a purchase to help him overcome that initial buy.

hope you enjoyed that bottle of scotch.  I decided to discover the world of Bourbon Manhattans tonight.  1.5 oz makers mark, 1/4 oz sweet vermouth, dash of bitters... YUM!

Also, Michelob has come out with a "belgian white" called shock top.  I\'m kinda digging it.

I visited the store today. It is very nice. Clean, great selection, and bigger than you would think. Prices are very very very good for a store of it\'s size (same prices I see at the big ass franchise store up the road from my house). I think between the location, size, selection and prices that it will be very successful and I wish Steve the best of luck!

Way to go, Steve!  Stock up on the Paulaner for me.  A few nice Belgians, too.

I was wondering when the state would allow "packies" to open on a holiday.  Prime sales day!  I\'m sure some of the old school joints will decline--like the guys that refuse to stay open until 9.  It\'ll be Sundays before ya know it...

Picked up some Spanish Red wine last night. The Bohemian Highway was alright. Nothing special, IMO, and it is not a very good one having no knowledge of wine other than watching Mom polish off bottle after bottle and never coming home from the store for her cigs, is that it was almost flavorless but still decent.

Gonna get krunked on this other bottle tonight.

Steady flow of customers coming in daily but this being the first weekend, we will finally see what kind of drinkers are down that way.

I would love to see an expansion (and domination) of the Mountain franchise and a character like Stevie G holdin\' it down.

We spoke about it when I first quoted the insurance. Since then, it really hasn\'t been spoken about that I remember. I am not sure he really wanted it at the time or if he understood what I meant by it.

Just about every company in the world is using Twitter, MySpace or Facebook these days as some form of marketing. Must have some importance.

Kids got his hands full.  Why don\'t you do it for him.

I will.

I still haven\'t gone mine up for insurance let alone the FCE site.

Tried that tonite - tripped on a tree stump!  SHITT!!!  Busted the bottle of Dewer\'s, but somehow held on to the magnum of Boone\'s Farm.  After applying the peroxide to my scraped up shins, Steve only charged me for the magnum.  This kind of customer service will pay off in the long run.
Seriously though - beautiful store, guys.  Well worth the trip from wherever you are.  Nothing but the best of luck in your new endeavor.

I have all that info for purchasing but I need to find a rental as well.

I am thinking of buying one and just hanging out with it on Wah\'s porch or at my house when he is not at the store.

Do run it by LL. This thing could be a traffic hazard if it isn\'t sustaining the flailing tube in air.

Hey Steve - what are your business hours the next few days?  I hear that CT pkg stores are allowed to open on the 4th.

Open till 9pm Thurs, Fri, Sat

Today we are open 8am till 9pm.  Tomorrow we will open at 8am but we will close when business comes to a standstill or sober folk cease and the drunks start rolling in......I will definitely stay till 5pm at the very least......

Does this stupid state have any idea how much revenue they lose to others on Sundays??

Of course, not that I want to increase Steve\'s work week to 120 hours!

The only people who really lose revenue on Sundays are the stores on the NY and Mass borders.......  Bring on the hours!

i think CT\'s major downfall is having liquor stores only open til 9 pm.  Sunday\'s can be dealt w/.  I\'d be lost if i couldn\'t go to the packy at 10:15 at night.

Stevie would know better than I do, but I feel like increasing hours has a negative affect on local businesses. All of a sudden, the owner of a small liquor store has to either choose to close at 9 p.m. anyway (which could lead to a loss of business over time... I\'m going to the store that I know will be open) or to pay extra to keep the lights on, keep the place staffed, etc. Meanwhile, the Stop and Shop that sells alcohol and is open anyway sees no change except for some extra profit from beer sales from 9 p.m. to midnight.

ZUke and I got a chance to stop in on Friday.  The store really looks great.  Very nice selection of liquor, wine, and beer...the berkshire beers are especially good.  Really glad to see the store come together after months of planning.  I\'m sure you are going to kill it Gencs

Hey Stevie, try to procure the following two beers for your store:

Untouchable (pale ale) by Speakeasy Brewing based in SF
Chupacabras (pale ale) by Cucupa Brewing C0 - one of the only microbrewers in Mexico.

The best two pales I have tasted ever.

(unfortunately, I doubt either has distribution on the east coast)

Then I remembered that my cats breathe smelled like dog food.

Was completely confused and excused myself from the counter.

Yesterday was probably the slowest saturday in Mt Road history because this happened a 1/4 mi down the road, completely shutting down rt 67

The huge column of black smoke rising into the sky (on 9/11 mind you) was a little freaky until word started to spread on what was happening.

We sent a bottle of Firestarter Vodka down to the Seymour Firehouse compliments of Mountain Road

The fire smelt awful, can\'t even imagine what kind of burnt chemical fumes I inhaled yesterday.

And boom goes the dynamite
