Oh my freakin lord, last night was way out of hand!!! I was absolutely floored. The energy coming off that stage and from the crowd was crazy. Though I am still somewhat newbtastic, I am going to have to say this show impressed me more than any of the others in recent time (yes, Southbridge) and that is saying a hell of a lot.. The entire show was solid but Hard Luck Harry just about made my mind explode/ face melt / body combust. Merge was incredibly bad ass. Let\'s just say I jumped pretty damn high and got down pretty seriously. I thought Cut Me Some Slack was a fabulous pick for an encore to end an outstanding night.
(The only thing I would have changed would be having my L Train present.. Not the same without you..<3)

Please tell me this was taped!?!?!

Maybe last night was the best-ever Hard Luck Harry or maybe it wasn\'t. Either way, it\'s definitely on the short list as I can\'t think of many versions that are even in the same stratosphere. It traveled a multitude of paths and each one led to some place special.

Sick show. Frenzied crowd. Fuckin\' Sully\'s.

definatley some serious jammin. Rust sounded tight and .the HLH was really good, but it sounded like there was an attempt by adrian to bring it to an end and the rest of the guys were doin their own thing which led to some forced playing. no complaints though, other things always make up for it as they always do.

3 song first set??? what??
rust bustout. what???
any show with merge is top 10 automatically.
and a cmss encore is effin nutzo.

cant wait to move back east

i cant believe no one has mentioned the rufus yet.

9-5-08: the redefinition of rufus - they went into this slow funk section in the jam, totally out of the ordinary. probably was close to 25-30 minutes

In general, this was by far the most experimental show ive ever seen from the band...def in my top 5.

the best part (as i said about a million times), was how many awesome people there were last night...i felt like i havent seen a crowd like that in a LONG time in terms of how many people i knew there.

so fun the whole night, thanks to everyone

one more thing to add: the opening 2nd set jam>HLH totaled probably over 45 minutes easy

LOL I love it.  You do realize that they\'ve played Merge over 100 times, right? :)

Last night stands out for what certainly has to be the fewest songs ever played in a complete 2-set+encore show.  Only 8 songs.  That\'s insane.  Sully\'s always packs a good show.  It never ceases to amamze how Breakfast Nation can be rocking inside while the Hartford Hoodlums are 10 feet away outside on the deck and everything just flows normally.  I could completely exhaust my musical vocabulary trying to explain all of the different jams, but I\'ll step aside and leave this one to your own ears.  Have fun listening!  Great to see everyone, excellent vibe out there last night! ;)

Your Breakfast statistician is also obliged to report that this was the most expensive show ever in terms of cost per song.  With a $10 cover and 8 songs played, that\'s $1.25 per song.  That is stratospheric for The Breakfast, in fact, they had never broken the $1 mark before.

Haven\'t felt crowd energy like this in a while.  The show had a great feel and a really happy vibe to it.  Everyone seemed really happy to see eachother.  I can\'t tell you how many, "Heeeeeey(s)!!!!" I heard outside before the show.  Great to have you back Lexington, I totally should\'ve beaten your ass right then and there, ya know, to make up for lost time, but, uh, there\'ll be plenty of time for that....

Other than Bill\'s Bar that time, I can\'t recall seeing a 3 song set.  It was so good I didn\'t even realize until Pitch said something.

Synergy fuckin\' ripped.  I used to kinda have a take it or leave it attitude towards it, but the last two or three I\'ve seen have been for real, last night\'s was no execption.  I could swear they changed one small part of it, I guess I\'ll have to wait and see if it was a one time thing.

Rust was ok at first and then kind went crazy at the end.  It\'s funny how people interpret things differently, cuz I thought until it started to get really good there was a lot of forced playing to borrow the term, kinda jamming for the hell of it with the hopes that something magical happened.  No risk, no reward.  I am NOT complaining by any means.

Rufus was long awaited, though it\'s only been like 5 or 6 shows or something, it seemed to have that "FINALLY!!" feel to it judging by people\'s reactions.  Shit got pretty intense.  I loved the back and forth shit with Tim and Dangles resulting in them screaming together.  I love that kinda stuff.  Pretty serious, (I will NOT say "ser") peaks throughout the jams.  Can\'t wait to hear it again.

HLH was just wild.  It did take me places.  I may have gotten lost a few times.  Nothing wrong with that though.  Christ, what do I sound like saying something like that. ;)  Clearly one of, if not the best one i\'ve heard.

I wasn\'t in the mood for Gravity, but within a minute or two I didn\'t care.  Very well played.  I liked the Manteca tease, and the little bits of Merge that seeped it\'s way in for a fine segue.  Merge just killed it.  Jen\'s favorite song on her birthday must\'ve been pretty nice...

Taboot was a nice way to end things.  Shit got pretty crazy.  I hope I didn\'t smoosh anyone.  Though, I grabbed and threw Paul for some reason, sorry buddy.  Though totally sober, I have no idea what my problem was.  Sorry if I was that guy.

CMSS for an encore was about as good as it could\'ve been.  Great way to work out any left over dancin\' that some of us had left in us.  Good idea, whoever\'s it was.  Got kinda hot in there after a while, I can\'t help but laugh when ya hug some one after a hot-ass show like this one and ya kinda stick to eachother for a second.

Gonna be a pain in the ass to try to  see them before the Halloween run...

See ya!

Yes, yes, last night was lots of fun... can\'t even list off all the people I saw that I havent seen in a while.... As has been said, crazy jamming in pretty much every song- highlighted by rufus and hard luck for me- i\'ll agree that hard luck was probably one of the best one\'s i\'ve seen (but we always seem to say that...)

and let\'s give props to dangledooze for steppin it up on adrians rufus vocals (pretty sure i remember "livin in a dangle doo" and "sorrrrrrrrrrry........ chip.") since adrian didn\'t appear to have proper vocal miclification

and again, if anyone found my zach morris phone..... give it up

Strange day>night>day indeed!

Definitely in my top 5 strangest shows of all time. Redefinition of Rufus, indeed! I loved Matt on the intro section. Watching the band from the side ramp was key, not that I don\'t love you guys, but many of you are bigger and smellier than me so I was glad to find a little refuge. When I saw "Acid Haus" Ellis groovin over there I realize it was the place to be.

Upon arrival at "the ramp" I was given a spectacular view of Adrian\'s insane drumming. A good night to be a little twisted.... Twisted Tea of course!

Thanks to TPalms for helping me not back into mad people trying to pick a ghetto fight on the way out of my parking space

GHETTO FIIIIIIIIIHT!!!

When we were leaving some, "locals" were like, "where you goin, ladies?"  Jen said, "uh, home."  I heard about 5 of em\' make that sound, ya know, "tssss."  There was also a crack-head at 7-11 who politely asked for 2 quarters.  Always so precise; "yo son, you could spare like two quarters?"

good times.

Thanks to DavePeck for the ride to the show and Elisa for setting it up.  I can\'t believe I almost cancelled last minute.

Good to see you again Galenas...make sure you post some info about your Music Blog.

It also great meeting Justin, Ashley, and John.

It was also funny putting a face to name Brandon (Ren).  I was laughing so hard after I realized it was you who had made the previous posts.

I\'m sure i\'ll see most of you guys in a couple months @ Higher Ground.

I went up to Ren, not ever meeting him before, and asked if he were Ren and explained I was DSnumbers, as an educated guess based on pictures Ive seen.  His response was "how the hell did you figure out that I was ren?"  I think he thought that I was just going to up everyone and asking if they were Ren.

It\'s crazy how loose the mid-song banter is this entire show. It really kicks the energy up a few notches. Everything about this show is just raw comfortability. I\'m enjoying a third listen more than the first two. I\'d love to see just an ounce of this home driven baggy demeanor from the boys in Chicago. Don\'t get me wrong, they ALWAYS throw down hard when I see them, but there is certainly something special about shows like this that the road really can\'t recreate.... I guess what I\'m trying to say is-- good job BFans, you guys really produce an exceptional atmosphere for an exceptional band to collectively throw an exceptional party that I wish I could be a part of. I\'m jealous, sure, but happier that this shit exists at all. Keep ridin\' the wave you lucky s.o.b.\'s, this chapter in life will become more significant as the years keep rolling on, no doubt.

Dude remember when I met you at FFLawnBoy? That shit was hilarious. Me after Coil, "Dude, you know what you\'re getting into here?" You, "Uhh yeah, I spend like three hours a day on the board." Then you pointed to your nametag and I felt like a jackass for a moment. However, you were new on the board. However (again) your presence was felt immediately on the board. Anyways, that shit was funny. Still don\'t know what you look like, considering you had a fucking Fluff bucket on your head.

Held the title of my favorite Rufus up until possibly now. Mill Street November 09 might have taken the throne, but it\'s a tough call.

Either way, this is definitely the best RUST ever played. Tim\'s guitar work is totally inspired!
