just got home, super tired so i will make this quick

unbelievable is the one word to describe tonight. All about the MooBoos with Jordan. Segue into Queeb was naaaaasty.  Definately agree with dave that the encore was epic.  sooo much energy once from when jordan came on til the end.

Props to Peaches for the "Thank You, Ron Spears" bedsheet banner.  At least 50+ people signed it with good words for Ronnie. I know it felt good for him to get that after the show.

"I\'m not gonna read this now, because it might make me emotional" -Ron Spears

Overall, great night, everything that was expected and more...

God I can\'t wait for E.C.................................

P.S. also props to Peaches for picking up the HUGE tab at Bar before the show.

Balllllaaaaaaaaaaaa

I put some of the setlist corrections in. I still  don\'t believe they played intension regardless of what dave and jim say, I was so emotional I completely missed it. :wah:  Video montage was a song by ben folds called "Late">Good things. Credit goes to Derick, Matt Vallo, Todd, Peck and Cori in that order. Could not have pulled it off without Dericks help.

There was another tease in See the light that neither dave or I could identify, instrumental, maybe an elp song? need to hear it again.

Review: You had to be there. Words can\'t do it justice. I need sleep, stuck at work. ugh. < /end>

A night beyond words. It was pure love in that room, from the first note to the last bow.

Until last night 1/26/01 was my favorite and IMO the best Mooboo\'s... But what we saw, the double ferocity of keys, the last bass notes of Ron, and the shedding of a lifelong musical friendship, BY far surpassed any previous Mooboo\'s.

The Late And The Great > Hard Luck Harry was one of my favorites this evening... I really thought it was going to go into OE & thought it was teased at the end of TLATG, but I could be wrong   The Mooboo\'s was absolutely insane, of course - Sequoia & Striker on the same stage?!  Wow.  just wow.

I\'m still in denial about Ron leaving, and I have a feeling it will hit at Utica.  Otherwise, great show.

BTW, here\'s your pic of the night, DS#\'s... especially since you won\'t be at Utica - (wuss).

Yep.  No words to describe it.  Not possible.  I\'ve never felt the way I felt throughout and after the show.  I tried to describe it to Mike but I don\'t think I got it right, I said, "it feels like the inside of my body is really warm and numb."  There was a happiness I cannot describe.  My god it was sooooooo emotional in so many ways, happy, sad, excitied, others that I can\'t even describe.

I\'m never gonna get tired of saying, "that was the best time I ever had."

Now for the actual music...whoa.

Wild Pack has been rippin\' it lately and to see it open things up was a good sign for things to come.

Beautiful Buquebus, absolutley amazing, and also might I add, beautiful.  A tear or two may have been shed.

Mayfly was just perfect.

Reba?!?!  I think with the exception of Phish\'s 2/20/93 version, that was the best I have EVER heard.  It was flawless in everyway, but still managed to have that Breakfast personality and style to it, and not finishing it was a great idea.  I can\'t wait to hear it.

Could Dave and Mike possibly have been any happier to hear No Regret??!?  I was happy too...

Intension, which by the way Paul, was played, with it\'s Mommy What\'s a Funkadelic/Warped jam was a fuckin\' blast, got a little sniffy for that one...especially when I could hear the Hard Luck forming.

Jesus, could it have been any better?  That song just does something to me that I can\'t describe.  Goodbye to a good guy...to borrow a line from Dave, you don\'t have a soul if that one didn\'t get ya a little.  It got me...a lot.

The Late and the Great in the middle of HL was a masterpiece, don\'t know who that dude was who told Peaches and me that he was willing to bet Overexposure would not follow TLATG, well now I have to buy him a beer at the Electric Company...durung Overexposure.

And of course, though as with some of these others that I figured would be saved for New Year\'s, we have Love Lake.  So good.  Not to sound lame, but I don\'t care, you really could feel all the love in the room for the the whole show and it was no different for this one.  I love this song, I really do, and not being able to hear Ronny playing along with all these other songs is gonna kill me for a while.

It was a no-brainer that by Jordan being there that he would be playing with them.  I think that if not due to the circumstances that surrounded this show, he probably would not have played a Breakfast song with them, it would have just been wrong though if he didn\'t.

That Breakfast song being Mooboo\'s, well, I don\'t think anyone could have guessed that one.  And with Matt and him playing together?!?!?  Yeah, I cried a little, so what.  Could a Breakfast fan have asked for anything more?  No. Ok, yeah.  Sweet jamming for "cute uptempo instrumental," doods!  I was looking over his shoulder as he was was "typing" it and was like, "what." then he promptly sent it in to .info.

Ok.  Seriously.  Funky Bill\'s was a little bit more of what we could have asked for with the dueling keyboard soloing in it.  I don\'t think anyone liked that very much, though ;).

I\'m gonna have to agree with Dave and anyone else with a clue, that this was in fact the best encore and possibly the best jamming that this band has ever played, am I wrong?  No.  Jordan singing See the Light?!?  Holy Shit.  Baby Hold on to Me?  I won\'t forget you coming up and singing it with me Paul, it showed how much of a dork we both were to sing the exact same verse.  Oh boy.  I don\'t know what you would call that Kasmir jam thing.  Quadrophenia wasn\'t bad either.  Though Jen thinks I\'m full of shit, I still believe I heard a snippet from Divided Sky in there too.  Guess I\'ll have to hear it again to be sure.

Not all that big of a fan of Karn Evil 9, but all things considered, it was fine with me.  Don\'t really know how I know the music to that song, having said, "ahhhhhh," and changed it every time it came on the car radio since I was 16.

Seriously the best show I\'v ever been to.  There was no better way and place to say goodbye to Ronny.  The video was a tough one to get through.  Seeing the look on Lisa\'s face as she was watching filled my eyes up a little.

On to the Electric Company.  I may collapse if the EC is better than this...

God, I\'m gonna miss him.  I think I saw his eyes looking a little glassy at times.  He\'s a human after all, dammit.

The Ron-ie-Spears chants, the setbreak montage, the thank you banner, the Sequoia Branch (!), the hometown crowd & the lovely Breakfast Family out in full force, Everything about this show was really special. Especially the music. Utica or bust!

the jamming i heard last night was the best EVER EVER to come out of the band, period.  A few of the songs in the 2nd set are a blur, but i believe the HLH sandwich with TLATG was the best of the night.  i literally did not stop dancing, jumping, yelling, giving about 500 high-fives, moshing, throwing beer in the air and singing along the ENTIRE NIGHT.  The crowd was so awesome i cant even begin to describe how i felt in the sea of heads.  the bar felt like it was almost totally full, which is suprising because there werent many people (so it seemed) at the very beginning.

Reba, do i even need to say anything?  every slight messup they did in the composed section at FF9 (there were very few) was corrected tonight and the jam was insane.

The buquebus was one of my favorites of all time, very reminiscent of 2005 era queebs with more synth and thickness.

every song was a highlight...the encore was insane!  jordan, matt together?  holy shit!  when they ripped out kashmir teases i lost it.

thanks everyone, ronny spears, tim and spacey for putting me up, and all the cool people that i had funny conversations with.  have fun on NYE, ill be thinking of TB for sure.

Ron was havin a hell of time last night...
When Jordan came out he was real happy...

This is a sad day for our beloved band...Some ppl just don\'t understand how tight Rons sound is, and how that sound was more or less conceived from the artistic intent of tim and adrian...He just wanted to play bass guitar layin lines for tim...I just hope this new position can be filled via seamless transition for this new bass player and that the sound isn\'t going to be totally compromised

Ridiculous jamming in this show. Listening to it and it\'s a wonder I have not slit my wrists already from missing this one and tomorrow night.
Buquebus Mayfly and then REBA? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!
intension>Mommy>Intension Hot Shit right there!
HLH>Late>HLH WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Where the hell did they go in that jam? OH Man!
The best version of Mooboo\'s I can recall ever hearing and totally showed why this song won the 2007 ToT and should have won by so much more.

See The Light? UH WOW! Some of the most SER jamming I have ever heard. ( I use this phrase a lot with these guys but this shit is SER!!!) Could def. be the best this band has ever played.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

See the light jam where matt started the arpeggios on was phenomenal. Tim followed suite with the delay pedal and ron and jordan held it together beautifully. That was one of the best jams I\'ve ever heard from anyone.

God, I\'m gonna miss him.  I think I saw his eyes looking a little glassy at times.  He\'s a human after all, dammit.
Ron told me after the show that tim came up and gave him a hug during the video and he was crying, which got ron crying. I was ok with it until I turned around and saw tangie balling her eyes out and then I was useless for the rest of the show, especially during hard luck.

had an incredible time at toad\'s the other night. it is hard to accept that saturday night\'s performance will be the last time i see ronnie with the breakfast. lots of heavy hitters were played and although i didn\'t hear every breakfast song that i love (there are too many), i wouldn\'t of had it any other way. thank you ron and obviously the entire band for such wonderful memories over the last few years. 12-29-07 definitely goes down as one of the most amazing shows i\'ve ever seen.

hmmm.

Not really sure when I left the show. I was def. in rare form. I think i was trying to drown the sorrow of Ron leaving.

Duane I owe you a beer.

We had a blast. everywhere you turned was a familiar face. raging front and center was a nice change for me.

I will have to download this show just to remember it. Still recovering.

Everyone have fun and be safe tonight.

What an incredible, special night! This show was everything: huge, spectacular, amazing, unbelievable, emotional, raging, fun!  The goosebumps were in full force, especially during Love Lake.

I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced what I have with this crew over the past 7 years. Ron, you have been a gigantic part of that, and I will miss you up there big time. Yes it\'s the end of an era, but it ain\'t over yet.

Cheers to Ronnie!!
Thank you Breakfast!!!

This show and the Middle East show from last week have opened up a new category of Breakfast greatness all their own.  The playing at both shows is as good as anything I\'ve ever heard from The Breakfast.  But it\'s what\'s not on the recordings that is really making these shows incomparable to all others.  The Ron subplot and the associated crowd energy are like nothing we\'ve ever created before.  The emotion, desperation, and comraderie everyone has brought to these two shows is the most incredible thing I\'ve ever felt.

I really got a full sense of closure for Ron at this show.  The fantastic video and the fact that it was the last Ron show for a lot of significant people (especially Lisa Spears) really brings it home that this is it.  Consequently, I left the show anticipating a bit of a more chill vibe in Utica.  Not that it will be a bad show or any less well-played...it is going to be awesome.  It just can\'t match tonight\'s hometown Toad\'s show for overall sendoff bravado.  It\'s a good thing though.  Getting all this out now should help people relax and enjoy the last show and NYE a little easier.

Musically, the whole show was a spectacular showcase of all that The Breakfast is.  Personally my standout moments were the flawless Reba, Eppy II, and the entire encore.  But like I said, the whole show was really one greatest moment after another.  (BTW during first set there was also a football game on of such unprecedented magnitude that it was a noteworthy angle even upon such a heavy show.  I wrote about that here (http://thebreakfast.info/forum/showpost.php?p=174880&postcount=255) but this post is for the show.)  I was really feeling the encore and I went up to Dave and said, "This is just as good as Phish ever was.  It\'s the same product.  Unbelievable."  Clearly we were in agreement, as Dave instantly declared it "greatest encore ever" which carries a lot of weight since we\'re both guarded when it comes to "greatest ever" comments.

It was great to see everyone tonight, and by everyone I mean EVERYONE.  So many people who have contributed to getting the band to the peak it is at right now were in attendance.  The guys in the band obviously work hard and get first credit.  But the combined number of hours of Breakfast efforts and support amongst all attendees in the room is literally in the hundreds of thousands.  I can\'t even fathom it.  I\'m glad we all got to share this night together.  Thanks everyone.

If there is a better Mooboo\'s anywhere I would like to hear it.
I really don\'t think there is.
For me at least this is the single best performance of this song I have ever heard.
It is full of everything I love about the song which also happens to be everything I love about The Breakfast.
The playing is so tight and full of emotion from each and every player. The participation of the audience bleeds through just enough to make the   energy that was being created there palpable to the listener.

Wow I really can not believe how amazing this version is.

I am truly and sincerely in awe of the sheer power of this version and what it does to me.
