Quote
FZ\'s -200 motels - on sundance channel !

Just notice that the sundance channel will be airing the Frank Zappa\'s film "200 motels" this month, a movie about how life on the road can drive you crazy.

The remaining showtime\'s appear to be:

Sunday

- AUG 13 3:30 PM
Thursday - AUG 17 12:35 PM
Wensday - AUG 30 9:00 AM

Very Strange Film If you\'ve never seen it check it out

I though this was cool because you can\'t get a copy of this film!
(unless you find a copy used on VHS)

Peace, Love & Music
Angelo

200 Motels is available to stream/download from http://joox.net for all those interested. Act fast because some movies don\'t stay on this site very long.

This movie is so strange. It was hard for me to pay attention to it.
There are a few really good parts.

its all about the magic fingers and lonesome cowboy burt (speakin atcha!). otherthan that, its all the flo and eddie dialogue that taints most live albums from their era, such as playground psychotics. but hey, its history, worth a watch fo sho

conceptual continuity. 200 Motels and Thing Fish are the glue that holds the epic tale of Frank Zappa together.

And that slave driver of a band leader, Mr. Francesco Zappa, who toils endlessly into the night, composing his atonal charts with a vengance that would turn the stomach of any Romantic Era composer.

f magic fingers. The best part of this album is strictly genteel, followed by the tuna fish sandwich suite:

This Town Is A Sealed Tuna Sandwich (Prologue)
Tuna Fish Promenade
Dance Of The Just Plain Folks
This Town Is A Sealed Tuna Sandwich (Reprise)
The Sealed Tuna Bolero

Well... this might not go over well. But, for the most part, Zappa\'s movies... not so good.

I like the fact he was willing to make art for sake of art as a director, but there are some hard parts to get through. Some of it is briliant though, like the stop animation clamation flash frame segway in the guitar solo from inca roads on dub room special. As far as rock band films go though nothing beats pink floyds the wall.

At least zappas movies are better than tommy or sgt. peppers, two of the biggest pieces of crap ever put on film. I\'d rather watch Andy Warhols Empire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_%281964_film%29) than either of those again. :puke:

I like Tommy ok, mainly for Tina Turner.

Have you ever seen the Monkees\' movie Head? It\'s kind of terrible, but pretty funny.
