Wow. I gotta say, this was one of the highest crowd energy outputs I\'ve ever seen. Everyone was just jammin and going crazy between songs and having a great time. Since the band kicks ass every night, I believe that the setting has more to do with crowd energy than how the band plays. So thanks to Terry for hooking up another great party. From UMass to Chittendon Park to festivals to UAC...there is no doubt that the non-venue anything-goes party-style setting leads to great Breakfast shows.
Of course the band was on fire too. The raw setlist is crazy. First set featured their 2 favorite new songs and aside from that it was throwback city baby. Eppy II/No Quarter sandwich was unbelievable. What a sandwich. That\'ll give the chicken parm at John and Maria\'s a ser run for it\'s money. Then a Gladys Pimp and Score double-decker. Another very natural segue, the Gladys jam and Score are very similar. And the encore with the super triple Funkadelic Thumpasorus/One Nation/We Want that Funk jam had me flashing back to the end of 4/1/0 Butterfield. Same song, same insane crowd, same party. What a blast. See you soon!

Dave clamped the akg483\'s(x-y) to a pipe 14\' above audience, dead center and 20\' back from stage. He also recorded the soundboard, which should make a good matrix if the board is clean.
I ran sennheiser 421\'s clamped to front of PA speaker, pointed toward center of room. also, 3 minidv camera\'s. It\'s hard to say how it will come out since the lights were all back light and no lights on their faces.
There were 2 more tapers located in the center of the room and a patcher out of daves rigs. Sorry I didn\'t catch their names or their rig info.

after a four page review of last week\'s badassery, this week left me stunned!! what a show!!! huge crowd energy, astounding playing all around, and that voodoo>no quarter>voodoo was indeed the highlight. until the second set, that is....
it was great meeting new faces and seeing some ones i knew. y\'all know how to throw a humdinger alright!!!
i swear, that second set..... listen to that and then try to tell me they\'re not at the height of musical prowess!!! absolutely unreal!!!

That looks fantastic, I was there in spirit. The energy must have traveled all the way to maine, because we had a pretty good show also. How many people were there??? Did you guys finish all the beer?? OHH newcastle. Thanks for some of the details and is always good to hear about it even if you are not there. Everyone makes me feel like I was.

Below is my post from last night when I got home before this thread was up....around 3:00<<<<3:00am, Not bad. Considering the we hung out for a while afterwards.
As with every show....that was the best show I\'ve seen since....well.... the last show I\'ve seen. Why is it that only us Breakfast fans, realize this??? Believe me as selfish as this may sounds, it\'s nice that they haven\'t blown up yet because we won\'t be able to have great shows like last night and we\'ll probably have to cough up $60 - 70 to the Oakdale or the Meadows to see them from a hundred feet back....if we\'re lucky.
I look forwad to every show even more now because I know it\'s just a matter of time before we have to share them with the world....... :mad: :mad: Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!! :mad: :mad:
As for the crowd last night...the best group of people you could ever wish to come across. Breakfast Fans are the best fans.... :peace:

This show definitely looks like it may have been one of the best. I may try to get myself to the next UAC festivities.

what an evening. yet another ser breakfast throwdown hosted by TerryOB. Definately lighter crowd than last UAC show, but we were gettin down with the energy of a fully packed house. The band was eating it up and throwing the sickness right back in our faces. That is what rock and roll is all about. and for my money nobody does it better than these kids....
it was great to hang with some M-O-Edot kids. Nice to meet some of the faces attached to screen names from this board....
more to come from this show.... I haven\'t even begun to try to look at the setlist yet.

I spoke with him via Instant Messenger during the show and asked him why he was not there. He mentioned having a lot of work for school. Don\'t know why it couldn\'t be saved for Sunday (work?)

after gaining much sleep after the fiasco that went down at the UAC, I can still not manage to sum the experience up in words. ehh still coming down I guess..fromthe effects of an absolutely fine crafted display of musicianship. the dudes were cookin up sangwiches left and right, and the crowd was eating them up, burning the roofs of thier souls.. No Quarter placed between two healthy slices of Mooboo\'s sure was tasty.. Attration>LDZ>Attraction was genius.. happier than a pig in shit to get that Uncle Freddy, esp. right after the partial HLH.. damn. thank you Terry for hooking it up once again, and everyone else out there who was involved.. big up to Igzy for getting me there, and postom for the ride back.. PB fam for life

Also, thanks to Todd and company for chipping in to defray my expenses. That helped me not end up in the hole as much as I had expected to be.
At the UAC show in December there were about 125 people there plus bandmembers and crew. This time there were about 95 people there plus bandmembers and crew.
We went through two kegs in December. This time we almost killed four of them.
Saturday was a perfect night. The crowd was friendly and respectful and so far I haven\'t heard of any problems. I think we\'ll be welcomed back there again in the future.
Can\'t believe it\'s Monday morning and I\'m STILL hungover. I must be getting old.

I\'m still out a few hundred bucks but that\'s life. If I hadn\'t gotten those two other kegs I probably would have been closer to breaking even. But live and learn!
All things reconsidered, it was worth it. Seems like everyone who went had an amazing night so mission accomplished.
I\'ll try to do it again sometime. Looks like I\'m going to have to save up for a while though before that\'s going to happen.
So how was the hotel afterwards? I was planning on heading over there but the beer got the best of me.

We are all surprised anytime a show\'s attendance numbers don\'t reflect it\'s unrealized potential. The Breakfast are kings, even if only a small percentage of the live music scene knows it. However, wasn\'t there an element of secrecy surrounding this show, almost limiting the crowd to word-of-mouth from .inforumers? Marketing could be the hurdle to address next time. Were flyers for the show allowed by booking and/or management? A rule of thumb for future UAC shows could be for everyone on here to force his/herself to bring several people along to the show who wouldn\'t otherwise attend. Everyone obviously makes great strides to promote the band and find new recruits that will fall head-over-heels for the Staven quartet.

It seems to be the achilles heel of the band. I dont want to stir up trouble or anything but what the hell is their management doing ? I get an e-mail from the band every now and again saying whats going on but my understanding is that Tim does that. I get all my info from here and generally it is someone from here doing some promo stuff on other sites etc. These guys picked up new managament months ago and I don\'t really see anything different in regards to promotion or anything like that. Perhaps I am not looking in the right places but I just dont see much difference.

I don\'t think this show is a good gauge as to how the band is doing for grassroots, promotion, etc. I think this was more of a party than a show, just so that things didn\'t get too crazy in that concert hall. You promote open bar for $20 and you\'re going to get mad heads.
As far as promotion for other real shows, they can concentrate on that now that the album is out. I\'m sure they\'ll do their best for the upcoming tour and they\'ll play for many a packed room.

As far as promotion for other real shows, they can concentrate on that now that the album is out. I\'m sure they\'ll do their best for the upcoming tour and they\'ll play for many a packed room.
I also hope they pair up with a few bands for those cities that may only draw a light crowd due to lack of Breakfast exposure. I remember some good crowds on past tours due to other bands having a local niche.

I don\'t know what went down everywhere/anywhere with girl on girl action but all I can confirm is that I woke up in room 322. There was Buquebus (hardLuckHarry on Pheesh) Igz and Postom.
These were my first 6 minutes that I joleted down upon awakening.

Rude awakening in Bridgeport Ct. 9:22am sunday post UAC breakfast show.
Three things combined forces to rattle my world Sunday morning. The early morning sun, a "dready" kid whom I knew by the name of Hard Luck Harry and a Filet-O-Fish that was no more than 18" from my face and at least a day old. I know this because nobody could/would vouch for it\'s presence and being downtown Bridgeport my sanitary expectations for the establishment were not very elevated and I had no reason to doubt what I was being told by my surroundings.
The first issue was rapidly resolved when Melissa got up, pulled the shades shut and barred the sun from the room. Instant gratification is almost always pleasant in these kind of situations and given the fact that it helped dull the rapidly onsetting physical reminder of a open bar made this case no exception. The beers of choice were Sierra Nevada, Guiness and Heineken with a fully stocked bar, def. no holding back on the expenses here and while all might have been free only a few hours ago I was due to pay the price today.
Once the question of the sunlight was resolved, Hard Luck Harry became quite talkative. He had a flash of someone repeatedly calling him a wookie while he had passed out on the floor. Apparently causing him much torment he was determined to find out who it was. At this time the Filet-O-Fish and it\'s odor became much more pungent and suddenly brought on a flashback/memory/Déjà-vu of my own.
I was transported back to last summer where after a show at LaBoca when I awoke downtown Middletown. At first thought the situation might not sound that bad but there are a few things that should be added. I had been seeing "GoClicPhan" at the time but we kind of got into a "situation" that evening so...
Expectations: Great show, have some drinks and waking up next to/spooning my girlfriend at her place two street corners from the show. Proceed to indulging in sex, java and a fresh copy of the NYTimes and see from there.
Reality: Great show, have some drinks and waking up next to/spooning my tackle box in the back of my wagon zero street corners from the show. Proceed to be repulsed by the odor of bait that had been forgotten a few days earlier in the bottom of my box and have Java with some homies on the street while I read a copy of some tabloid out of NYC.
Needless to say, the only thing that got thrown out of my life faster than the chick was the rotting fish. Having nobody to throw out of my life on this glorious morning I attacked the "rotting fish of the day" problem that I had.
Still laying in bed, I lunged for the Filet-O-Fish. Now, at this time while determined to fight the urge of opening it and getting the visual image that would have helped in resolving it\'s age I was quite uncertain of how my curious nature would react once it was in my hands. Upon contact with the box I saw the light and the answers to all our remaining questions were answered . The amount of grease that had soaked through the box and seeped onto my hands clearly indicated it\'s purchase date was somewhere around March 27th. My mad rush to the bathroom to dispose of the Filet-O-Fish brought a sense of physical reality upon me that made me realize my real age and answered Hard Luck Harry\'s question as well.
It was a six pack of midgets whom had obviously snuck into our room and taken turns kicking me and calling him a "wook" while we were all zzz\'ing away.

Get used to GoClic world. Seriously I have NO clue. All I know it that it was there, it didn\'t smell good (coming from a guy who had 17.27 IPA\'s over the last 12 hours you can comprehend what that implies).
In retrospect there are two possibilities. It was indeed just laying there for the past two weeks (who the hell rents a roon d-town Bridgeport in April?)
OR!
Rich from Philly (the taper) was in a TURBO-rush and had them "bag it, tag it and sell it to the butcher in the McDee\'s" (without proper "degreasing/shaking).
In any case I had awoken to prettier sights/aroma\'s.

No clue, Igz and I paid for room to Melissa didn\'t reserve. Don\'t care as highlight was the freaking ENERGY that was taking the place down from 10:12--->12:57am, not what room I found a pillow to drool on and catch ringworm from.

I actually forgot that I would be getting a nice chunk of change back once I returned the taps, tubs and kegs. So I\'m much closer to breaking even now.
And I\'ve definitely spent a lot more money on nights I\'ve gone out in NYC and haven\'t had nearly as much fun as I did at UAC. So it\'s all good.
We\'ll take over UAC again sometime in the future. I\'m sure of it. But no meat shots allowed. Those things look nasty.
Oh, and sorry to any of you who got badgered by that drunken cop latenight. My contact at UAC told me to call him if that ever happens again and he\'ll be there in minutes to get rid of anyone hassling us.

finally downloaded this show, just got done listening to most of it, through HLH pt.2. the sound is unbelievable, props to whoever recorded.

Episode II (Mooboo\'s Voodoo) as i listen to it again and with a much different head, i am melting into my computer chair at about 7 minute mark in track 10 disk 1.
