hockey salaries are close to 75% of the NHL income, unlike no other sport. Football, Baseball, are somewhere in the area of 10-20% of gross income. this is why there is a lockout. the nhl cant afford to keep paying these salaries, nor can it afford to lose it talent overseas. players must agree to take paycuts but only in extreme Superstar salary cases. this is a very complicated issue that cant be put so succinctly...

First of all, I dont care how juiced up you are, you still need the ungodly hand eye coordination to connect the meat of a 2.125" barrel of bat to a baseball coming in at 75-95 miles per hour. Therefore, I do not think these men are cheaters by any means. Idiots, yes, cheaters, no. Steroids do not help you hit a baseball, plain and simple. Bonds is an asshole, and I do not like the man, but one remarkably true statement he made a month or so ago was if you have 75,000 people telling you that you suck, you must be pretty friggin good.
I grew up a Ken Griffey Jr. fan, and to be honest, if he wasn\'t so injury prone no one would even care about Barry Bonds. Griffey is 35 years old right now, with 500 career homers. By my stupid math, he missed pretty much a little over two seasons total (I could be off). 1996-2000 he hit 49,56,56,48,40. That\'s basically 50 a season. So if he missed, say, a season and a half due to injury, and hypothetically did not miss that time he would be at 650 right now, at AGE THIRTY FIVE, and that is just ridiculous. 105 home runs to go at only age 35? Barry Bonds who? Unfortunately alls anyone can do is wonder "what if", and that is truly a shame. If he stays healthy, I think he will eclipse the 700 plateau, and that is remarkable.
And on to hockey! Ah, screw it, I won\'t even go there, I can argue all night.

if anything, they will allow you to play longer. it seems these guys are less prone to aging/injuries, so playing till your 43 is now easier to do

An athlete playing a major sport in our country and the world for that matter are not normal human beings. THAT"S WHY THEY ARE ATHLETES!! They do things that the normal joe/jane CAN NOT DO. STEROIDS OR NOT!! This is a fact most people conveniently forget. Yes Steroids can help the body heal faster and take more abuse but athletes today CANNOT be compared to other eras when it comes to body dimensions. HUMANS in GENERAL are larger/stronger AND Healthier than ANY time in our recorded history. For me I love Baseball and always will regardless of whom took steroids or not.
Oh yeah and imo Jose Conseco should be put in a room w/ the guys he accused and put on a strecher when he leaves that room. Fuckin\' little bitch!!

Maybe with Bonds out of the picture, someone truly deserving of the MVP (Pujols) will get it this year. Personally I hope Bonds never plays again.

Bonds probably is the best baseball player of my time. Ever great sports hero/icon/figure has had some sort of story to go with him/her. It\'s no wonder Bonds ended up like this, arguably the best hitter of our time, i have never heard of a steriod that increases the strength of an eye or I would have 4 eyes!
Anyways, this is the guys legacy. No one wanted him to break McGuire\'s record because of race issue. Bonds just finally gave up with all this media attention. Luckily, he and many of the other sportsfigures get paid so much that a year out of work won\'t hurt.

i dont know, im kind of back and forth with this thing. in a way, their whole life is baseball and if there is a way to get better i guess i cant hold it against em. i guess they arent doing damage to anyone but themselves, and shit i definitely do enjoy watching bombs being dropped all the time.
but, then i think about my brother who is a semi-pro ballplayer who will never touch juice and hes kind of fucked because it definitely would up his play, its a fact guys. it does make you bigger, faster, stronger. and on top of it the mentality and adrenaline that goes along with steroids is not comparable to a kid who is clean. the total package definitely makes a big difference, the facts are right in front of us.
