:( :( Heard about this Wednesday night from the js board. A very sad day indeed. Airplane were one of the few groups where the main members had all survived into the 21st century - only onje of the great psychedelic bands to do so I believe. Sure, we lost Papa John, but he wasn\'t there in the beginning and Skip moved on far too quickly to ever establish himself. Spencer WAS the Airplane\'s drummer and possessed a great talent.

Very true - in fact he spent longer with them than with the Airplane.
