Just saw this follow up to the remake of the original....
Good movie.
The best was in the first 15 minutes we are taken to post casino heist hideouts of each memeber of the 11.
Danny and Tess Ocean (Clooney and Julie Roberts) are hiding out in the beautiful treelined streets of East Haven, Connecticut......
There was even a scene with Clooney doing some jewlery shopping in downtown Staven with a nice outside shot. I couldnt tell if it was legit or not, but it was cool to see....
Too bad Sodoburgh didnt hire \'Stavens own TPalms to compose the music for the \'Staven scene.....

heh - you beat me to it steve!

i thought this movie PALED in comparison to its predecessor.

which one? the original or the remake?

both!

I thought O-12 was a fine follow up to O-11.
It will never equal the original because Clooney and Pitt will never ever be as cool as Dean Martin and The Chairman of the Board.

I was stuck sitting next to a group of teenagers the other night while watching this. Even worse...we were stuck in the front row. My date *HAD* to get that cup of coffee. At least I had him to lean on when my neck started to kill me.
Introducing...Tess as Julia Roberts. That was a cute little bit. Oher than teenagers and bad seats it was a decent movie. And Clooney is showing his age...not that it\'s a bad thing. Most men would kill to age that gracefully.
Paul can probably attest to this one. I was never much of a supporter of Matt Damon, Dogma aside of course, but he\'s just so damn lovable in this flick. And then watching Bourne Supremacy last night...the kid has good range.

I\'d agree about never being a great fan of Matt Damon. I tend to lump him together with DiCaprio and Pitt in the "Pretty Boy" league, who can\'t really act. Thought he was better in Bourne Supremacy, but as for Dogma, what do you expect? With a writer/director like Kevin Smith, he was bound to look good.

ok.. i gotta throw in my DiCaprio defense here...
i think he gets a bad rap because of Titanic, The Beach, and such.. but his performances in The Basketball Diaries and What\'s Eating Gilbert Grape were absolutely stunning. some of the best stuff i\'ve ever seen. i thought he was pretty good in Catch Me If You Can as well. still haven\'t seen Gangs Of New York.. i know.. i\'ll get to it at some point..
also looks like he may have another hit in Scorsese\'s upcoming The Aviator (http://www.miramax.com/aviator/).
pretty boy? maybe.. but he can definitely act...

I must admit that GG was a great film and yes, he was pretty good in that, but since then he\'s gone downhill, or rather he has never fulfilled his promise. Thought GONY was fairly average and I along with many friends was disappointed by it given its cast and crew - they wasted a damn good actor in DD Lewis, though to be fair, he\'s never going to match My Left Foot - whoever the director is.
Catch was enjoyable enough, but I just don\'t rate DiCaprio as a trully great actor with whatever that special ?? factor is which means he will be remembered in twenty, thirty years time. Perhaps he needs to take a real risk and do something completely unexpected to raise his game a little., though I\'m not sure what that could be.

why do we all get sucked in by actors playing mentally handicapped? i watched Radio last night and thought, "wow, that Cuba sure can act!" Then I think about how most of my friends act like retards naturally.... how hard can it be?
-
yeah that blows my mind! play a retard and you\'re automatically the greatest actor since jesus.
-
Especially Sean Penn in "I Am Sam". It seemed to me like he was acting the way that most of us, in our immature years (yesterday), make fun the mentally handicapped.
See you guys in Hell for that - not at the Academy Awards. :drew:

Other than the Basketball Diaries where I felt DiCaprio was ever so slightly outshined by Mark Wahlberg, I would have to say that Leo is one of the most versitile and captivating actors out there today. I cannot wait to see The Avaitor....
I still haven\'t seen Gangs either Dave......But will soon enough....
-
you\'ve been in love w/ Wahlberg ever since that final scene of boogie nights

Slim, do you realize that it has been 3 years 2 months and 1 day since we made that wager on 9-14-01 while stuck in Aruba? 3 years to go. time will tell on this one
-
i saw it last night and was extremely disappointed ... the scene with tess playing Julia Roberts was awful and 15 minutes too long ... it wasn\'t as edgey or captivating as the first one and jumped all over the place ... don\'t waste your money unless you go for a matinee
the best part of the movie was the music - great stuff!!
CTers - tuesday nights in trumbull at the crown marquis all day movies only 6 bucks
