Tonight was AWESOME!!! Def. one of my top Timmy shows to date! Adrian on bass drum/ congas/ plastic block & cow bells. He was on FIRE! Playing anything that his hands and/ or sticks could reach. Ron on lyrics for at least a half dozen songs. The ones I can remember right now include; Needle and The Damage Done, Dimension 5, Been Caught Stealing and New Beginning. There were others, but I\'m too tired to remember.
Oh...and kudos to Johnny Upstate\'s new do!!!! Almost didn\'t recognize him when he walked in.
-
Ronnie also sang lifes been good.
Good time tonight.
I dont know how but we made it home in like 45 min...wierd.
Goodnight
-
thanks for singing life\'s been good! it is a true holly burke favorite.. i loved hearing folsom prison since i watched walk the line for like the 5th time in the last month yesterday afternoon  came down at the very last minute. glad we made it. great seeing everyone, especially billy chags! oh yeah, sidebar sucks!

i have no idea what happened. don\'t think i was going too fast on the way back up..maybe we fell into a time portal or something. this has happened to me before in new york city (getting back to my old town in westchester in like 25 mins). some strange supernatural occurence or something special took place..

thanks to adrian and ronnie for rocking it with me last night. ronnie also sang inner glimpse with me besides the other songs (d5, lifes been good, been caught stealing, new beginning, needle and damage done). the mikes song jam was ridiculous and the last half hour of the 2nd set was crazy. animal said it best - "that was a psychotic set." next sidebar Adrian will be playing with me again. no date as of yet. i will promote the show a little more next time to get more peeps there. thanks to all who came. wasn\'t the typical sidebar night but it was a stellar evening of music. probably the best musical sidebar yet. thank you. peace

oh yeah, sidebar sucks!
:hscratch:
You suck! ;)

the layout of that place really bothers me. there is such limited space to be up watching the music and whatnot. i always feel like i am in the way/other people get in my way when i am there.
-
I feel like the block piece in tetris when all you need is the long straight piece to complete a line when I am in that place.

 Gencs told me this last night and it made me laugh!
-
That is the reason i gave Billy Chags for not coming earlier in the night. I always end up watching from outside at Sidebar.
-
did they play near the window or in the college dorm room?
-
they played near the front window... Adrian was crunched into the corner, but made it work by also adding the bar ledge & a speaker pole to his drums! It was a GREAT show, & I\'m hoping that the Breakfast can cover "Been Caught Stealing" @ a future show - Ronnie\'s vocals were awesome!
-
i completely appologize for not updating the thread about the potential sitins..
i blame jack herer.
sorry deary..
-
Jack had nothing to do with it.

this was a really good night that i almost missed. I was at a birthday dinner/cocktial celebration for a friend from my old software job. We ate at FIRE (the old Polo Club on Crown St) and then went to the new bar Firehouse 12 for drinks...... It was a great night, but something was telling me to hit up sidebar. As billychags and I arrived at Sidebar, the Breakfast was on the stage Tim-guitar, Adrian-ser acoustical drum setup, Save-vocals, playing New Beginning......
A great night of music indeed.....
The highlight of the night, ALMOST, was when tim and adrian started playing Col. Forbins Ascent. They teased it and upstate almost lept out of his skin. Ellis was called up to the mic to sing, but tim called him to get up and sing some other song he was talking about....Definitely would have been cool to see upstate on vocals....ahhhh well.... next time.....

I would have loved to hear or see Upstate pull this off:
Colonel Forbin stared up at the mountain
And wiped away the beads of sweat
That glistened on his brow
His tired feet were buried in the quagmire
And his bloodshot eyes saw all that lay between him
And fulfillment of his vow
And he felt his fingers wrap around a knotted root
And pulled his body upwards
To a sea green mossy boulder
And he dragged his weary carcass [or "shit-ass"] up the mountain
And he climbed so slowly
He climbed so slowly
Ahead
Ahead
Suddenly he heard the crack of thunder
And the rocks began to crumble overhead
And tumble down the mountain to the
Dismal swamp that lay beneath the jagged cliffs
through which his path had led
And the earth began to quake beneath his feet
And the mighty mountain changed before his eyes
And he stood amidst a sea of dust and rocks and stones
Cascading down the mountain
And a thousand birds were headed for the sky. Oh...
The sacred creed will be yours
And if you wait until tomorrow
The sacred creed will be yours
To devour
Yours
To seize
And to obey
Obey
When the dust had cleared, the colonel lifted up his head
And was driven to his knees by a blazing beam of light
And he saw the silhouette that stood before him
And he bowed in reverence
Trembling in the shadow of the mighty legend\'s form
Icculus the prophet stood before his eyes
Looking down on Colonel Forbin
Where he shuddered in the puddles and the muck
And he quietly addressed him
And he spoke so slowly
He spoke so slowly
Ahead
He said
Colonel Forbin I know why you\'ve come here
And I\'ll help you with your quest to gain the knowledge that you lack
I call upon my faithful friend the mockingbird
To fly and seize the helping book and bring it to your shack
And a tree of knowledge in your soul will grow
And the Helping Friendly Book will plant the seed
But I warn you that all knowledge seeming innocent and pure
Becomes a deadly weapon in the hands of avarice
And greed
The sacred greed will be yours
And if you wait until tomorrow
The sacred creed will be yours
To devour
Yours
To seize
And to obey
And to obey
And the famous mockingbird swooped down out of the sky and landed on Icculus\'s shoulder, and Icculus whispered into the bird\'s ear, and it flew off toward Wilson\'s castle in the valley below.

 I was excited when i saw the "new & improved" ellis stand up next to the mic... I just figured he got stagefright and scurried away... hopefully next time we\'ll get a performance! :awwyeah:
-
wait......so "The Breakfast" played? :hscratch:
-
yup - an acoustic version... sorry ya missed it, dangler. :(
-
It wasnt "The Breakfast" per say.....
More like Tim and Adrian with an extended Save sit in on vocals (and then an encore Save vocal sit in as well)
Ellis was ready to sing Col. Forbins but Tim was thinking some other song, so it never worked out......Would have been epic.

Ellis was REALLY disappointed!
