stupidd post #1

great energy in the crowd!  fun to see everyone there...

Highlights: turning into a puppet during Puppetry
               Funk-A
wearing a custom Beef Barley visor and not necessarily caring if they played that song but then having TP do a ridiculously complex and perfectly executed syncopated strumming jam in it that topped anything my funky mind could conjure up...

 :drew: funk yeah.

Psygn is awesome (with the exception of the spelling ;)).. rockin\' tune that definitely brought a smile to my face.. they soundchecked it at the last porter\'s show, but it was put on hold since.. the beginning sort of sounds like \'Rocket\' (Smashing Pumpkins), and for a second i almost thought they were playing that (prolly woulda shat myself if they did).. anyways, i really like the tune, and ronnie\'s got some nice parts in it..

Good Things is more of a ballade, which tim leads.. all i could say during it was \'People are MOIST right now!!\'.. :D good tune.. i tried transcribing some lyrics a little while ago, but it\'s not worth it with all the gaps i ended up with, so i\'ll just post them when i get them..

anyways, really fun night.. great way to say goodbye to porter\'s. why they don\'t play BOTR more often is beyond me.. definitely one of my favorite covers..

the return of Funk-A... now THAT is old school..

first set was the tits.. there was just no way the second set could top it, imo.. the sandwiches were cool (VT and WTF play very well together), but the first set was just way too far from the hook.

bye porters. thanks. :(:wave::(

the puppetry made me almost fall over 80 different times..
the band on the run is the best request ever..thanks again..
timmy p is a maniac from another planet..
the kid in the front almost found out what its like to get his face punched in at a rock and roll show..

Soooo Longggg Porters! Def a great show, I love the new tunes.  First set was def awesome, I cant get enough of Band On The Run. I hope Porters will let me back in to pick up face from the floor. The second set was molded perfectly into a nice 4 song sandwhich. Probably my fav Beef Barley to date, and I\'ve heard some pretty good ones, the jam was off the chain.  This was the second time I have heard the Vermont Song since they spiced it up, great way to keep a classic tune alive.  A nice show to end a run at my favorite Breakfast stop..........cya ya all at Harpers Ferry!

Awesome performance.  The place was hopping.  Just about everything I would expect from the closing performance of my favorite place to see the breakfast.  Thanks Porters for all the great times.  And thanks The Breakfast too.

SG = Rest in Pieces :(

I know it\'s not much but I did have a minor milestone= My 25th show YAY!!

i just have to say as timmy\'s pedalboard\'s bodyguards, we successfully prevented digger (episode III).

first set was redonkulous.  i thought psygn was a great tune, and the puppetry blew my fucking mind off.  rufus is always a pleaser as well.

see the light always gets me goin, but this one didnt top the lions den version for me.  VS>WTF>VS>WTF>VS definitly surprised me.  they really killed those tunes and the segues were FLAWLESS.  good way to send porters off to new management.

Oh no! They busted out TWO new tunes? What the hell is Gencs gonna bitch about now?
But on the ser tip, Nice to see they sent Porter\'s out right. Gravity opener? You had to know the place was in for some shit! Rufus closing the 1st set? OK whatever GUYS!!!! I\'m thinking they are gearing up for a fine October.
This will be up when? How about mp3\'s of the new tunes somewhere?hmmmm? That would be dope.

Nearly lost my face once again in there. Absolutely brain-melting energy, the place was sticky with it. For that guy in the front, leave the band to play, your job is to throw down some funky shit.  Just to shout out to all those heads that get down as hard as I do, better than E. Cheers porters, raise a toast to thee.

are you ser guy?  that was unreal.  gravity opener was raging, as was pretty much every song last night.  VT Song + WTF? = take 2 incredibly average songs and put them together and you get a legendary jam.  what the hell did jamie take?  she nearly killed the encore w/ her belligerence, either way, what a way to close that place down.  how i\'m gonna make it there tonight is completely unknown.

is that all of Psygn?

dude these tunes are really cool, definitely very beatles. i like where theyre going here, some nice variety and tim\'s voice just keeps getting better. these songs both sit in his vocal strength. damn, this is exciting, especially cuz you know the next couple new tunes will probly rage after some slower stuff. Good Times outro is definitely EPIC. 15 minute version to close a NYE show in the future will have people crying and finding God.

thanks chris.

its cool to hear these tunes and get an idea of what they will sound like once the band is totally comfortable with them, and finds their notch within the tunes.  Good Things will be HUUUUUUGE.  That ending will probably bring a tear to my eye when i hear it really hit its peak performance...

Great show last night.  I thought the first set was good, but not as good as people are making it out to be.  the highlights were a raging puppetry and a perfect band on the run.  I don\'t remember to much of that first new song (psygn), gonna have to listen to it again, but I liked good things ALOT!!!  Rufus was rufus, but didn\'t seem to catch me like other one\'s have, but you can\'t complain about a rufus.  The sandwitches in the second set were perfect, and stl was nuts.  Great way to close out Porters.  Weren\'t their susposto be drink specials all night???
Dave, thanks again for those cd\'s!!

Thanx for the tunes Chris!
So after listening I like the vocal melody of Psygn but the music of Good Things. Good Things sounded more complete than Psygn. I can hear Psygn developing quickly though.
I think it\'s cool that they are developing a very unique sound which is different than what they have sounded like. It is a much fuller sound. It is a more mature sound.
I like the fact that they debuted a song(Psygn) that sounds so rough. It shows they are willing to let the song grow on stage right from the get go. It reminds me of the 1st time I heard Guyute. I remember thinking cool song but that middle part needs some work. The song had only been in the set for about a month but you could tell it was a keeper. Psygn I think sounds a bit disjointed but once it gets smoothed out OH BOY!

A blistering, experimental show and a fitting end to a place that hosted several of them. Thank you Porter\'s. Thank you Breakfast. Thanks to everyone.

I enjoyed the first set slightly more due to Puppetry. It exemplified what the night was about. Craziness that was at times contained, at times unleashed, and always knowing which of those two ways to go. I felt the band was challenging themselves: risking it, not fearing it.

For those of you wondering, latenight did rage at The Hotel TKA. I think the lesson of the night, and I cannot believe that this lesson still needs repeating, but if you are going to pass out, please remember to kick off your shoes.....Zurflu, you\'re a good sport...No hard feelings....

Wah: Dude, dude get up, you gotta go....
Zurflu gets up with the most confused look on his face, and Wah abruptly ganks the entire couch right out from under him.  One of the funniest things I\'ve seen in a long long time.  (prob had to be there though)
