that is true. and this \'at least a few people there\' must have been really enjoying it, which after reading said setlist, I don\'t see how they couldn\'t have.

And I suppose MIAB has been taken from its spot next to the peanut butter.

L.A. Woman > Episode 3 (Awakening)

Now that\'s how to close a set!  No more of this set II cover closer nonsense.  Play your cover, make people smile, then knock \'em out with your own song.

Double encore? WOOT! Hopefully there were a few people there and it wasn\'t that people got pissed after MIAB.

UAC II i believe.  interesting tidbit, they also played thumpasarus at UAC II.

this setlist looks off the hook.  i might even let them slide on the MIAB.

I saw a show in Aiken SC where they played China Cat and message in a bottle - remember that one Marcial?  I prefer China Cat, but miab seems to be a crowd pleaser.  Just don\'t close the show with it - bring in a solid original for a closer.

Ok I found the setlist from 3/20/04 Aiken SC:

Funk>Vermont Song, Beef Barley, Taboo or not Taboot> CHINA CAT SUNFLOWER > Puppetry, No Regret, Drunk Monk, Superfly Phaddy Fat, LOTG, LA Woman, May Fly, Phaddy Boom Baddy, WPOAC, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE

So they did play China Cat and MIAB in the same show before!

That surprises me Dave,

I dont\' hate the song, there are just many other things I\'d rather hear.

I\'ll tell you what thou, Ron loves to sing this tune.  They played place called Jellybeans in upstate New York, and they rean outta time, and the whole ride home that\'s all I heard outta Save, he kept breakin out into it in the ride home......

I do remember that show very well... it was in the evening after an afternoon show in Atlanta.  I remember pulling into the venue with the band van... late... after high-tailing it from ATL, and the place being pretty well packed.  The sound was hella bad (could barely make out the vocals), but the show was ROCKIN.  I remember seeing lots of jaws on the floor...

I hope you have fun at the show in AZ...

that place was the ABC Brewing Co. or sumthin, I left there with some heady growlers, that lasted me the next couple days of the tour

and MIAB is what hooked my roommate\'s father who keeps asking me for more shows (finally clued him into the archive), reason why I requested it at The Call way back when (his first show). guess he was a huge police fan and he said they do it the best he has ever heard besides the original. he\'s also been anticipating a providence show and warned me that he may show up with a bunch of old guys. to quote him "these guys are everything that we looked for in music all wrapped into one"

The floor was shaking alright.  The venue was pretty hooptie, like it used to be somebody\'s house.  It\'s just a matter of time before the floor caves in at that place. Also I noticed they played LA woman at both 3/20/04 and 3/15/06.  So China Cat, LA woman, and MIAB must all go together somehow.  Or maybe just coincidence.

I know ChrisF was planning on going w/ me but now that I am not going (being responsible and working) to the AZ shows and now NM he is hoping alZ can bring him back to Diego.
I know he is down for NM so if he can just ride back w/ you alZ does not have to detour! Chris just needs to be back in S.D for his flight by the 3rd

Confirmed.  Ramada hotel in Tempe, and prob. hotel Monte Cristo in Flagstaff (within easy walking distance of the venue).  I can\'t do NM because it\'s just too long a haul - I\'m thinking 7-8 hrs minimum from Flagstaff to Alberquerque.
