"And She Was" wouldn\'t be my first choice, but I\'m definitely not complaining about a Talking Heads cover. Can\'t wait to hear it, looks mighty on paper (err... screen).

last night definitely topped thursday at the wheelhouse for me.

i\'m still getting used to the new songs..i like rush a lot, not sure how i feel about the message though. living daylights is fucking intense!! awesome gravity in the 1st set. hlh and scheme owned 2nd set. and she was isn\'t really a song i would expect the breakfast to cover, but i enjoyed it a lot. i would rather hear other talking heads songs being covered, but i\'ll take it. time of the season was cool too-also unexpected. ser queeb encore!!

things got kind of weird in the second set when that strange bald man doll that looked like matt\'s evil twin made it on stage. :wah:

the energy of \'living daylights\' is so raw and intense.  both versions so far have rocked the fuck out of everyone.  wish i could\'ve continued the rest of the weekend, but it had to end with 2 solid back-to-back shows that will remain memorable for quite some time to come.  def. worth the drive home in the snow.

this was my first chris show and it definitely did not disappoint.  this was also the first time hearing a lot of the new songs too.  i really like the jam part in rush, it sounds like it should be played at red rocks or any other open air venue.  the message was alright, nothing too impressive to me.  and she was was great!  please cover more talking heads.  matt ostreicher has a little david byrne in him!

i thought first set was a little slow, but second set definitely picked up and ripped it up.  hlh was sick, i\'m glad i was there for the bust-out.  living daylights was pretty nasty as well.  i will agree that matt\'s evil twin debut was pretty weird but i guess it was a good intro to living daylights.  scheme was great as usual, and the fact that they covered time of the season was the shit!!!  i got so excited when i peeped that on the setlist.  thanks for a good time last night.  and thanks mel for the ride and the pizza and rolls!!

I\'d say that Hard Luck Harry was the musical highlight of the night, and I will second the good size dance crowd that was going.

Also, I thought it was interesting that they (the venue) turned on the "house lights" during bequebous as a "please leave now singal"

great show in the snow.

Extraordinarily wacky show with plenty of on-stage hijinks.

Highlights included a great Gravity jam, a highly atypical Escher\'s 2, and Chris\'s first Hard Luck.

There are many, many Talking Heads\' songs that I\'d rather hear than And She Was, but the crowd was definitely receptive and the segue was outstanding.

Time of the Season was a little rough for me to process, especially its placement.

Buquebus was well on its way before the lights went on. Tough to start that one at 1:48.

Oh yeah, in case you hadn\'t noticed, Rush is fucking awesome and I certainly don\'t mean the band.

In other news, Matt ventured into the crowd (I think during The Sound) with a mannequin that sort of looks like a green anorexic version of himself.

And perhaps the highlight of the entire night was the mannequin\'s pre-show, backstage defiling as it was repeatedly beaten and occasionally dry humped by members of the band and its clan. Can\'t wait for those videos to surface.

Thanks to Dave for being behind the wheel and braving the elements on a treacherous ride home.

It would be extremely disappointing if it wasn\'t taped and we do not get the pleasure of listening to that Hard Luck again...it is amazing that they had barely even ran through that song before and pulled out a version like that

bd, i didnt even see you the whole night, how\'d i miss you??  I personally thought hardluck was possibly the best thing i\'ve ever heard any band play. ever.first set gravity was very very good and rush was as well.  I really enjoyed both the covers, and it didnt bother me in the least that they had to cut buquebus short, it left everyone wanting more, which is a good thing!! the energy in that place was exploding through the roof when the band stopped

immediate top 5 show i\'ve seen

I just think it\'s cool that they are constantly joking around on stage (see sunday\'s antics). It makes the show all that more fun to watch.

Also, I know this is a total n3b question; why does the light show vary so much night-to-night?  My guess is that not every venue has the capicity for all the toys...

for example, thrusday show @ wheelhouse > friday show @ mill street (in terms of lights)

depends on the size of the venue and what they have for a rig already installed to determine what elis can bring inside to use any given night.

i\'m not really one for ranking shows, but this would be a top 3 for me (all time) and the best i\'ve seen with chris. like with many breakfast shows, the setlist really doesn\'t do the show justice.  i\'m not a huge escher\'s fan, i\'m still undecided on the new songs, and (like many) i would have chosen about 20 other talking heads songs before \'and she was\'...but the first set was fantastic.  i really like EE broken up like that, they rocked the new songs out, and the segue and execution of \'and she was\' was absolutely perfect...i thought they were just teasing it a little and i couldn\'t believe they were actually playing it...can\'t wait to see it some more.

jam>HLH was huge and i\'m so glad this song is back.  if that\'s how it sounds when the band doesn\'t really know it, i can\'t wait to see what it mutates into over the next few years.  living daylights seemed a lot more enjoyable this time around compared to the wheelhouse (though i\'m still not sold on all the vocals). i don\'t remember the sound.  scheme>time of the season>scheme was another flawlessly executed segment.  i was trying to make out what scheme was going into on the setlist but i just could n\'t make it out.  i\'m glad i didn\'t because i probably would have been down on it if i saw it. i thought it was a great fit, and another great segue.  buquebus was a great encore choice even if it was just the first half...totally left me wanting more.

if there were first timers at that show, i don\'t know how they couldn\'t be hooked...or at least hooked enough to see them next time at mill street.  the tim vs. the manequin (frederick?...was i so fucked up that i made that name up myself) wrestling match was absolute chaos and it\'s clear that the crowd was loving it.

i\'m really excited about the new songs and the new covers and the new bass player and the band in general

go breakfast!
