rush ? ! what the fuck i retire
-
wow. just wow. unfortunately, way too short! kinda surprised at how early they ended.
oh and gravity was great!
-
wanted tpo make it but had to work this am on the beach at 9am so the late start made this show one i had to miss. still waiting on a nj gig :)
-
I really enjoy Honey Butter and Beef Barley last night. I brought a friend who had never been to a show and she was really feeling it. At one point during Honey Butter she got up and danced with me, so I knew she liked it.
Was bummed it was short, but was secretly happy because I had to catch a train back to LI and didn\'t want to miss any songs.
Had fun pre-gaming with everyone!
-
....i stand corrected nick and zuke, i think we were also talking about two different things at first maybe, i\'m pretty sure you (zuke) said echidna\'s was in the middle of honey butter, and nick was saying it was in the middle of gravity. whatever, i would\'ve liked to have been there but when a garage wanted $15 up front and then $40 after 2 hours, i had to fend for myself, so because we got to the place at like 12:30, we still had to drive around for almost 1/2 hour, guess that\'s what happens. i was very happy with what we saw. gravity was pretty good, inner glimpse was great, jordan was havin\' a blast, too. i saw jordan looking at some papers after gravity, i knew it was gonna be something interesting, never thought of rush in a million years. glad it\'s back! i don\'t think i ever heard one that sounded like tha before, it was so hard and fast at the end, almost too fast, but man was it fuckin\' impressive. the bartender gave me a free shot for some reason, i asked for a shot and a water, she gave it to me and shook her head. it\'s must\'ve because i undid another button on my shirt cuz it was hot as hell in therel.

it was a fun time. been a long while since ive caught em(first time since jordans return) and i was quite impressed with how far along they have come.
oh and colin, i got home at like 4am, been up since 830-9 watching zoe and chasing her all around the park and the house. but sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do :)
breakfast post moe. inside the pony, get er done
-
ive already planted that seed, the breakfast\'s management should also contact kyle at the pony to try and get on it, and they should contact moe. incase moe. is choosing thier latenights...
-
i believe the breakfast is booked at toad\'s on 7/4, but the pony for two nights post moe. would be a much much better gig! especially, b/c i\'ll be there ;->

rush ? ! what the fuck i retire

whole lotta love was dank

i was surprised there were no CT heads last night
No you weren\'t. Come On.
-
I was!
-
um...me, jen, holly, nick, zuke, todd, and robin are from ct. well i think nick is from ct anyway.
-
:awwyeah: Great show, as per usual! Rush was insane... My only complaint was Gravity - I love it, but thought it was too slow a song to play at that point in the night.
Adrian was siiick on the drums and Jordan played Rush better than it\'s ever been played before. It must be the new fresh cuts on they got.
Also, Schumacher\'s sit in was awesome... So it\'s been 5 years, and I\'m still hoping for that guy to join the band as lead singer! ;)
-
i thought this entire show was awesome, from start to finish. but Rush and Whole Lotta Love were just over the top. i so wish this was taped.
imo, i thought this was one of the better crowds the breakfast had going by 2 a.m. maybe still about 50 or so people there getting down pretty hard (and still drinking it up). i mean, one guy had to be pulled off the stage after he got up on it during the chase, singing out the lyrics. i was surprised they ended so early. i still had at least another hour or so of booze, et al., left in my system for fuel!
hey zuke, do you remember what song it was that we were dancing together? it was a bit "electronic" sounding and i thought it was awesome. the band was really patient with the jam. and the crowd off to the left of the stage was groovin, too.
-
So. Much. Fun. Love Beef Barley! Thanks for the love everyone!
ditto and right back at ya!! pregame was awesomeness. and zenovia is adorable!
on the train down, my bro in law was like, i really want to hear beef barley and the chase. i was like, good call, but those aren\'t really "regulars" much these days. lo and behold -- he gets both! we danced our asses off during BB. worked up quite a sweat!
-
so wait, gravity is a slow song?
-
so because we got to the place at like 12:30, we still had to drive around for almost 1/2 hour, guess that\'s what happens.
so i\'m driving straight to the city from a gig in philly and as i\'m about to turn onto sullivan street from bleeker, the huge limo in front of me decides to BACK UP for some reason, crunching in my front left fender. (bear in mind this was the last place on my car that was relatively unfucked. no ridiculous body work that resembles paper mache, no dents from previous accidents or discolored body replacements...) so i\'m pissed, i open the window and start screaming at the dude, because he just keeps on driving! so it\'s on, i\'m following the fucker. but just as i\'m approaching sullivan hall, i see a parked car pop their blinker on. i\'m faced with a decision... get justice or a slammin parking spot. i took the parking spot.
-
so wait, gravity is a slow song?
I guess not - but the transition from HB made it feel like it was...
-
um...me, jen, holly, nick, zuke, todd, and robin are from ct. well i think nick is from ct anyway.
i believe eric aka incognito is from new haven...i\'ve definitely seen poorer CT showings in nyc
hey zuke, do you remember what song it was that we were dancing together? it was a bit "electronic" sounding and i thought it was awesome. the band was really patient with the jam. and the crowd off to the left of the stage was groovin, too.
hmm...details are a little hazy. gravity? i think that\'s the only song that entered EDM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_dance_music) territory. yeah everyone there was getting down pretty hard at that point...except for freespirit, apparently
good crowd, overall. way better than the last time i saw them there (last july). very good energy too. i\'m sure the weather helped. huuuuge jam into metropolis. great opener. awesome middle jam that just slammed into the ending. they hit it hard and had the crowd in the palm of their hand just like that. honey buttter was good, but didn\'t stand out for me, except for the echidna\'s in the middle. i\'m not a huge zappa fan, but this song is pretty sweet and band was really tight. don\'t remember the segues. gravity was my highlight of the night. shit got crazy. i think it was in gravity where they laid down the dancey stuff. the jam was more than just that. they took it to a few different places. i\'d love to hear this one again. don\'t recall the segue into IG, but the segue out of it was just the end of IG, a small pause, and then the beginning of the composed ending of gravity. before rush, tim mentioned they "haven\'t played this one in a while." this happened to be my smoke break song. caught the very end of the jam. guess i missed out. i think they started with a good times bad times fakeout for a second before whole lotta love...maybe not, but i thought i recognized some other zep song before they started. i don\'t remember too much of beef barley except for the mario tease. that was pretty cool. chase was standard but good.
i wish they could have played a little longer. the crowd was diggin it and they were playing really well. i would love to hear the metropolis and the gravity again. in fact, i would pay cash money to hear the soundboard of this show
diana thanks again for the goody bags. i\'ve always said breakfast shows need more glowsticks and raver glasses...well, maybe not, but it was good to have em last night. you should come and celebrate the actual day next friday.
-
i believe adrian started plaing the intro to good times, bad times and i was like,"............really?" glad it wasn\'t.
-
a friend of mine who was there told me tim mentioned the band is playing after fenway in boston somewhere? truth?

ha. somehow forgot about that tidbit. yeah we were pretty psyched when he mentioned this. ser biz
-
glowsticks, yes. rager glasses, no. but i just thought they were so ridiculous i had to get them. too bad they didn\'t even fit. should have known. most of those things are meant for 5 year olds!
-
a friend of mine who was there told me tim mentioned the band is playing after fenway in boston somewhere? truth?
Harper\'s Ferry.
fuck yeah!
-
*meh*, doesn\'t look like I missed much. ;)
you all got a concert in nyc, I got to babysit my friends kids so she could catch a mets game. You guys danced, I got to show off my mad skills on mario sluggers against a 7 year old and get my ass kicked. a fun night either way! rotfl
-
oooh looks like a *sexxy* set!
-
excellent crowd for new york, although i was a little disappointed that they stopped playing so early... really thought it was going to be one of those nights where the band played until past 3.
i brought a friend from the city with me who i didn\'t really think would be that crazy about the music and was loving it by the end of the night. she is now already planning on going to crash mansion.
i think they started with a good times bad times fakeout for a second before whole lotta love...maybe not, but i thought i recognized some other zep song before they started.
^^
definitely heard a good times bad times tease
-

Well... There\'s always hope.. but..
don\'t hold your breath.
a friend of mine who was there told me tim mentioned the band is playing after fenway in boston somewhere? truth?
Harper\'s Ferry.
MOST INTELLIGENT PLAY I\'ve heard in years!!
-
i didn\'t realize how close harper\'s ferry is to fenway. it\'s like a 6 minute drive, according to google. i\'m psyched
-
On a positive note, Harpers Ferry is only 2.5 miles from Fenway...
On a negative note, Harpers Ferry\'s website has Tamarama booked with The Bay State and Calling Avia opening...
For TB\'s sake, I hope this is wrong...
-
Is it a confirmed aftershow and not preshow? If so...who\'s got my crash space?
-
um... this setlist looks... grrrrrrEAT!
-
nyc\'s been bringin the heat!
-
Great show. Good crowd, lots of energy.
Galenas, nice to chat briefly with you. Next time I will try to make pre-game and we can talk without screaming.
Cobb, glad you made it even with car drama.
-
definitely make the next pregame, but we\'ll probably still be screaming as we talk. :]
-
I have relatives in NYC - I really ought to urge them to go to the next Breakfast show down there. My cousin and aunt are singers/performers and should rock out a tune.
-
think they\'d dig it?
-
a friend of mine who was there told me tim mentioned the band is playing after fenway in boston somewhere? truth?
Harper\'s Ferry.
Rumour?
-
Fucking awesome show. Always a pleasure and honor to sitin with the band.
