You know the area well... Do you have any suggestions for a hotel? No way are we driving back after this, and sleep will definitely be necessary since James and I will both have to work the next day.

If you just want a normal, clean place to sleep with cable TV... go for the Clarion.
The above offer sticks of course, for those on a budget or who aren\'t too picky about how many coils are in a mattress.

They are both run by the same people, Calvin Theater included. It\'s always a possibility. I encourage everyone to buy their tix early!!

yea I\'m aware of the Iron Horse Entertainment Group monopoly on Northampton music scene ;) To be honest it actually sucks for a lot of local artists. I can\'t really complain though, it beats living in a town where there\'s never anything going down.
I just looked at the schedule, turns out Pearl St has nothing scheduled for October 30th....

Every fan on this board who\'s going should buy their tickets for this as early as possible, if there is any chance of switching venues I don\'t think they\'re going to want to do it at the last minute. Honestly I think this is a long shot and it will be very nice to see a show in a sold-out Iron Horse. Pearl Street might not be a long shot for the next tour though :)

I actually kind of hate Pearl St upstairs as well. It\'s just kind of dirty and the sound sucks compared to Iron Horse. But they can pack probably 2-3x as many people up there.
What would be truly ser would be to see the boys graduate to The Calvin some day.

I\'m brining DV cameras. Most venue sound guys don\'t like when I bring in a on stage mic splitter or plug into their board. I would have to get permission from the venue and they probably want $ for the trouble. That\'s not going to happen. Hopefully Dave can do a simple on stage matrix. Even getting a board patch has been a pain in the ass.

It still might be worth e-mailing the venue ahead of time for a patch. I have seen Ryan Montbleau record multitrack from the board\'s direct outs a few years ago. I would be curious what they say or charge. It\'s not totally out of the question.

NoHo brewery is ok, not the greatest food. Packard\'s has some of the best pub food up there....if your looking for a great beer selection, go to the dirty truth or toasted owl. If you want wings, make the short trip to Amherst for the hanger

No it\'s not really within walking distance. You have to head down Rt 5 & 10 towards Holyoke for a couple minutes. It\'s on the right. Actually I don\'t know of any reasonably priced places within easy walking distance of downtown. There\'s the Hotel Northampton but if the rooms are anything like the meals you better be ready to pony up!

I always love hitting up the nat history. the met is a good second as well and it\'s pretty close. If you hit met they have a really cool display up on the second floor almost straight back and then to the right, it\'s all old musical equipment. pianos from the 1500\'s and stuff. wish they\'d let you play it. plus they have an pipe organ there that is just insane in size.

i\'m not sure if there\'s a coat check, but i think you\'ll be all good just leaving your coat behind the merch table or other tables around the place. it can definitely get kinda hot in there.

Here\'s the really annoying part:
The Breakfast is in Northampton tonight and Yale volleyball is at Harvard on Friday, which would be a doable trip, assuming I would have been able to find somewhere to stay. Also, Yale volleyball is at Dartmouth in New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, a mere 90 minutes from Brahlington. So it would be very possible except that, since taking the team bus for the weekend is an available option, I would not be able to recoup any travel expenses (including gas), nor would I be covered by Yale\'s insurance at any time except during the match. And seeing that I have more expenses than income right now and drive a 13 year old car with 145,000 miles on it, I just can\'t make it happen. So frustrating.
