Watch out for the Washington Wizards this season.

With the addition of Jamison, Jarvis Hayes, and Michael Ruffin....plus Gilbert Arenas, Juan Dixon, Larry Hughes, Brendan Haywood, and Etan Thomas,...thats a solid 8

Good thing they got rid of Christian "stoner" Laitner

As a Hornets fan, I\'ve already got that we\'ll get em next year attitude.  With practically no offseason moves (Rodney Rogers....oh boy), an all star that doesn\'t want to be there any more, no fans going to games, a town that already beginning to see why Charlotte hated George Shinn, and a move to West, I can\'t expect much.  Definintely one of most hurting franchises right now.  Hopefully once they get rid of Mash\'s contract, they\'ll have some money to work with......doubt B.D. will stick around that long though.

Lakers may have lost tonite but they made a game of it and showed me that with a little time together this team will be alright. Key to this is making sure Kobe and Lamar are on the floor @ the same time!!!!

Bryant had a decent game, but turned it over driving into a huge pack when the game was still up for grabs, down six with two minutes left. Odom had his best game as a Laker, but still had 6 of the team\'s 18 turnovers, in comparison to the Spurs 11. Chucky Atkins had as a good a game as any Laker, hitting 3-of-4 three-pointers, including the one that got them within six.

But nothing from the bench and you simply can\'t win when you allow anyone, in this case Duncan, to get 10 offensive rebounds, including two crucial ones down the stretch, one time after he had missed both free throws.

To the Lakers credit, the battled and battled and battled. To the Spurs credit, they got the W.

Fine!  So it\'s settled then.  No Lakers thread.  And no Lakers discussion.  Nobody talk about Kobe or the Lakers.  No Lakers talk at all.  Nobody wants to read someone talking about the Lakers.  Kobe, Peeler, Van Exel, Divac, Worthy, whoever else they have now, nobody cares.  No Laker talk.

As for Karl Malone and his comments Screw him! Kobe was being the leader he needs to be and letting his guys know he was there for them. If Karl wants to keep stringing Laker management on fine but the guys out there bustin\' ass do not need it.

Ol\' Gheorghey boy is a great actor too, co-starring with Billy Crystal in the 1998 epic MY GIANT

A summary:

Sammy, a second-rate talent agent (Billy Crystal), heads to Romania where he stumbles upon a 7-foot, 7-inch "giant" named Max (Gheorghe Muresan). George lives in a monestary and quotes Shakespeare, but Sammy believes Max could be his ticket to the top.

So Sammy and Max set out to fulfill their dreams. For Sammy, that means to make Max a big movie star and to get the credit for that transformation. For Max, it means finding his long-lost love, Lillianna (Joanna Pacula) in the desert of New Mexico. Along the way, they\'ll both experience unexpected tranformations of the heart.

The NBA sure does spawn some great actors. Get ready for Ron Artest in KAZZAM 2!!!

As much as I want to see the Lakers beat the Heat, I can\'t be too confident about Mihm guarding Shaq. You got on me for calling Wells a fat fuck. Well that fat fuck helped put up three banners in Staples. That said, I hope Kobe puts up 50 and Lakers win. But Mihm? Please! He had nearly one rebound for every Hornets loss. This Lakers team has a ton to prove, starting with the fact that its worthy of making the playoffs. Every game is pivotal and Miami is tough. To think, Shaq and Riley on the other side. But it\'s a new era now. Tough to win with just one superstar. Odom has played well. Still not in his prime. 14-11.

Post by: leith on December 23, 2004, 01:19:43 pm
Yeah you\'re right that fat fuck did help put 3 banners up and I have given kudos to him for it. That being said he is still an ass for putting his ego 1st and letting his body decline. As soon as he leaves LA he gets all "ripped" FUCK HIM If he could have just been a real man and honored his commitment to the team he signed with and kept in shape this would not have happened. Kobe would have been happy to play w/ A FIT SHAQ til the cows come home. Shaq is fat and still misses games for the Heat. Go Lakers!!!!

Post by: ChrisPitch on December 23, 2004, 01:28:01 pm
Of course I agree with the Go Lakers sentiment and I hope Kobe dunks on Shaq\'s head tomorrow. But try to understand my position that I simply can\'t let anybody rip Shaq and defend Wells, considering where the two of them rate on my all-time athletes likability scale. I\'ve never cared about whose "fault" it was that he left. I think everyone from Shaq, Kobe, Phil, Buss, and Kupchak deserves the blame, or credit, depending on how things shake out. But right now, Shaq is co-starring on the team with the best record in the East.

Yeah I had to defend Whales jus\' cause he sucked it up for my Pads. As far as Shaq you said it he is co-starring on the team with the best record in the EAST. How many really good teams are there in the East ? So here goes Whales is a fat Bosock and Shaqfat rules the East when he plays. Happy? ;)

I\'ll be happy if and when the Lakers win another championship. That would be nice. Kobe wins without Shaq and Shaq fails to win without Kobe just as was the case with Orlando. But I\'ll never hate Shaq. Ever. Even if the Heat beat the Lakers in the final, I\'ll say the Lakers had it coming. And if the Lakers beat the Heat in the final, I\'ll say fuck you to all the Kobe haters. Happy Holidays.

Nice win tonite against those pesky Warriors. Lakers are the only team w/ a winning record w/o a 3 game winning streak. 6 games over .500, 3-1 w/o Kobe, currently 6th seed learning how to play team ball. Anyone notice a familiar offense lately? Here\'s a hint   :link:  Pretty funny if ya ask me. Whatever works though huh? Liking Chucky more and more and if Lamar can just remember to play like he has when Kobe comes back .....

Leith, I\'ve been telling Laker-haters all season that they\'re better than everyone thinks and that they\'ll be a tough out in the postseason. Unfortunately, they are the worst defensive Laker team in 25 years. Butler and Odom have been highly inconsistent, Mihm is literally one of the worst players to ever wear the uniform, and Hamblen can\'t make up his mind on the rotation: one game Medvedenko and Walton play 25 minutes, the next game they play 5. And enough of Tierre Brown, already!

This has nothing to do with my allegiance. I will still read every box score and tape every highlight montage. I will still watch any televised games. And I will probably be the first to spout optimism when next season starts. But they\'re 6 games behind Denver in the loss column. The Lakers have lost 7 straight. Denver has won 13 of 14 and destroyed the Lakers without Camby and KMart. I mean, show me the legs for the Lakers to stand on. Bryant has had a great year, but there\'s no man in the middle to clog the lane, free up outside shooters, and for Phil\'s Sake, play fucking defense.

Sorry for the myopia guys but I was RAISED not to give up hope when it comes to the Lakers. I will admit to THINKING what Pitch wrote but .... Yeah the defense I thought Odom could play has never surfaced and Caron forgot all his potential back in thongland. I do think they can still make the playoffs as I have seen stranger shit happen. The team really is not that bad and with a new coach next year we will see that.
