Officials: U.S. Troops Kill Afghan Police
Jun 12 12:51 AM US/Eastern
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - U.S. forces mistakenly killed seven Afghan police and wounded four others in a friendly fire incident early Tuesday in eastern Afghanistan, Afghan officials said.
Fighting first started just before midnight Monday between Taliban militants and Afghan police, and two hours into the battle U.S. forces arrived and mistakenly opened fire on the police, said Zurmai Khan, the Khogyani district chief.
The commander at the police post, Esanullah, who goes by one name, said a U.S. helicopter fired rockets, killing seven policemen and wounding four.
"I think there was a misunderstanding—the helicopter opened fire at the police post," said Khan.

You have a bunch of young soldiers being led by the blind in Iraq and Afghanistan, we should expect nothing but mistakes since no one knows what the hell is going on over there. They are pros at keeping wars going on for thousands and thousands of years.

i suggest you all take a deeper look into the story...
"The police forces were not aware of the coalition\'s operation," said spokesman Karim Rahimi. "The police checkpoint in the area thought that they were the enemy, so police opened fire on the coalition, and then the coalition thought that the enemies were firing on them, so they returned fire back."

Ahhh...
But, it still shows the lack of communication and organization inherent in the military.

Well, when I posted that it was less than an hour after the story broke. That was the only information available at the time. (1:30 in the morning.)
