Soo good. Such high energy and intensity. Metropolis, Mayfly and Rush were insane. I loved the segue from HLH > Rush, it just turned into it. They were having a great time playing too. Chris was pissed at his mic and grabbed it really hard out of frustration to show the sound guy it was having some feedback issues. I thought it was kinda funny, and when it squealed again, it he seemed to take it out on his solo. Everything was just so well played. I really can\'t remember a Mayfly that got so crazy and frenzied before the Ahoy! part. I had my doubts once I realized it was a one setter, but from the opening jam till the end, I was SO impressed at their ability to cram so much power and fury into a set.
I feel bad for completely destroying some girl with my elbow. I caught her in the eye and her glasses flew off. What I don\'t understand is why or how she squeezed in under my arm at the exact last note of Metrop when she wasn\'t there a split second before. Wish I could say it was the first time I did that...
-

The most important part is: did you apologize? I am sure you did. :)
I was at Gillette yesterday at this country kenny chesney-zac brown band show and got my head kicked by someone with no apology. so pissed. decided country fans are drunk douchebags.
-
Metropolis and Rush were good.
Show was too short. Lots of jamming in between songs. Not one of their better 2011 shows IMO. Vermont Song for an encore??..
Turnout could have been a lot better.
-
I may be in the minority, but hell yeah with a VT Song encore. Its a tune that is fairly simple(this coming from a non-musician) and there were the guests so it was smart to play a tune that they could shred on. To each his own of course. I guess I\'m just saying that I would be psyched with that encore and in fact I was stoked listening to it last night. It was a little ragged, but oh so right. The Chase made all before it superfluous anyway.
Different strokes for different folks. One thing I do know, this is one bad ass band. Hope the guys had as much fun playing as we did listening.
-
they shred vt song.. and have fun doin it.. i love it. they make a set seem like a show thats one thing ..breakfast in a one set serving is like a meal compared to anything else.. see u all at stellas!
-
I\'m gonna have to agree to disagree with ya bd, I thought for the time they\'d been given, they managed to kill every song they played. The last shows I saw were the acoustic cafe ones, and I thought this was better than 2 out of the 3, but that\'s just me and what my standards are that I use to judge whether a show is really good or just, "eh." I was annoyed when I found out they were only playing one set, then once I realized they were rippin\' the shit out of EVERYTHING, my whole attitude and night drastically changed. Hope it was taped.
-
So glad Leith got to watch the show! The crowd DEMANDED a second encore!
-
The best band in the world(that not enough folks care about,unfortunately)..

JA-DED. Too short? Over 2 hours of music pretty much nonstop after an opener. Not too shabby. Lots of exploration with little noodling. Some truly next level jamming I recall. Vermont Song is a great encore(who doesn\'t want to end a show singing Peace and Love surrounding me?) and it\'s simple enough for guests to rip up.
Short of a sell out the turnout can always be better for ANY band.
I had a freakin\' blast last night and I was in California. The band was on point and blew my mind more than once, had some B\'Fam in the chat and some prime Cali medicine.
As I type this I am listening to the opening jam from last night which just set the whole bar high enough to challenge the guys to rip. Oh and how about that jammified The Chase second encore? That was blistering.
The best band in the world(that not enough folks care about,unfortunately)..
I kept saying that over and over last night to myself as they were killing it.
I was like 8 people on this webcast is fucked up at least the bar looked like a decent crowd.
So glad Leith got to watch the show! The crowd DEMANDED a second encore!
Thanks Ken I was so happy to see that crowd not let up. The band was also from the way they tore up that The Chase.
-
I thought the set itself was bomb-skrillet. every song during the main set was a li\'l juiced up and blown apart, that Score was off the chain, as were the Metrop, Mayfly and Rush jams. VT was kinda a let down, but the phatty Chase made up for it.
-
I haven\'t had that much fun at a breakfast show in years..
-
I had a freakin\' blast last night and I was in California.
Don\'t forget, you made some sort of declaration about coming to a Stella Blues show ;)
And I agree. It was an effin blast, and we weren\'t even there.

last night was very bittersweet to me. it was great to be at a hometown breakfast show at a proper venue w/ a solid crowd full of SER heads(freddie, gabo, colin, peaches, teddy t, aruny, wolf, jed, george, duane, eric, brandon, bonzo, tuna) the power of broseph was strong last night and the breakfast made it known by just playing a freewheeling off the charts set where every part of every song got the royal treatment. but at the same time, i couldn\'t help but thinking \'what if this is the last time i get to hear \'score\' live?\' etc. i got over that as best i could and made sure to pop in and out of the front to show my appreciation for the boys as only i can. seriously, this band puts more improvisation in the shows opening jam than most bands(phish, moe., bisco included) do in their entire shows. from now on when i grade concerts from any band its gonna be on 2 levels, the first being the kinda show attainable from any band, and the higher being the kinda show comparable to a breakfast intro jam.
oh and there was a \'hot in here\' by nelly tease from tim in the intro to one of the songs, score maybe?
-
"See The Light" killed, IMHO. Here\'s some video proof. Make sure to watch/listen in 720p.. sorry for my less-than-pro abilities!

Love the guys and all of the B\'Fam. Hell of a show last night, bring it on Stella\'s!
-
mediocre show. too many notes from tim. too many epic tunes. not enough chill out ballads.
jk. raged, obv. hope to make some monday nights in sept!!
when was the esther tease in the chase?
-
I\'m hardly jaded. If you recall I\'ve practically announced almost every 2011 show as "best show ever" and you guys were breaking my balls for that.
I definitely had a great time. Just felt like it wasn\'t as intense of a performance as they\'ve been delivering lately (Big Up, BreakFEST, Utica, Acoustic Cafe Residency).
Then again, looking at the setlist, I could be totally wrong. I was pretty fucked up for the majority of the performance and the fact that I was on my feet and dancing considering the combination of "whatever that guy gave me" must have meant something good

There\'s was such delicate refinement to the music that went beyond your typical "balls to the wall" jamming.
For me, this could even be more intense.
The show captured such beauty of the Breakfast music, some of you may have missed.
-
i had a blast. i liked the venue a lot and i thought the band played outstanding!

Jordan right at the start.

Ah sounds like you fell into the fluffer trap of high expectations. It happens. For me there was lots of questioning in the jams. You know "where are they going now? Really there? Oh yeah Ok I hear it. damn Dangle Wait wait ok well if you\'re gonna do that. Yeah I see Tim likes it too" you know shit like that. So much musical conversing I was just shaking my head most of the night.
-

Ser lulz right here.
w/ a solid crowd full of SER heads(freddie, gabo, colin, peaches, teddy t, aruny, wolf, jed, george, duane, eric, brandon, bonzo, tuna) the power of broseph was strong last night
Including Igz, I estimate that this group of 15 has seen 1,725 Breakfast shows. That is some ser brosephness in the house for sure. If you take the combined show count of the top 15 show count people at every Breakfast show ever, I\'d feel very safe saying that last night\'s 1,725 number puts the show in the top-5 shows of all time for this metric.
-
while i wasn\'t at Breakfest or Big Up, this was as strong as a show as any that I\'ve seen all year(Toad\'s, Tammany, Church of Boston).. Set I: jam > See the Light> Score, Metropolis, May Fly Disarray, Hard Luck Harry > Rush was all fierce as hell. The Score was jammed out to Gladys type levels and the Mayfly jam went way out there before finding its way back to the Ahoy! part. My one complaint would be ending the show w/ Asscracks, VT Song and The Chase. Those are 3 typical encore songs or set closers, and all 3 in a row was a tad much. They could\'ve played one more heavy hitter, and just played one of those and really tore the place down. That being said, all three versions of each of those songs were on point too, so it was fine by me once they got into those tunes.
-
had a really good time, they definitely take advantage of every second when they take stage. main highlight for me was hardluck > rush. 2 of the best bfast tunes and the segue was absolutely outstanding. double encore is always a treat and i\'m loving the jammed out chases. would love to see them back there again they really turned the place into a headdie lounge. thanks to igz and everyone else love this band/fam
-
Good news... Zoom taped it well... maybe track it out later tonight
-
Thanks buddy, glad to hear it was taped! Maybe when you listen to it you\'ll realize how good it really was. I guess in your defense, you did look a little out of it, I mean you usually look out of it to begin with, but you looked like whatever you did wasn\'t agreeing with you. You were right in front of my face twice and I said, "hey," and you looked at me like you didn\'t know who I was, then like 2 hours later you knew me again.
-
yeah I was one toke over the line for a while there..
started gettin my party on around 7, didn\'t realize it wasn\'t until 11 that the band would be taking the stage!
Bad news: I can\'t for the life of me find the file on the zoom. Thought it recorded????? wtf
Anyway Matt Vallo was there so I\'m sure we\'ll get to hear his recording.
-
tuna, i think you\'re below the mendoza line when it comes to zoom taping. it may be time for a new recording device
-
so much fun. got home a little while ago after a long journey. yesterday at one point because of all the flooding i went 37miles in 3 and a half hours. home to no power today. cant wait to relistnen to the show. great seeing everyone. ill def be at one if not two of the stella shows.

8 people on this webcast is fucked up
last minute stream notification is a killer. too bad there\'s no way to really nail down whether there will be a stream well in advance. at least its preserved to be able to watch later!

Webcasts can\'t be announced ahead of time for several reasons.
1. The internet connection can\'t be verified until we arrive and set up at the venue.
2. If attendance is low at the venue, there will be no webcast.
I was thinking about starting a twitter account that announces webcasts. What do you think?
-
yeah, i knew there were certain circumstances that prevent you from having too much fore-knowledge. i forgot what they were, though... lol
i think the twitter thing is a good idea. at least anyone with a twitter feed would know right away. and you don\'t have to be near the computer to get it, since so many folks have smart phones these days. i know that i will shut down my computer after a certain point most nights, but if my phone goes off, i\'ll always check it.
now, to get a twitter account.... (i\'m so far behind the tech curve...)

I like the play list for consolidating videos and for watching the entire show in order or jump around. does youtube still only allow 12 active play list? they should increase it to like 50.
I like naming youtube video in this format:
[track #] [bands name] performs [name of song] Live at the [Venue] [Location] on [year-month-day] [source info -ie... 5 cam, HD 1080p, sbd audio]
can\'t remember if there is a character limit?
good luck!
Also, its been a while since I have uploaded any videos to youtube, since Paul kicked me out of the breakfast archive site.

I guess he\'s mad that i put a bunch of kung fu stuff on there?
