very tight show, solid sets!
8 songs of the never played there list! there is 8 songs on that list that they will never probably play again.
sick night, very sweet see the light>attraction>see the light
jam into sleeping beauty very awesome, buquebus disco jam was unreal.
continually getting better, every show is better than the last!
tight grooves and many slick moves and I am off to work...
-
oh man, i just spent the last hour and a half trying my damdest to not see the light on my road home. me and my helicopter pulled through nicely though. hi ho hi ho, its off to work i go.
-
hehehe... this should be interesting.
-
wow, sick looking show!!! hush, attraction, buquebus,.............................great shit.
-
Adrian\'s three seconds of drum thrashing prior to the "hey hey hey hey" part of Buquebus summarized the energy that saturated this evening. Highlights for me were Slack, Legend, Fresh Cut, Score, and of course, Buquebus.
-
Did not make it to Porter\'s until the beginning of the 2nd set, and it was very "ser" as you people like to say. For anyone who doesn\'t know me, I was, most likely, the sweatiest person in the place at the end of last night, I\'m still trying to ring out my hat, shirt and dry my hair, heh.
Good to see everyone I managed to stumble into.
-
"there is 8 songs on that list that they will never probably play again. "
what\'s that mean spacey??
-
ok, so the question no one asked is: who taped? aud.?sbd.?chris?dave?others?video?
-
who are these fucking maniacs?????????????????
-
How did last night\'s Porter\'s visit compare to the absolutely off-da-hook show on 11-24-04?
I do love Porter\'s!
-
Dave ....there were some deffinite Mission Impossible teases during Attraction!!!...which was one of the nastiest things i have heard
-
if they threw a puppetry in there after the attraction=shit>fan
-
The boys completely floored me last night once again. The first set was unreal, and that Buquebus>Hush was one of the sickest things I\'ve ever heard in my entire life. Good Friday? More like Great Friday! (Ok, that was probably the cheesiest line ever used in the history of the universe :rimshot: ... sorry)
On a side note, I brought my friend to the show last night. He\'s not really into the same music at all, so I figured he\'d just have some drinks and hang out. Long story short, after the show was over, I looked over at him, and his jaw was on the floor. The whole way home all he could talk about was how amazing the guys were, and how unbelieveable it was that 4 people could do what Jimmy Palms, Animal, Save and Sequoia do. Pretty much how I felt when I first started seeing them. I was very psyched.
Anyway, time to go try to get some more sleep and recover from last night before I drive to Jersey for the Dirty Mahoney Biscuits tonight.
-
ok, so the question no one asked is: who taped? aud.?sbd.?chris?dave?others?video?
there were plenty of tapers last night. i taped aud with jason-a and a minidisc patcher, dave did a matrix and matt did something more experimental. no video.
-
I\'m so glad I made it last night....didn\'t think I was going to until the last minute.
My favorite song of the night had to be "Score"....I can\'t believe how sturdy Ron is during that song....from beginning to the end. With Ronny\'s playing aside I think, IMO, that was one of the best Scores I\'ve ever heard/seen.
Once agian the boys came through with an amazing show.
-
Wow. Powerful first set followed by off-the-chart energy right off the bat in set II. Inverted STL > ATSD sandwich was the turning point of the show, never looked back from here. Legend of a Mind was quite large and Doughboy worked well in the closer spot. Set II was just so in your eye. Mind-melting Buquebus. Fuckin mind-melting. My jaw was on the floor just like Hood\'s friend\'s jaw. (Love those first-timer stories!) The set never let up thorugh the finish. Hot damn. Nice to see everyone as always.
-
anybody catch the barfight downstairs during buquebus?
-
anybody catch the barfight downstairs during buquebus?
Fighting over the last few delicious nachos remaining on the platter?
Which beer is headier?
Best Breakfast song of the first set?
J.P. hitting on girlfriends of Breakfast fans?
-
so when is this show, along with the Oneonta, gonna be on the archive?? i believe Wah said that 3/19 was the "hands down best show ever" (his opinion) the day after, and once again it seems like last night was in competition with every other show since Toad\'s as \'the best,\' this is getting to be ridiculous. sooo, lets download em!
-
wow what a blast last night... also had a breakfast newbie with me, she was diggin that second set especially, i haven\'t seen her dancin like that ever! it was great!
highlights for me were probably that GBFB>Score jam early in the second set, so rockin! See the light intense, i was glowing when they kicked into ATSD...
... these guys, they never cease to amaze!
it was nice to meet ya dave and andrew and everyone else!
thanks to todd too for lettin us chill over there last night (this morning?), we had a blast ! :)
-
Boy was I blown away. The biggest difference for me was the fact this was the first time I had seen them in C.T. The energy level was one step up higher. I would have have to agree this was the best show. They seem to just get better and tighter every show. Just when you thought they could not top it they do, in many different ways. I just really enjoyed the set up. There is no stage really. They are right there on the floor with ya. Some great parts of the songs that really stand out when a large group of people know the music. Matt finally, Chris thanks again so far so good.
-
Oneonta=dont Think Its Coming Out...if They Played The Oneonta Show At Porters Id Have To Say That People Wouldve Died On The Scene..
Didnt See The Barfight.i Remember Being Outside The Frontdoor At The Beginning Of Buq,then When Iheard It I Rushed In And Tried To Get As Close To Tpalms At Possible.missed The Beef By A Second Im Thinkin
-
Wow!!! Only my second show at Porters but what can I say?
:::WOW::: (again) Most impressive imo was Adrian and the freaking energy that was just reverbating from his set-up right from the start. Obviously the rest of the kids were far from shabby but I was just FLOORED by his drumming last night.
Great music, great peeps and a great time were had by not only myself from what I read and really wish I could have gone up to Montréal and played the role as translator for the sure to be floored frenchies but hey...
More dates up north are sure to come if they burn down the Swimming like they they did @ porters.
Théo.

Can Never Have Enough Good People/tapers At Shows!
-
They seem to just get better and tighter every show. Just when you thought they could not top it they do, in many different ways.
I\'m glad to see that other people think the same as I do at the end of EVERY show. :jawdrop:
"They did it again"
-
Heady Scarf,mang!
Lol
Wah-When you are as hard, solid, confident and toit like myself you will be able to sport the pink and get away with it as well.

Theo, with The Grace Of God,one Day Ill Be Able To Pull Off Such A Feat!!

felt like I was in a frat house or at a party last night. Porters is a very intimate little place which created so SER energy. I thought I was going to die for the first time in my life at a show. Sweating so much it wasn\'t funny, it was like I kept taking off clothes trying to stay alive.
Adrian was beating the drums with such passion last evening, that I have a totally new found respect for the man. As always, I was truely speechless on the ride home, left scratching my head!
Good to see everyone and meet some new faces. Completely wasted so things are slowly coming back to me at this point...
-
I\'m assuming the upstairs space was jammed with people right in front of the band, but how was the attendance in the lower level of Porter\'s?

dickyoulust needs to stop his bitching.. how he can even think about putting PB in the same bin as OAR is beyond me...no soul?? those dudes have more soul than most of Amerikkka. If my pheesh handle were working, I\'d give him a piece of my mind.. silly kids will never get over the fact that Trey Wankastasio and his band of wooden soldiers will never play again.. boo hoo..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
(I understand that my labeling of Phish is quite harsh, but I\'ve been sick and tired of people\'s perspectives toward that band for a while, obviously they\'re the Phab Phour and shit, and I still hold large amounts of respect for each individual member- but mostly Mr. McConnell.)
-
don\'t take anything that punkass says for ser. he doesn\'t know his ass from his elbow. he\'s just jealous us east coasters have kickass bands like the breakfast to see while he sits at home and relives his glory days, whenever the hell that was. either way, comparing the breakfast to umphree\'s shows that he knows dick.
-
but yeah, big fiery ball jam= wha wha waht now? serness!
-
i think i might really like this band.... :)
quite glad i made the detour :-D
-
postom, nice to have you aboard for the Breakfast. Some of the finest music around, you will be sure to be left hungry for more. Welcome!

The consistant question for years in my mind, "what is the best breakfast show you\'ve (me) ever seen?"
The consistant answer, "the last one I was at"
and this statement couldn\'t possibly be more true after this Porters show. The scene was HEADY. New and old faces abounded. The new look Porters was great, and the band just ripped the shit out of the place......
If you see Spaceys Porters stats page, you will see my plea for someone to print out the list of never been played tunes and bring em to the band....well kudos to Freddiewaht for taking the initiative in doing so.
The See The Light>Attraction>See The Light was SICK. And there was also a PacMan tease right before the Pop Goes The Weasel in Doughboy. Legend Of A Mind was a blast from the past and the best version by the band I have heard live. SER-ASS Cut Me Some Slack taboot..... and of course the Second Set was a MONSTER!!!!!
But my super duper highlight of the show was the Great Big Jam. They built this up into a jam that I have never ever heard the breakfast play like before. The jam was improvised but structured. It went places and Timmy controlled the entire thing. He was Trey-like in his guiding the music and most notably in the Great Big Jam. I cannot wait to hear that, which will go down (for the moment) as the best Breakfast in-song jam I have ever heard.....EVER)
Adrian was an ANIMAL. He was playing like a man obssesed. I have never ever seen him play so fast and hard the whole night. UNREAL! AMAZING! FUCKING SER!

I have quite a few pictures from the Porters show but I think if one is to resume the "Face Owning" that went down well...
It\'s this picture of Greenleaved that I took while front row Jamming it out during the second set and IMO it sums up what Friday night was about.

-
DavePeck-NP.
I have quite a few and they as I gave the "war Cam" out to random fans and told them to shoot three pix and pass it off to someone else after they were done.
Obviously some are better than others but I will have the uploaded shortly.
P.S. Do you mind having post pix here like I just did? Just asking as I am not familiar with the policies of posting shots on the MB.
-
theo, break out with the ser shots!
no afterparty shots though.6up lurks this board....lol
-

yeah it\'s cool for a pic or 2 - just like bulk pictures to have their own home in the gallery, and it\'s set up like the forum, so you can comment back and forth on any pictures that go up in there...

All I can truly remember from the show was standing in the middle of the crowd with my eyes shut feel\'n the groove and the floor bounce. you can take pictures all day but nothing truly compares to being right there in the middle of a heady groove with your eyes shut and feeling yourself get brought to a whole new level with everybody feeding off all the energy. great room, not a photographers dream but definitely a fans. but I must say the ride down from RI after work and the ride back after the show and get to work for 5:30AM till 4:30. I was well worth it. I can\'t wait to do it again.
-
derick, you are fuckin insane, i couldn\'t even make the ride back to wally without getting tired, let alone having to be up at 9, that was to early.
you are SER in my book, you sick fuck!
