Smells like a monster...
-
christ.
-
i can\'t wait to hear this one!!! Puppetry! Mooboo! Gladys!!
-
matt or adrian on whipping post?
-
Figures I had to miss Whipping Post. :pout:
-
matt or adrian on whipping post?
Matt ripped up the Whipping Post. This show blew away Albany. As bold as that statement is, it\'s true.
-
Coma was inverted slow version was it not?
show began with "Let\'s go breeaakkfaast" chant jam and ended with "Thaaank yooou brreeeakfast" chant :)
the landlady was def pronounced and there was a few other teases throughout the show.
overall this show was really HOT.
Sooooo happy and THANKFUL they are officially BACk and BETTER THAN EVER.
Can\'t believe it\'s only matt\'s 10th show or whatever.
The setlist is almost all heavy hitters and they were HUGE versions especially QUEEB and HLH>GLADYS
The jams were so CRAZY and UNPREDICTABLE it was a amazing.
THis is exactly what I wanted from this band all along and now they are doing it I am so stoked.
It was to the point a few times where I had to ask myself "What song is this again?"
I was able to remember after a second but I can totally see future jams going to such crazy places that you ask yourself that question and you really don\'t know the answer.
they jammed FULL SPECTRUM, taking it in every direction and even breaking it down to total noise a few times,
Seeing where these jams went they were totally in a jamming rut before jordan left the band and with the trio
but they have officially BROKE OUT now and it is ON
From queeb on it was pretty much totally unique versions like I have never heard before with all the insane places the jams went.
THe jam before hlh sounded like they were going into mayfly, so it was a pretty big fake out.
WHen they ripped into hlh tho the crowd and myself started buggin and timmy got FIRED UP and shit got INSANE after that.
there was like a narration thing before going into gladys with a lot of crazy talk and a bit about elliS and matt learning the secret riff to glady hahaha it was really bugged out take my word for it.
thats all I ca really say. the tapes won\'t tell the full story but they will give a glimpse of how sick this show was.
All in all it was the fire. I am so excited to see this band again and will deffinitely be seeing every show I possibly can from now on.
oh yea... matt OWNED post. Probably the best and most passionate singing I have ever heard from this band ever. "TIED TO THE MOTHER FUCKIN WHIPPING POST!!"!!!!!!!!!!!
-

:wah:
-
Holy SHIT!!!!!.........Whineberg.
-
probably the best breakfast show ive ever seen. matt really takes the band to new levels. all 3 of the other guys took it to new levels because of him. matt is a very confident player and goes in really interesting directions. as for landlady, im pretty sure it wasnt landlady, it was just that commn latin four chord progression that the landlady features as well.
nonetheless, every song was jammed out in such interesting ways. all the jams had these really well played chord progressions. I\'ve never seen all four of them play so thoughtfully. really had an incredible time and the tapes (?) will prove how great this show was.
by the way...anyone think the reason they played whipping post was because i was in the front wearing my ABB shirt??? i think yes :)
-

same difference ;)
nice to meet you and good job bringing some friends to the show. Next ithaca show is gonna rage
-
Please tell me this was taped! I hope so.
-
sounds like people had a phenomenal night. wish i was there, especially for the hardluck klout described. hope to see everyone stat
-
mother fucker!, I\'ve got to get to a show soon. Yet to see Matt, and things look like they\'re gettin silly.
Great lookin setlist
-
i dont know how anything could have topped albany, but if it did, damn i gotta get my hands on it.
-
PS> please please please bring dobs back on board asap. the sound was just not as crisp as it should have been and some ser reverb echo vocal effects and perfectly HOT levels would have pushed this show over the edge from 9 to a 9.5 or maybe even 10.
nothing personal to chester or whatever his name is but the perfomances this band is now capable of need to be done justice sound wise and josh dobson is the only man for the job.
-
well.....,do they run a sound check? i remember they used to just jam for a sound check or the chase so they could adjust the levels. do they do that now? equipment is also a key part.
-
IMHO The Mezzanotte isn\'t a great room to mix (or tape) in. I like the place, just not as a music venue.
-
i agree.
-
What a great show to end the electric part of the weekend. The band continues to amaze me with the tightness and the jams they are playing are out of this world. Buquebus and Rufus is the first set and still the second set was insane. The club is alright but there should have been more people there I feel. Any other clubs they can play in Syracuse?
-
Yikes. This show was frightening. Absolutely terrifying. I am scared for the lives of my unborn children. Please listen to this show. No words will explain what happened well enough. Monsters everywhere. Fear, excitement, explosions of sound.
Brrrrrr....
::shudder::
-
I told you that this show was one not to miss. I should have heeded my own advice.
Every major song was played. Its exciting to have that feeling that you don\'t want to miss the next Breakfast shows.
-
no mfd
it was def heavy hitter fest tho.
have they ever played queeb>rufus before? puppethouse comes to mind but i cant remember if that was queeb rufus or the otherway around
-
12/23/05 middle east
end set I with queeb>rufus, start set II with rufus>queeb
-
this show was so much fun! I had a great time, after deciding 5 minutes before everyone was leaving to jump into the 4runner & head to Seracuse. Not one of my favorite shows, but not too bad either. After surviving work so far, I will def be making an appearance at Osiris tonight, and highly suggest for others to do the same. Things will get crazy! :awwyeah:
-

Sounds about right to me. What a great version too, Matt really ripped it up.
-
t Not one of my favorite shows, but not too bad either.
R U SER???

As only a second show newbie, this show really rocked me. All I can say is wow. I was told this was a 9.5 out of 10 show, and am glad to have made the drive from cow hampshah. Everyone I met was happy and smiling, and not a terse word or expression was seen the whole evening! I will be at more shows to come for sure. Its hard to find a band that plays with such heart and conviction to really want to give thier fans 100%. I was totally impressed.
BTW, please remind me to never trust the gas gage in my fancy european car ever again! Yes thats right, out o gas 3 miles west of Wilmington VT....what a drag, but oh well we were not in a hurry anyway! And Triple A Rocks!
Best Regards to all, and thanks for making this show so awesome for me.

9.5 out of 10.

Something happened this weekend that propelled the music into a whole new realm. Actually found myself asking myself what songs they were playing in Albany during their jams.
9.5/10 is completely on mark for this weekend.
-
Actually found myself asking myself what songs they were playing in Albany during their jams.
Same here as I said in my first post. I was able to remember after a second or two but if you were to start listening in the middle o fthe jams without looking what song it was there is no way you could guess what it was they were jamming on. This is really really good news because at some point it is going to get so far out there that we ask ourselves "what song is this again?" and we really don\'t know anymore. fuckin face ownage.
side note-that coma was in fact inverted
-
They really have been leaving the frame of the song and exploring a lot more lately. It is fun.
-
without reading any of this thread.....holy shit that setlist looks redonk. cant wait to listen to this!! i am still pumped to get to another show since Utica. had a blast up there.

I noticed as well and was very happy to see it as the crowds at mezzanotte can be a bit iffy sometimes but it def a Great crowd that night. good vibes all around. On the small side but all cool peeps and everyone was throwin down hard.
-
robyn ur nuts
markinnh, good to meet you, along with klout... i guess
-

-
great shot of upstate.
Thats the signature Ellis dance these days.
-
the setlist should be changed.... queeb definitely ended and then rufus started, no segue. Also, I could be wrong but it sounded like there was a "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott tease in Queeb by Tim. I\'ll have to listen to the recording to confirm. It\'s the song that moe. ends Spine of a Dog with a lot. Oh and btw, SHOW WAS REDONKULOUS. Always a great time in the Cuse.
-
the set list is definitely not 100% complete/accurate
-
Wow. I\'m officially nervous for Chicago and Madison. I feel like I\'m about to see a new band that I already know is my favorite. But seriously, these setlists and reviews lately are frightening. I can smell the Kinetic Playground and already feel my body crumbling. yes, Yes, YES!
-
enjoy it nick! can\'t wait to hear the reviews!
-
all the versions here are peak. i\'m listening to mooboo right now, can\'t wait for hlh
-
enjoy it nick! can\'t wait to hear the reviews!
yes siiiirrrrrrrr......!&^%$@%^&^%!!!!
-
i cant believe i missed this shit. i cant fucking wait for the freakout run.:wah:
-
raise your hand if you have listened to this mooboo\'s.
mind = blown
-
I love The (lets go Breakfast) JAM>wuiac! that shit is phenominal.
-
Fiery Ball > Mooboo\'s = SICK
L.G.B. Chant > Coma = Also SICK
great show
-
can anyone identify the tease in queeb? Its that frantic song from old looney toons cartoons
setlist should be marked with that, no segue between queeb and rufus and inverted coma
-
The tease in Buquebus is Raymond Scott - "Powerhouse" at 25:40
It\'s the tune moe. ends "Spine of a Dog" with sometimes. Also used in those Visa check card commercials.
-
this is the ultimate "leave in your car stereo for weeks" show. The actual segue from GBFB>Mooboo\'s is E-P-I-C. Mooboo\'s jam =\'what song is this again\'?
-
the whole show is definitely the definition of ownage. the queeb and rufus are pretty crazy too. damn two weeks notice, i shouldve straight up quit
-
this show is the shiznittlebam-snip-snap-sam.
-
10:50 into GBFBITS = Tim teases the Cheers theme song
-
i think the outro of the rush jam was written based on the outro segue of gbfb>mooboo`s. or maybe its just a coincidence but they sound a lot alike. or maybe i am just imagining it because a lot of the jams in this show are good enough to make songs out of.
this show gets pretty scarey and bugged out at points. but if you listen to the last cuse show there is a few points where they get even wierder and more frightening. something about that venue brings out the dark side of the force.
