I figured 4/19 would be Burlington too.... with Noho > Burlington a la October, plus being in Burlington when the clock strikes midnight on 4/19 would make sense eh? 4/25 is still good though. :)

Killington is pretty far. About two hours I believe. Stowe will still be open. Less than 30 minutes away.

Just saw on Higher Ground\'s website that Tea Leaf Green is booked for the same night in the ballroom.  That might be rough on attendance.  On the other hand The Breakfast friday followed by Twiddle saturday makes for a really good weekend.

they really should get twiddle to open up for them again. twiddle attracts a HUGE crowd in VT, and a ballroom slot with both of them playing would make a lot of sense.

wow. unless there\'s some sort of single-admission alternating set thing going on (which i doubt there is), it\'s a truly horrific move by the venue.

How is it a horrific move by the venue? The Breakfast are not known for selling out the place but rather they will pull in enough people to make having the smaller room open worth it.
TLG should from past shows there, pack the bigger room. Higher Ground makes bank.
The large room was pretty full the last time I was there and The Breakfast were playing the smaller room.
The only way this is horrific is for The Breakfast as TLG will probably receive more promotion and TLG\'s street teams are phenomenal.

because you\'re putting on two shows in one night that draw the same audience (don\'t analyze that statement - you know what i mean). i would think that there\'s probably a decent amount of people would have going to see the breakfast that night, but since TLG is playing, they\'ll go see them instead, especially since they\'re here far less frequently.

i would think if i owned the higher ground, i\'d want the two things going on in my two rooms to be about as opposite as possible to maximize the amount of people coming through the door.

Oh I fully understand your point. Mine is that the people that like The Breakfast most likely will not be going to see TLG. It is proof positive here on .info and I would think the people that .info\'ers will promote to will not be too keen on TLG either.

The Higher Ground may have booking staff that thinks this is true also.

agreed davepeck, and that is what they usually do at HG. I know I\'d be showing up to the showcase lounge... and don\'t get me wrong, tea leaf green is great... but tlg\'s guitarist (dont know names, sorry) doesnt even compare to tpalms. i get sick of his sound real quick.

not hating, just loving

The man\'s name is Josh Clark and he would slap you for comparing him to Tim.
He loves Tim\'s playing and thinks HIGHLY of him.

i think that would make for a pretty sick night. or one set as an opener and a second/third set in the other room as the headliner...... just do it for free for the exposure, your already there. do it as acoustic if equipment hauling is gonna be an issue

None of the really "sick" ideas are going to happen. I\'m pretty sure that path people will be playing in parrallel.

However, I do like both the idea of a 2 hour opening tb set then tlg. I would probably leave after the breakfast one. i\'ve never heard tlg and it\'s a long drive from burlington to providence.

I also like the "Filmore" double bill idea of:
Breakfast
Tlg
Breakfast
Tlg

I\'d probably stay for all of that one.

yeah, the openers are School Bus Yellow and The MacPodz.  Breakfast might not be on \'til around 11, which kind of sucks.  It\'s in the small room, called the showcase lounge, while TLG are in the big room.  At least maybe Tim will do a sit in before the breakfast\'s set?

:yay: tonight was so much fun!  Macpodz sit in was in*fucking*credible... wow!  I\'m so glad this was taped; though I wish it was on video too - picture 2 bassists, 2 keyboardists, 1 trumpet, 1 guitar, percussionist, drums, and cowbell!!!  Be sure to get to Sully\'s early tomorrow to check these guys out!  They put on a great show :)  It\'s too bad TLG was in the other room, or there would\'ve been many more people at this show

oh, and the Macpodz guy was Nick Ayers (does percussion, flute, vox for Macpodz)

Show was good, but there were only around 50 people tops.  Also, the jam with the Macpodz went into The Chicken, which was awesome.  I liked the two bass deal, and the new songs sounded really good.  See the Light also had this accapella bit at the end.  The vocal work is very cool.  Macpodz were good too.  They sounded to me like Bitch\'s Brew era Miles meets The Disco Biscuits with brief injections of Justin Timberlake.

All in all fun show, not as awesome as the freakout, but very good.  Anyone still around Burlington today should check out Twiddle.  They\'re latest bass player does some sick slap stuff.
