I have heard rumors from both sides that the halloween night freakout will be at beardslee castle this year. Or at least one of the freakout run shows.

Question from the computer illiterate. Is there a way to shrink these down and print them as postcard size flyers?

If this board had a penatly box per Wolfys request...the above statement would get you at least 3 days banishment....

AGP is like a cabinet full of pots and pans spilling onto the ground compared to The Breakfast....and I understand the whole "to each his/her own thing", but there is no contest between AGP and The Breakfast....

.confirmed

I had to edit this to validate my confirmation. Although I do like the horn section, an event as traditional and epically celebrated as FFO should not be missed for any reason.

absolutely, and understandle that they\'d be frustrated at all the people who knew about the puppethouse albums...im most definitely a fan of surprises... i almost wish i didnt know at the puppethouse -- those sets would have had more of an effect on me if i was in the dark...

i just think that it will be much more fun if everyone is on the same page for the halloween show, plus its always fun to see creative costumes based on the theme.... there is still PLENTY of room for surprises even if we know the theme....

I don\'t know if that can be a real confirmation w/ the reason you gave. I know The Breakfast are good and FFO is a tradition but I\'m missing it and not even sweating it as I\'ll be at Vegoose. This is a great reason to miss FFO thus.....

Definitely a w00k(ie) joke to be made.

I\'m torn between FF7 and the big drunken, barely clothed girls with boobies hanging out festival that is a Fairfield University Halloween party.  It\'s gonna be a game-time decision.

And I\'ve got no problem with a change in the design of the t-shirt.

You can dress however you want.  It\'s the band\'s theme.  Last year the theme was Big Lebowski, but you certainly didn\'t have to dress Big Lebowski.  If you\'re a Star Wars person, show it.  If not, fall back on the old reliable slutty bunny.

maybe he should stick with posters and leave the tshirt designing to others ;)
either way should be a blast.....

at first i was wierded out when i read the theme, but now....i am more excited and eager....
i wasn\'t planning on going as a SW character, and i will peruse my choices, but i am thinking my costume is decided on.....but we\'ll see....i dont think there is enough time (or plastic) to mold my full body stormtrooper armor w/ blaster........

5 BANDS! Man that is so cool! You guys get 6 bands in one night? Talk about value for your $$.
That is like one of the best deals I have ever heard of. Damn Vegoose! I shoulda just went to the FF.
Which hip and cool bands are gonna open? Man I sure hope someone gets there early and tapes the whole thing. That would be really peachy keen.

leith, vegoose = talent across the board.

ff7= newbie bands you\'ve probably never heard of, if your lucky they fit into the genre and theme of the night, and the breakfast going on 4 hours after doors open because of it.

That\'s just how the webster is, but they make up for it by being the best sounding hall in the state!

ff7= newbie bands you\'ve probably never heard of, if your lucky they fit into the genre and theme of the night, and the breakfast going on 4 hours after doors open because of it.

That\'s just how the webster is, but they make up for it by being the best sounding hall in the state!

Leith I thought the "peachy keen" comment would be enough to get the sarcasm across....

On an unrelated note, I think I am not going to wear a costume this year. Every time I do I am fidgeting with it all night and it drives me nuts. Last year I was ready to gore my own eye out with those viking horns by the end of the night.

The show is in Hartford, not New Haven, unless I\'m really confused.

Yes Hartford is a bad city. I have never had a problem parking neae the Webster however.

However, I did have eggs thrown at me last Halloween at the Webster. (I think that was last year...) They came raining down on me from above. Punk ass kids!

but back to rujah\'s question.  it was actually the girl i went to the show w/\'s car, we managed to get a ride from a couple whacked out gents who were at the Biscuits show.  They kept trying to feed us blow the entire ride while we went to 3 or 4 tow lots around the city until we found the right one.  boy was that an adventure.  i couldn\'t tell you which one it was exactly.  either way, we dealt w/ the situation that night and were able to get home and get some sleep before we shot up to the Roxy the next night for another Biscuits show, that was a fun little weekend.

From Jambands.com:
Star Wars for Breakfast

The Breakfast (winners of the 2004 Jammy Award for New Groove) has announced the theme for its 7th annual Fonghoulish Freakout. The theme will be Star Wars, a follow up to last year’s Big Lebowski night. The band pledges to introduce some new original compositions as well as some material from the Star Wars films (although beyond the “Cantina Song” and John Williams\' “Theme” one wonders where they will go with it). The event will take place on Saturday October 29 at the Webster Theater in Hartford. The venue will be decorated for the occasion and concertgoers are encouraged to do the same.

So does anyone know if this pledge of introducing new original compositions mean we are getting more new songs than the recent 2 ? That would be SER as hell!

there could be more.

think about it.

last year there were 5 first time played\'s.

granted, they were all covers, but take another \'themed\' freakout, and add to it this new pledge, and i\'d say there will be at least 7 new tunes..

as much as I look forward to hearing these new tunes, I (just my opinion) would rather hear them on cd first before seeing them live.  I like knowing the songs when I\'m at a show, but i guess the only way to know them is to hear them live, so it\'s a strange opinion I have looking at it from both ways....make any sense???

I like to hear the tunes in person, because I am selfish, I like to have the claim that I heard that tune played for the first time by the band. Like I was one of the fortunate to hear the breakfast play Psygn and Good Things for the first time at the Porters closing.

Yeah, thats right, it\'s all about me, numero uno senors y senoritas...

First and second gear have disapeared, when I put it in first it slides over to third when I put it in second it slides over to fourth.  You can put it in first hold it up there and move it with your hand over to third. (does that make any sense?) I think it\'s the links between the gears and shouldn\'t be too expensive or time consuming but with cars especially SAAB\'s you never know.  Trust I WILL find a way even if I have to thumb or get a cab from crappy old New Milford

Oh yes, The Webster is classic for squeezing in the opening bands...logic being, they get 3 local bands to get all their friends and everyone they can to buy a ticket and maybe they pull in an extra 150-200 people to drink at the bar and check out the main act. Seems to work for them, cause it\'s da formula...

That said, I still like seeing shows there...and come on, it\'s The Breakfast!!!

Any late night party spot that has the ability to cripple a man and put him out of work for a week is my kind of late night party spot.

I hope to leave alive.

Small request can you feed/kill the stray cat, it was well, a little bit of a nuisance.

Post by: Spacey on October 28, 2005, 11:41:15 pm
Yes, the white and orange cat.

All I am saying is that I felt bad for the stray. It was windy as ever and in the state my mind was in all I could think of was bringing the cat in and feeding it.

Theres more to it but its just not worth getting into.
