SER!
how was the score>merge>score? did anyone come close to spontanious human combustion?
 i was close to erupting into flames at that point in the show -- after the first set i wasn\'t sure what could top it ... puppetry was glorious; im not sure where those boys took me during that jam into eschers but the roof was about to burst open -- ... almost fainted when they kicked into Im the Slime, i\'ve been itchin\' for a good zappa fix...
... second set? probably one of the best planned sets i\'ve seen... that score>merge>score slapped me around a bit with its overwhelming energy, but fairy> fresh cut was exactly what i needed before that *SICK SICK* rufus...
...overall a great time, i\'m glad the venue filled up... i didnt think it was going to but all of a sudden the place was packed... nice surprise to start the show :D

no tickler, no freddie, no gencs, no aruny, no greenberg, etc.. lots of \'regulars\' MIA last night..
-
definitely... it was a pretty chill crowd too which made it that much better... lots of good vibes and groovin\'
-
no tickler, no freddie, no gencs, no aruny, no greenberg, etc.. lots of \'regulars\' MIA last night..
I have seen nights where the above was basicly the entire crowd....
so to read reviews and comments and see pics from what looks like "yet another legendary breakfast show" makes me smile big and wide....even with the fact that I have to go to work i about an hour.....breakfast fo life....

Leith wasn\'t at the last Plantation show.
-
damn, that was fun. nice seeing everyone as usual, a lot more showed up than I first would\'ve guessed, even the elusive jocelyn made an appearance. the show was solid, that score> merge> score was intense, as was eschers pt. 2 > puppetry, and rufus of course. don\'t know when the next time is gonna be, but I\'ll see y\'all then.
-
looks great again...
why no encore? you guys said the place was packed, soooo...??
-
there was no encore because they played past the time they were supposed to. the big dude that was carding people in the front was getting pissed.
-
looks great again...

the encore was slated to be Jumpin\' Jack Flash, but they simply ran out of time. Rufus was pretty damn long. JJF woulda been great, but the monster Rufus more than made up for it.
-
bezerker - can you be seen in any of the pics? just curious if i know who you are or not..

sweet very sweet, no regrets at all, even though I had to work today. Three of us drove down from maine. 5:35 am
-
very glad to see that everyone had such a good time. well one look at the setlist explains most of that reasoning. rufus, I miss you buddy, love buquebus
-
Just turned on Sirius radio channel 6017 (Jam bands) and "Rufus" by Psychedelic Breakfast is playing. On the way home from the show last night the Breakfast was on the UConn radio station-- so coo.l.

nice pics dave. watch out for the bull!
-
that was a sick drum solo as well. almost forgot about that.
-
that place seemed super sketchy... the bug dude at the door asked us for a second photo id... then when we tried to get a drink, the bartender asked us why we hadn\'t a huge blue X across our hands... we didn\'t know what was going on, until we realized they decided to allow <21 in the door, so we had to go back and get our beautiful blue X stamp...
instead of repeating what everyone else has already mentioned, I thought I\'d say how beautiful language was opening up second set... perfect way to delve back into the tunes...
kinda bummed about no encore, but indeed that rufus made up for it... they honestly had no time to play anything else, the sketchy big dude at the door started yelling at everyone to get the hell out... kinda rude the way they do that... don\'t even give you a moment to relax and take in what just went down... everyone needs that pause to get your heartbeat back to normal, right? the music is just so intense...

I was in a hotel room in West Bethel, Maine. Thought you would be at the show. Sorry I missed this one. Actually drove through Worcester around 3:30 on my way up. Today\'s 76 degrees, SOFT, HUGE moguls and beautiful blue sky made up for it though. Best spring skiing I\'ve done in over 10 years.

Peck....sorry I didn\'t introduce myself, when I got there I releized I had no idea who you were or what you looked like. Now I know because of the gallery for next show. I was the person in the green shirt standing in front of you practically the whole night...ohh well. Yet another insane show!! Best rufus ever.
-
I wrote a simple review just now, and decided that it was to long of a comment for this thread, so I am holding of and going to post it in the review section later today.
A qucik thanks to mcajam, Chris F and plainandsimple for the ride up and directions, also hellavahat for the set break attendance.
btw, a special thanks to plainandsimple for sleeping on the ride home, I love when people snore, while I am cocked, in a nother state and have to be in work in 4 hours. Thanks buddy, it\'s ok, cuz\' you are driving the next time.
anyone interested in some stuff I scored from the dudes car next to me? ;)
sorry mcajam, that was uncalled for, sorry...

i can\'t believe the dude who\'s been to hundreds and hundreds of breakfast shows missed the best rufus ever !!! i feel special
-
When referring to "Best breakfast song/show ever" lets please refrain from using the word "ever", because its bullshit....The best breakfast song/show played will always be a song/show they haven\'t played yet....so instead of saying "best breakfast show/song ever", I believe we should be saying "best breakfast song/show TO DATE"
Done and done...
-
rufus made me hot in the pants
-
about those blue X\'s. i gotta say that, that was my fault. my friends and i showed up at the show thinking it was 18+ but when we got there, the big guy at the door told us it was actually 21+. after we gave the guy the sob story about how we drove 1.5 hrs they started putting X\'s on everyones hands so we could go in underage. sorry about the marker-hands

no its quite alright. i\'m sure everyone can suck it up for a night. that change probably got at least an extra dozen or so heads in, so whatever. if there are under 21 individuals who would benefit from being at the show, then i am certainly not one to deny them access.

I had the opportunity to see the Breakfast play at many bars in 1999/2000 as a 19/20 year old and would have missed out on a lot if there were 21+ mandates.

no problemo dude! glad you were able to get inside and see the show. sucks being under 21 hahaha!! i shouldn\'t talk though... i\'m not really that far past you. :spin:
i think i may have talked to you... or one of your friends... gavin was it?
-
the X\'s actually ended up being a great idea.. i was able to rake in $60 by giving all the underage kids the ability to drink with the whiteboard markers i had in my truck!
KIDDING!

Finally gonna toss my .02 in. Great night, interesting room to say the least. I felt I was lost when I got off Rt. 146, the place is in the middle of a suburban neighborhood, still trying to figure out how in the hell they manage to hold shows there without getting complaints from the neighbors. $3.50 guinness drafts was also an added bonus, was not expecting that and ended up having a few more than I planned on, which also turned into me failing to realize I shouldn\'t have been jumping around like normal for most of the night starting somewhere during Puppetry or WPOAC, can\'t really recall when. Nice meeting some new faces, don\'t ask who I met, I\'m terrible with names. As for the music, I can\'t say much, I\'m still left speechless, as were the three people I brought, been to a couple shows here and there, but now I got them hooked, finally, I think. Was an interesting car ride home, I dont think I talked at all, just listened to the three of them in awe. Great night, great people, see ya next time (knowing me, a few months down the road ;))
-

i\'m gavin first of all, and i think we were the first underagers there because the big dude was making us leave when anotehr girl who worked there listened to us and the fact we drove from sunapee nh, so she asked her boss and introduced us to the bartenders so we didnt drink. they put some heavy threats on us if they caught us drinking. those guys show no mercy !! when did i talk to you ? !
-
yeah thats real similiar to what the guy did to us. they stopped us as we were driving out of the parking lot and said they would let us in after all. he put the same heavy pressure too, said that if we asked for a drink we\'d be "leaving in cuffs" pretty brutal.
-
wow.. i *almost* forgot about our food experience in worcester (believe me, i\'m trying!)..
so mike & i got to the place really early, and we were pretty hungry, so we figured we\'d wait and see if the band wanted to order some grub, as they had some take-out/delivery menus behind the bar..
jordan elected to go with chinese, while tim, ron, mike, and i went with the italian place. we were breaking tim\'s balls, cause he ordered a chicken parm sub in worcester, and god only knows what the sauce would taste like.. the rest of us decided to go with simple chicken cutlet subs, with provolone, lettuce, tomato, and mayo..
turns out the joke was on us.
we got our subs (about an hour and a half later), and there\'s sauce on all of them. we open them up, and sure enough, on three of them, there was ALSO lettuce, tomato, and mayo!!! :yack::yack::yack:
WHO DOES THAT????????
-
chicken parm with vegetables and mayo? yuck!
-
i mean, what goes through one\'s head when putting that sandwich together?!? i would think some kind of red flag would be raised.. but nope, just red sauce...
-
did u eat them?
i actually ordered food at the bar the last show there...we ordered spicy cheese balls hopping they would be something special....unfortunately it was just plain old poppers.
-
did u eat them?
we didn\'t have much of a choice at that point.. we went there hungry - arrived at the club around 6:45.. by the time we finished load-in, etc, ordered the subs at 8:30, i don\'t think they got there til 10:00, so we were starving..
some chose to do some scraping. others (myself) chose to go after it like Joe Rogan - Fear Factor style! :yack:
-
hahaha. I can picture all of you sitting at the bar trying to force them down with joe rogan in the backround making discouraging remarks.
-
Last Time There Iordered A Teriyaki Steak And Cheese Submarine.
Fricking Ser,i Might Add..

grinders?
lol

Still better than most of the sub shops out here. You have to look hard to find a good sub. New England has an abundance of great mom and pop subs in most towns. Quiznos is what people think of out here when the superlative "good sub" is discussed.

yeah wtf w/ that? Quiznos is crap. I have 3 delis I frequent when wanting a sandwich. Zurflu, SF has some great places for sandwiches you just gotta look. In the City there is an awesome place down by The Warfield by the start of the Mission District. Name? Blue building w/ a green awning i think it was.

Good subs can be found, but S.F. is a city of 750,000+ people. New England towns with 25,000 people often have a dozen great pizza and sub shops. You will hopefully get the chance to experience it when you head east for a Breakfast run.
You don\'t have to look as hard for good pizza and subs in the Northeast. Confirmed!

we call them grinders up here :)
only grinders i saw in worcester were on the dance floor.

thought the show was great. did think the second set had more energy, our may be the parking lot during set brake helped. want to thank spacey for the adventure home, it was a trip. see u all at the webster

Nice seeing some of yous in Woostah. Wish I would get to meet all of the non-yahoo group new posters that I never seem to meet.
Wish I could have danced around a bit. Damn. Threw my back out trying to move a big planter full of dirt, and then drank a bottle of red wine at dinner, then did 2 jager shots, and drank some beers. Bleh. All of that, not good for dancing.
Can\'t even remember what sounded good and what was run of the mill. Shame. Shouldn\'t mix wine, liquor, and beer.
-

Funny thing is that was my plan, the not dancing part, for different reasons, but somehow it didn\'t work out as planned (I blame the whiskey and beer).
