Save yourself some download time and go here to get it....You\'ll need WinZip to unzip it.  Actually it probably wont speed things up too much but here it is anyway.  Got it burned and gonna throw it in the stereo now!  Enjoy

Not the best quality recording, more vocals would be nice, lil less audience chatter, but beside that i can hear all the guys well....not quite up to the standards of the more recent shows chris and others have spoiled us with.

as far as audience recordings, I thought this one was pretty good. the sound and mix is what it is. I have had may better and worse venues.   Its not the fault of the taper, a $80,000 rig would have not made this any better. One thing a tape sometimes can contol is location of mics, trying to get to that sweet spot in the venue (usually a equidistant triangle in relation to the PA speakers is a good start). the only problem with that is between 1 and 3am when many people are not conscious of the equipment.  I had a show once where this girl was determinded to climb our mic stands! I hear that. and when you try to stop them from grabbig, stomping and the like they look at you as if you caused it.

Strangecreek this year the whole weekend was great then during AOD this really drunk guy comes through the section and he was doing alright until he decided to use the mic stands to help balance himself etc. So 1 of the tapers very nicely and quietly puts his hand on the guy and asks him not to grab the stands (very nicely). The guy for whatever reason takes huge offense to this and starts DEMANDING we take the stands down. He was threating us and wanted to fight us. (meanwhile the kid whos rig it was comes back and has no idea whats going on) so the drunk guy gets this inocent guy in his sights and just won\'t let it go. he goes to every taper there demanding they take down the rigs. was pretty funny to watch the tapers ignore him. I have got tons of these tye stories :)

yeah definitly sounds like the recording is a fairly faithful recreation of what the room must have sounded like.

dave and I were recording at pearl street, can\'t remember which show, we were recording on stage and this guy grabs the mic and starts singing in it like it was open mic night, come sing with the band.  we told the guy to stop and not even 5 minutes later he tries it again.  I think security finally booted that guy out!

this is the kind of recording (to me) that\'s golden if you were there. the crowd is prevalent, and you gotta blast it to hear everything.. i guess its the only way to go, im personally enjoying this recording a lot. its exciting.

agreed.  all i was saying was that we\'ve been spoiled by chrisF\'s recent endeavors.   If you read my first posts you\'ll realize that i too was excited about hearing the fans, it really does add excitement to the mix.
