I think it\'s amazing they played "The Late and the Great" seeing that it was the 2nd time ever. Was last night an aniversary?
-
I know Tim was planning on bringing it back for a while, he played it at a latenight party at Pete the Fans a couple months ago.
-
cool
-
good lord! all these new tunes! bustin out some dust! this is fucking great. seems like an album should be on its way...
Psygn, Good Things, Honey Butter, Overexposure, Surreal Radio, Episode 3 in only 4 months.. thats a band hard at work.
and Gravity hasnt been played much lately, i like seeing it as somewhat of a rarity. special song right there.
everyone out West is in for an intense tour, no doubt about it.
-
Overexposure was sooo good, a lot better than surreal radio IMO. Such an amazing show...good crowd. The late and the great was awesome…but overexposure…ser tune my friends. I finally got a love lake it was worth the wait. Everyone was getting down to it and it is in fact EPIC! I love honey butter. I feel dirty saying that, every time I hear that tune I like it more. D5 encore when I was not even expecting an encore at all...Wow.
-
SOOOOOOO wanted to go to this show!!!!! The vision of a 5+ hour drive in the snow was not appealing though!!!

there is a lot to be said about this show......first off New Hampshire + The Breakfast = a great scene. The Stone Church is a sweet venue dispite the rediculously slow bartenders.
First set highlights include Lit, Fire and Late/Over...... Ellis owned the lights on Lit.....The Fire was tight and heavy.....And the long awaited Late/Over was a powerhouse.....Not quite powerful enough to own the numero uno highlight for me....Honey Butter......But the sheer power and feeling to Late/Over made me think, "wow.....these kids really have something to say other than singing songs about hair and dead comedians and such....."
The second set was the money set with amazing jams in all the big tunes. The Great Big jam was epic but it was the Gravity Jam that stole the night as the band busted into some amazing music, shaking all of us throughout....
The big suprise was the amazing reception that Love Lake received.....It was an amazing version of the tune, it didnt just coast along...the band rode the shit out of it and it was amazingly executed. Not in my top 10 tunes, i may have to reconsider my rankings after this one...
Surreal Radio was good to hear again, but was overshadowed by the Late/Over...... The new tunes are great and usher in a feeling of real excitement thinking that they are going to be taking these on the road and actually playing them.....From what I heard after the show last night, there may even be some more bust out brand spakning new tunes coming on this run.....keep your fingers crossed.......
Hush.....I think Pec said it best last night that, "when you hear Hush, you know something is going or just went down"....
By the end of the show everyone was wiped, but nobody moved.....We needed one more.....What came was, in my opinion, the best Breakfast encore I have heard since I can remember.....Dimension 5 was placed and played in the perfectlyt.....I couldnt think of a better way to ship this band out on the road.....
Thanks to the New Hampshire kidz for making last night such a heady affair....
Thanks to the band and family for making this ride (the past 6 or so years) the stuff that only dreams are made of.....
I am sure looking forward to a few weeks of rest and relaxation before we bust into spring.....
Safe Travels...
See you on the other side....
Gencs
PS....missed both you guys last night.....was thinking about you often though....you know its a good night when the jedi is standing in front of the stage for the better part of the night with a big ole shit eating grin smacked firmly on his grill

I think it\'s amazing they played "The Late and the Great" seeing that it was the 2nd time ever. Was last night an aniversary?
it had been played 4 times before last night:
2001-10-26
2001-11-02
2002-11-15
2002-11-16
it\'s been reworked a bit, and is now \'paired up\' with Overexposure (like a scarlet/fire, forbin\'s/mockingbird deal)...
-
Ahh, thanks for the clarification Dave!!
-
Good to read from Gencs post there may be some bust outs on tour. It only makes sense to do so.
Introduce some tunes in front of fresh audiences and create a buzz for the home crowd for when they get back.
Looking forward to hearing new Breakfast and I like combo songs so Late>Over is a sweet addition to the setlist for me.
-
wow seeing this makes me really wish I didn\'t move 12+ hours away from my fav band. Can\'t wait til the guys plan a trip down to NC.
Best of luck to the guys and everyone making to trek out on the tour!!
-
my mind is still a little spun out from last night\'s performance, but damn that shit was sick! the hype that they\'ve built up in the surrounding areas of UNH is huge and they def. live up to it. kidzzz were really enjoying themselves from the get go-, and by the time sleeping beauty picked up it was already a packed house of dancin fools for the most part- nice to hear Lit again, and as previously mentioned Ellis hooked it up withe the transitions and color dabbling:disco: inverted stl is always a plus, but this one had some fuckin balls to it. 2nd set was absolute madness. marathon run- and that honeybutter jam is really taking shape. Ali, was very happy you got your LoveLake finally, people were eating it up.. the new songs def. have some substance to \'em... can\'t wait to hear more.. D5 encore= fuckin\' ser if you ever are in New Market in the a.m.- go to Cafe Big Bean for the best breakfast I\'ve ever had-
-
monster show.... new songs rock and definitely got good reception... my highlight was definitely the raging gravity, the house was absolutely rockin\'
lex, u totally shoulda been there dude, love lake was some tight shit... fire.... are you for real, it was rippin
on an additional note, ronnie took the greatest one note bass solo in the history of music..... and d 5 was an excellent choice for encore
princess thanks for the ride, u guys know how to have a good time, see everyone on april 6th milfooooord bitches
ps, honeybutter is officially the most raging song ever
-
why did i have to fly 6 hours to california last night?!?!? grrr... the show looks absolutely fuckin diggity DANK!
TO THE BREAKFAST- SAFE TRAVELS ON YOUR NATIONAL DOMINATION TOUR!!!
-
I find the resemblance between Honey Butter and Raq\'s Sweet Cream Butter rather interesting, could it be a parody?
-
This band sucks, this scene sucks and I suck MAJOR mooseballs for not being there. FUCK OFF!
-
ya you should have been there that does suck you could not make it, missed ya man
-
Someday soon, I will get to see you again, my friend.
Glad all of you had such a good time.
I guess I\'ll be seeing all of you again in a few months, until then it is;
Rehab > Relaxation > Rehab Reprise > New Era of Breakfast
See ya in the spring, ya\'ll!

Well, people were certainly worshipping at the altar of The Breakfast last night at the Church. Reverend Palmieri aroused our spirits from their beauty sleep and lit the way for us to see the light from the fires of musical heaven. That was the best See The Light in recent memory for me. The introductory inversion jam built up stupendously and then burst its way into the song like Moses parting the Red Sea. We then said a memorial prayer with The Late And Great. I love this tune, and have always wondered if it would ever become anything. As they were playing it I was reminiscing with some fans about the first time they played it at Fonghoulish Freakout 3. As it turns out, there are plans for this tune. BIG plans. Plans of biblical proportion. For just like the animals on Noah\'s Ark, The Late And Great now has a pairing. An epic pairing. Ladies and gentlemen, Overexposure is colossal. This redefines the very word "overexposure" as we know it. Moses in the desert for 40 days? That\'s just a sunburn now. The Breakfast melting your face with a new tune...now that\'s Overexposure! The song starts with a fantastic major-key reggae hook very reminiscient of The Police. Then this jam comes in off a totally different angle but they flow like the water that Jesus turned to wine. I can\'t believe that was the first time they played it. By the time they get back from tour this song will be so huge that it could crush 10 Goliaths in a single step. Second set packed the fury of Cain with the beauty of Joseph\'s dreamcoat. I wasn\'t sure what year it was anymore while I was watching a bunch of college kids get silly to Garcian Fishbowl > Love Lake. The Love Lake reprise was HUGE. It makes me laugh just to say it, but it\'s true. The children were rejoicing at Love Lakes across the world, from the shores of the Baltic Sea to the River Nile. They then finished the show stronger than a mighty ox. Honey Butter, Gravity, and Surreal Radio brought us back to the present day and all shined ling King Solomon\'s marbles. I still don\'t like closing a show with a cover, but Hush brought an end to the service with a roar worthy of the Lion of Judah. The D5 encore capped off what was a truly biblical night with power and authority. An awesome encore, the kind that picks up right where a raging second set left off.
In the end, the men beat their swords into plowshares, the rivers of Babylon flowed like a mighty stream, and the curchgoers got their salvation after a night in Eden worshipping their Lord and Savior, The Breakfast.

Amen and Hallelujah.......

...this show was a good one, Hush...well...I don\'t know about that one, it was always a cue to change the station everytime it came on...surreal radio was very good, garcian>lovelake>garcian was about as good as it couldv\'e been...lots of weird sons \'a bitches dancin everywhere...didn\'t really like honey butter before, but for some reason i was happy to hear it, same with gravity, maybe christ showed up and and made me hear songs differently, who knows...overall i was happy to have been in the area (boston) to see a show i wasn\'t expecting to see...good times!!!
-
cant wait to hear it....
-
Definitely worth the 4 hour drive and driving 80mph on back roads to get home at 4:45am... rough day at work the next day...
but, damn, that was a good show!
Pretty damn good crowd too :D
